That thick military coat and cap were a soldier’s most crucial defenses against the winter’s chill. Ruby briefly responded to Emma’s feigned concern, then quickly hurried after Marcel’s retreating figure. Emma Wright and Tiffany Alvarez didn’t give up on chasing Marcel just because Ruby did; they also headed outside. The other soldiers cautiously watched this formidable love quadrangle unfold.
