Mila Anderson didn’t say anything more and simply told the old lady that she was going upstairs to check on Adele Horne before leaving the hall. Upon reaching the second floor, she went straight to Adele Horne’s room and knocked on the door. "Adele, are you there? It’s Mom," Mila Anderson asked gently while she tapped lightly on the door. No answer came from Adele Horne’s room. Mila Anderson knocked a few more times, but still no response. She then decided to push the door open, only to discover that Adele Horne was not in her room at all. She muttered softly, "Where could this child be? Wasn’t she supposed to be in her room?" After failing to find Adele Horne in the bathroom or on the balcony, she stepped out of the room. Standing at the doorway, she thought for a moment then turned and headed for the staircase towards the top floor. When she reached the top floor, she saw Adele Horne sitting by the poolside, staring blankly at the water as though she was brooding. Mila Anderson tread softly, aware of what her daughter might be upset about. After last night’s incident, she herself had wanted to banish Orlando Evans from the Horne Family, let alone Glades. Although she didn’t favor Julia Bluen now, Julia was technically her daughter-in-law. Perhaps because her own marriage had been disrupted by a third party, she disliked Orlando Evans still being infatuated with Glades. Furthermore, she didn’t approve of her daughter going out of her way to help Orlando disrupt her son’s marriage. She had a considerable liking for Orlando Evans in the past, as Orlando had been her daughter’s friend for ten years. But after last night, her fondness for Orlando had considerably diminished.
