Canteen:
Jeremy was aware of the mixed gazes. He used to come here late at night. Now they were surprised to see him come early.
At the same time, Jeremy noticed some unwanted gazes as well. Those people who could show their hostility boldly could be from the Attack Department.
He knew that the incident was not widespread. But people knew it was more or less related to him. However, no one came to confront him.
After pushing down these thoughts, he continued eating his food.
Twenty minutes later,
He walked out of the canteen and headed back to the dorm room.
...
The following day,
The whole City A was in a state of alert. For the past few weeks, the City Wall's defenses had been continuously tested by the Corrupted Tier-2 and Tier-3 Beasts.
The City Governors and other forces in City A knew it was a prelude to an actual coming threat. Now the High Tier Beast Tamers in City A had detected the gathering of the Corrupted Beasts Army.
A few kilometers from the City Wall, the Corrupted Beasts Armies were gathering in large numbers. The Corrupted Beasts were normally guided by instincts.Rarely did they use their minds.@@@@
But this time, under the command of powerful Corrupted Beasts, they were gathered here. There were countless numbers of Corrupted Tier-1 Beasts followed by Corrupted Tier-2 Beasts.
There were also huge numbers of Corrupted Tier-3 Beasts following them.
Then, hundreds of Corrupted Tier-4 Beasts were behind them to support. However, they were not the ones commanding. Behind them, ten Corrupted Tier-5 Beasts were deep in the wilderness.
It was still unclear whether the Corrupted Tier-5 Beasts were acting on their own. They had intellect similar to that of Tier-5 Beast Tamers.
They were capable of making decisions. But if they were driven by instinct, then the Corrupted Beasts would continue to attack until the last one was left.
The corrupted beasts had an advantage in numbers. A single corrupted beast could give birth to more cubs. Despite being hunted down by the human Beast Tamers, their numbers had been constantly increasing.
"I guess you have already figured out the purpose of the meeting. I have been asked by the city administration to send manpower support."
"It's reported that there are hundreds of Corrupted Tier-4 Beasts. The number of Corrupted Tier-5 Beasts identified so far is 10."
"We still don't know the status of the Corrupted Tier-6 Beasts yet," she said in a solemn tone.
Gasp!
Some sucked in a cold breath of air.
"Hundreds of Corrupted Tier-4 Beasts. Not all of our 4th-year students have become Tier-4 Beast Tamers," one of the senior elders said.
Violet Heath's face was filled with worry. With her strength, it was difficult to fight against thousands of Corrupted Tier-3 Beasts, let alone the hundreds of Corrupted Tier-4 Beasts.
Ernest Knox's face did not look good either. It wasn't that they were afraid of fighting, but the numbers coming out of the wilderness were too shocking.
The numbers were simply overwhelming for City A.
"We should request assistance from other cities," Ernest Knox suggested.
"The City Governors are already working on that," a female elder refuted.
"They haven't exactly requested tiers of Beast Tamers from us. Maybe we can form a team from each year and then send them to the city wall to assist."
"In this way, we won't attract criticism. We can also reserve some students. Sending all of them would be a bad idea," an elderly man commented.
"Good idea," the female elder said in support.
"Dean, we can't afford to send everyone. The City Administration would definitely be happy if we did that. But sending inexperienced students would be like self-sabotage," the female elder added.
Then one after another, the elders voiced their opinions. Some were in favor of sending a small team, while others did not want 1st and 2nd years to participate.
They didn't have a clear count of Corrupted Tier-1 and Tier-2 Beasts. Rumors were that their numbers were at least in the thousands.
Sending the 1st and 2nd years there was a way for them to become cannon fodder.
