"If what you're saying is true, and Chimchar's ability really has this awakened form, then maybe the reason it can't control it... is because it's not strong enough yet?" She quickly explained, "You see, Piplup used to struggle with Bubble Beam—it would pop too quickly. But after training and improving its control, Bubble Beam is now one of its best moves for the Pokémon Contests!" Chimchar jumped in surprise, then suddenly felt an immense warmth surging through it! The flames on its tail instantly doubled in size! At the same time, its entire body started to heat up—it felt like a comfortable warmth spreading through its limbs. This was the energy inside the Charcoal enhancing Chimchar's Fire-type power! Once it fully absorbed the Charcoal's effects, everything would return to normal—but its firepower would be permanently increased. "How does it feel, Chimchar? Do you sense your power growing?" It had finally appeared— The awakened form of Blaze! Author's Note: (In the anime, Ash's Infernape had a unique version of Blaze that was never fully explained.
