They were currently at Maiden's Peak Harbor, surrounded by crowds of tourists, along with Misty and May. This wasn't a suitable place for a clash of such magnitude. Gastly was momentarily taken aback by the revelation of Mewtwo's strength. However, instead of retreating, it grew exhilarated. For centuries, this Gastly had lorded over the area, effortlessly controlling both humans and Pokémon alike. At long last, a worthy opponent had arrived. In an instant, Ash, Pikachu, Mewtwo, and the millennium Gastly vanished, reappearing in the heart of a remote mountain wilderness. "Let's not waste any time. Show me how strong you really are!" Gastly's eyes flashed as a dark purple wave of energy surged forth—Dark Pulse! "Mewtwo, this is our first battle together! Use Teleport, then set up Future Sight!" "Pika-pi!" Pikachu cheered excitedly, rooting for its teammate. Dark Pulse raced through the air with blinding speed, but Mewtwo's Teleport was faster. In a flash, it disappeared without a trace. BOOM! The ground where Dark Pulse struck split apart, leaving a fissure several feet wide and stretching hundreds of feet long. It was as if a laser cannon had obliterated the terrain. Mewtwo reappeared, its Future Sight attack already in motion. Sensing the energy, Gastly whipped around, launching a Shadow Ball with blistering speed. "Figured as much. At Level 99, you can sense power as acutely as Mewtwo," Ash muttered. "Mewtwo, counter with Aura Sphere!" Mewtwo extended a finger, firing a shimmering blue Aura Sphere directly at the oncoming Shadow Ball. The collision triggered a massive explosion, sending shockwaves rippling through the area. The blast shattered boulders and fractured the ground beneath them, scattering the Pokémon of the surrounding wilderness in terror. "Now, use Psystrike!" Ash commanded. This battle was a test of Ash's knowledge of Pokémon moves and strategy. He needed to discern and counter the millennium Gastly's attacks while maintaining Mewtwo's advantage. Mewtwo's hands glowed as it conjured invisible psychic energy, forming a sharp, spear-like force aimed directly at Gastly. "Well played!" Gastly chuckled. Rather than defend, it capitalized on the mushroom cloud of the earlier explosion, casting Hypnosis under the veil of smoke. But Ash was prepared. Using his Aura powers to monitor the battlefield, he had already anticipated Gastly's move. "Not so fast! Mewtwo, use Safeguard!" Just as Hypnosis took effect, the protective veil of Safeguard enveloped Mewtwo, nullifying the attack. Simultaneously, Future Sight's delayed strike activated. The psychic energy rained down on Gastly like a storm, detonating on impact. Gastly retaliated with Payback, amplifying the damage twofold due to the previous hit. The battlefield erupted once more as both Pokémon exchanged devastating blows. "Mewtwo, are you okay?" Ash called out, worry etched across his face. "Pika-pi?" Pikachu echoed, equally concerned. "Hmph, I'm fine," Mewtwo's voice resonated telepathically in Ash's mind. "Compared to battling Mew, this is nothing." Ash smirked. "Good. Let's go again. Use Future Sight one more time!" Before the battle could escalate further, Gastly suddenly floated forward, visibly defeated. "Stop, stop! I'll lift the restrictions on your Haunter!" Ash blinked, dumbfounded. "What? You're surrendering? This is supposed to be a battle!" "Pika..." Pikachu shared Ash's incredulous expression. "Heh, your Pokémon is just too powerful. Even though we can counter each other, I simply can't keep up. Let's end this here. I'll help your Haunter and save my energy." Gastly sulked, clearly regretting its decision to provoke Ash. All the energy it had painstakingly gathered would now be partly relinquished. Suddenly, the familiar ding of Ash's system echoed in his mind. Ding! Congratulations, host! Mewtwo successfully defeated the millennium Gastly. 200,000 battle experience points obtained. Would you like to use an Experience Multiplier Card? Even though Gastly had surrendered, the system still recognized the victory. "System, use the 5x Experience Multiplier Card!" Ash exclaimed, excitement coursing through him. Ding! Experience multiplied. Mewtwo gains 1,000,000 battle experience points! Leveling up... The barrier between Level 99 and Level 100 shattered in an instant. Level 100! Level 101! Level 102! Level 103! Mewtwo's body pulsed with newfound energy, its power surging exponentially. "Unbelievable... Ash, I've broken through! My power has reached the domain of a Legendary God!" Ash beamed, pride evident in his expression. "I told you I'd help you break past your limits!" As Mewtwo ascended to new heights, Ash couldn't help but marvel at what lay ahead.
