She circled around the vehicle, rushed forward, and with one hand on each of them, forcefully pushed Orlando Evans and Adele Horne apart. They could refuse to buy her clothes, but they had no right to humiliate her like that! "The city management is coming!" Just then, someone shouted, and all the vendors around her hurriedly ran off. Rachel was both angry and resentful, torn between staying and fleeing, as the city management vehicle quickly approached her. Seeing the city management vehicle arrive, Adele Horne smiled even more smugly. "She’s attacking people! Arrest her!" Rachel’s eyes practically shot fire. How could her dear friend have such a horrible sister-in-law! She knew all too well that she was being subjected to this humiliation because of Julia Bluen. She was being bullied, but where was her friend? Suddenly, Rachel bent down and picked up a white garment, the dirtiest one from being trampled. Without a second thought, she swiftly moved forward, pried open Adele Horne’s mouth, and forcefully stuffed the filthy garment inside. Then, she laughed heartily. Adele Horne’s face turned shades of red, white, and purple with anger. While frantically pulling the dirty garment from her mouth, she scrambled to the side, spitting profusely, feeling as if her entire mouth had been tainted. Orlando Evans ran to get her a bottle of mineral water so she could rinse her mouth. And Rachel, inevitably, was taken away in the city management vehicle, along with her goods. This time, however, she felt indifferent about it. After all, she had already vented her anger. Seeing Adele looking as if she had eaten something disgusting brought Rachel immense satisfaction. As for being arrested again, she could simply call Hansen Ruiz for help. So, after getting into the city management vehicle, as it started to move, she took out her phone and dialed Hansen Ruiz’s number. The call connected quickly and was picked up just as fast. "Caught again?" Before Rachel could speak, Hansen Ruiz’s warm voice, tinged with a light smile, preempted her. "Buddy, you guessed right! It’s an emergency; I’ve been caught by the city management again. Now I’m in their vehicle on the way to the City Management Sub-Bureau. I’ll be waiting there for your gracious self to come and save me," Rachel finished with a dry laugh and quickly hung up. An unnatural blush crept onto her cheeks. Hansen Ruiz must be laughing at me, she thought. Never mind him. It was good to have support, and she should use it when she could; otherwise, it would be a waste of his high and mighty status. Thinking this, Rachel felt justified once again. Once again, Rachel Bailey emerged from the City Management Sub-Bureau on Betra Street, giggling apologetically at Hansen Ruiz. Suddenly, a flick to the top of her head caught her off guard. "Ouch." Rachel clutched the spot on her head that Hansen had just flicked and glared at him. "If you didn’t want to come, you didn’t have to! No one begged you! So why hit me on the head? If your flicks make me stupid, you’ll have to compensate me. My brain is very sharp, you know!" Her ordinary little face, flushed with anger, actually gained a touch of beauty. A peculiar glint flashed through Hansen’s eyes, followed by a smile. "I was just waking you up. Next time you see the city management coming, please, run faster. If your driving skills aren’t good enough, practice them before you try to do business again. If you keep getting caught by the City Management Bureau, who’s going to have time to bail you out?" "It was Miss Horne who called the city management," Rachel muttered. She was still upset by Orlando Evans’s earlier actions and hadn’t missed Adele Horne making a call. Initially, she hadn’t known who Adele was calling, but when the city management suddenly arrived with such force, she guessed Adele had reported her. Julia has a sister-in-law like Adele... I really feel sorry for her. To marry a good husband, only to be saddled with such an obnoxious and domineering sister-in-law. "How did you manage to annoy her?" His gentle yet sharp gaze scanned Rachel’s petite frame, making sure she hadn’t been harmed. Only then did he look away, his demeanor returning to its usual gentleness. "Who do you think I am? As if she could hurt me!" Rachel said self-assuredly. HEH HEH! Two soft chuckles reached her ears, sounding particularly grating, as if mocking her. "You certainly have a sharp tongue," Hansen said, laughing as he rather bluntly pointed out Rachel’s overconfidence, making her somewhat cross. "Let’s go. I’ll take you back." Hansen went to his car, opened the door, and gestured for Rachel to get in. Rachel didn’t move. Pointing at her cart and goods, which Hansen had once again paid to retrieve, she asked, "What about my stuff?" "Then I’ll wait for you downstairs at your apartment building. Take your things back first, and don’t try to do any business today. If Miss Horne wants to cause trouble for you, you’ll just get caught again." He knew Adele’s character even better than Rachel did. He had no fondness for such domineering, spoiled young ladies, so even though he and Glades were close friends, he never interacted with Adele. Remembering how she had stuffed dirty clothes into Adele’s mouth, and knowing Adele was a domineering person—not to mention a privileged daughter of the Horne family—targeting Rachel would be incredibly easy for Adele. So, she took Hansen’s advice. She pushed her cart, got on her electric bike, and rode off toward the Emerald Garden Building. Hansen slid into his car but didn’t start the engine right away. With a slight smile, he silently watched Rachel’s petite silhouette retreat into the distance. After a moment, he let out a low laugh, started the car, and quickly overtook Rachel’s electric bike, reaching the Emerald Garden Building ahead of her. He didn’t get out right away but sat in his car, surveying the surroundings of the Emerald Garden Building through the windshield. Although it couldn’t compare to Central Street, the environment here is quite pleasant, he mused. It’s bustling yet serene. The streets are lined with shops, making shopping extremely convenient. There’s also a large bookstore across from the building and a moderately sized coffee shop next to it, which adds a scholarly vibe to Betra Street.
