Shi Wei picked a candy wrapped in blue packaging, unwrapped it, and popped it into his mouth. Within seconds, the sweet fragrance burst onto his taste buds. He had no idea where she'd bought this candy, but it was the most delicious he'd ever tasted. "I should head out," Yu Zhi said as she settled her backpack on her shoulders and pointed to the clock in the living room. After spending the evening here, it was already close to ten o'clock. Though the people at her place didn't care much about her comings and goings, staying at his house too long still didn't seem appropriate. Shi Wei paused briefly, his grip on the candy tightening: "I'll walk you out." Just as Yu Zhi stepped one foot out the door, Shi Wei tugged at the strap of her backpack. He looked at her silently for quite a while before finally speaking: "Do you have time tomorrow?" His deep, soulful eyes seemed tinged with a hint of anticipation, but more than that, an urgent yearning. Yu Zhi suddenly found herself unable to meet his gaze. Her eyelashes trembled slightly: "I haven't done my homework yet." Ah, right—she was still a third-year high school student, and academics were clearly her priority for now. Shi Wei slowly released his hand, and then, just as it was about to lower completely, he clenched his fist again. Noticing the subtle shift in his mood, Yu Zhi raised an eyebrow. "Are you scared?" Inside the house, the curtains were tightly drawn, and if not for a sliver of light filtering through the gap in the door, the room would have been pitch dark, devoid of any illumination. Shi Wei leaned against the wall after opening the door, squinting slightly, his expression tinged with drowsiness. He was still wearing his robe, the collar slightly open, revealing a stretch of pale skin underneath. His demeanor carried an air of restraint, while the partially concealed expanse invited endless imagination. "Why are you here so early?" Shi Wei scratched his head lightly, sending a somewhat impatient glance toward the man. "I've made you soup," Chen Cai replied with a smile, hoisting the thermos higher to signal him. Soup again. Chen Cai, for reasons unknown, seemed to have an odd fixation on preparing soup for him at least a few times a month. This had reached the point where Shi Wei now felt frustrated whenever he saw a thermos. "Chen Cai." Shi Wei's face was utterly expressionless as he called his name: "Do you think I have anything that needs 'supplementing'?" "Boss, that's not what I meant," Chen Cai chuckled awkwardly, rubbing his nose. "You still don't have a girlfriend, and I'm trying to look out for you." As he spoke, his small eyes darted up and down Shi Wei's figure. Shi Wei nearly laughed out of anger, with even his earlier traces of sleepiness evaporating completely in an instant. He delivered a swift kick to Chen Cai's calf. "You must be tired of living." If looks could kill, Chen Cai would already be six feet under right now. "Boss! Boss... I take it back, you win, you always win!" Chen Cai darted three meters away with lightning speed.
