Chapter 276: 255: Ah-Shi, give me one more month.
"It’s her." Meng Han sneered with disdain.
When met with a puzzled look, she explained casually, "Shirui, did you forget that I still have an ace up my sleeve?"
Who Shi Wei loves or who he plans to marry doesn’t matter.
In the end, the one to walk through life hand-in-hand with him will still be her.
Firmly believing this, Meng Han didn’t feel the slightest sense of threat, even plotting how to expedite Fifth Granny’s progress.
"..." Bai Shirui was left speechless.
She tested the waters by asking, "Doesn’t that thing take a long time? He’s getting married next month."
"No problem, Fifth Granny will surely find a way," Meng Han replied.
Seeing Meng Han’s confident and steadfast expression, Bai Shirui didn’t press further.
After all, her job was done, and moving forward, all she needed to do was silently watch from the sidelines.
"Han Han, I have some business at home." Bai Shirui rose gracefully and, once again, patted Meng Han’s head affectionately. "I’ll come back to see you tomorrow."
"Alright." Meng Han nodded.
For the first time, she didn’t get angry at Shirui for leaving first.
Seeing the woman about to touch the door handle, Meng Han quickly called out to her, "Shirui, accompany me to the outskirts tomorrow."
Bai Shirui paused mid-step.
She softly agreed, her eyes briefly flashing with contempt, before leaving the distasteful room without looking back.

It was an idle Friday, and the conspicuous Rolls-Royce once again parked opposite Shengde Middle School.
Not long after the bell rang, Wen Renche picked up the girl with the backpack, and the two headed to the coffeehouse where they had last met.
A gentle and lilting melody floated through the air.
Despite the sunless weather, the warm yellow light in the private room unapologetically lent a sense of coziness.
Wen Renche picked up the glass pot, his jade-white hand slightly bent, pouring steaming fruit tea into the ceramic cup before him.
As the white mist rose, it brushed against the golden rims of his glasses, veiling them in a thin layer of fog.
He handed one of the cups to his left, his amber eyes glimmering with a smile. "Ah-Shi, the day after tomorrow, I’ll be heading to Australia."
The girl’s hand paused mid-air, her long eyelashes trembling with surprise. "Weren’t you not planning to leave?"
Her delicate skin, exposed to the biting wind just during the brief moment getting in and out of the car, had already turned slightly red.
Wen Renche’s gaze fell on a few stray strands of her hair brushing against her temple, and without a second thought, he gently tucked them behind her ear.
"There’s some business I need to take care of," he explained, originally intending to stay for a month before returning to sort out the mess.
But Shi Wei’s announcement of wanting to marry her had thrown his plans into disarray, forcing him to temporarily abandon this side.
Once he had dealt with everything, he would return and reclaim the girl without hesitation or regret.
Yu Zhi lowered her gaze, her crimson lips brushing against the cup’s edge as she took a light sip. "Ah-Che, you know I hate being lied to the most."
Casually uttered, her words carried enough weight to make Wen Renche—usually ruthless and indifferent in the face of turmoil—stumble like an inexperienced youth.
His fingertip instinctively rubbed against his index finger while he maintained an outward calm. "Ah-Shi, I am not just anyone."
Yu Zhi turned her head and gave him a deep look.
That unreadable expression made Wen Renche’s confidence waver further, though he dared not offer more explanation out of fear of worsening the situation.
"Ah-Che, no matter what happens, I’ll always stand by your side," Yu Zhi said, not expecting to draw anything from his words.
She knew him well. When he decided to conceal something, no amount of prying would give her a chance to uncover it.
"I know." Wen Renche let out a quiet sigh of relief.
He skewered a piece of macaron and brought it to her lips, his amber eyes brimming with affection. "After all, I’m your Ah-Che, aren’t I?"
I am yours.
The hidden meaning behind these four words was something Wen Renche longed to whisper into her ears countless times through countless nights.
Anticipation filled his wait for a response, a moment stretched endlessly in his mind.
Yu Zhi brushed away the faint anomaly flickering across her mind and replied without overthinking, "When will you come back?"
Her simple answer ignited warmth in Wen Renche’s chest, making him feel as if he were thawing from a harsh winter into the flourishing bloom of spring.
Like peach blossoms glowing across endless landscapes, soft petals drifting at his feet, his heart surging.
Unable to restrain the emotions he had long suppressed, Wen Renche pulled the girl’s wrist and enveloped her tightly in his arms.
Caught off guard, Yu Zhi’s tea spilled over his hand. She frowned lightly, "Ah-Che, doesn’t your hand hurt?"
Wen Renche brushed his fingers through her soft, jet-black hair, letting her unique fragrance wash over his senses.
He smiled with contentment. "It doesn’t hurt."
Against the endless yearning and waiting, the sting on his hand was trivial, insignificant.
"Let go of me first," Yu Zhi complained, trying to wriggle out of the uncomfortable position he held her in.
Wen Renche acted as if he hadn’t heard, pulling her even closer.
His voice dropped to a husky whisper. "Ah-Shi, will you wait for me?"
Wait for me to come back and marry you.
Wait for me to give you a lifetime of happiness.
Wait for us to jointly welcome a new Chapter, a shared future.
Yu Zhi’s attempts at resistance halted abruptly as these words spilled out.
She turned her head, trying to peer into his expression, but all she caught was the scattered strands at his temple. "Ah-Che, what’s wrong?"
Even Yu Zhi, for all her detachment, could sense something was amiss.
"Answer me first, please answer me," Wen Renche pleaded, his voice tinged with longing and an inexplicable fear.
He had come to regard her as the only light in his world.
The light he would give everything to cling to.
If ever that light were to fade, he... he would be as lifeless as the walking dead.
"I will, I’ll wait for you to come back," Yu Zhi reassured softly, patting his back to calm his emotions.
Relinquishing her discomfort under his firm hold, she felt more heartache and guilt toward Wen Renche’s fragility.
His trembling hands tightened around her waist, an overwhelming joy surging through every corner of him, shaking his very soul.
He planted a tender kiss on her hair, his amber eyes shimmering with gentle radiance.
"Ah-Shi, just give me one more month, alright?" Wen Renche reluctantly released her, his pale fingertips grazing across the contours of her face.
Before she could pull away, he withdrew first.
Feeling the ticklish sensation from where his slightly calloused fingertips had grazed, Yu Zhi couldn’t quite adapt.
She raised her brows slightly, her crimson lips curving into a faint smile. "There’s no rush, as long as you’re safe."
"Alright, I promise I won’t get hurt," Wen Renche pledged, raising his right hand in an oath, his heart brimming with fullness from the concern in her eyes.
