"I’ll kill you!" the man roared, raising his blade once more to end it. But just then, he froze. His feet refused to move. Confused, he looked down—and saw a pair of bloodied hands clutching tightly around his ankles. "What—?!" Before he could react, his face was smashed into the ground with brutal force. A sharp crack echoed through the room as one of his teeth, along with a spray of blood, flew out of his mouth. His body twitched once before going limp, eyes rolled back, unconscious. Standing where the man had fallen, clutching his side, was a teenager with slick black hair and a mouth stained red. "You should learn to pay attention to your surroundings," Finral said, wiping blood from his lip with a scoff. "Or else, you’ll die sooner than you think." Grey winced as he slowly pushed himself to his feet, every part of his body aching. "Thank you," he said with a tired smile. Finral didn’t reply. He merely scoffed again, but his eyes stayed on Grey—watching him closely, scanning him from head to toe. ’What did he just do earlier? That last move was the Cyclone Kick. It was almost identical to how Dad does it. The only thing is, when Dad unleashes the kick, it’s always destructive. But Grey’s was elegant, precise, and calm. Almost like the wind. No! Just like the wind. Is he evolving as time goes on?’ Finral thought. "What’s wrong?" Grey asked as he quickly turned around to scan the living room. He could see that only a handful of men were left, and Clarice was currently handling them alongside a perverted-looking man. "And would you look at that. The battle is almost over!" "No!" Finral said as his eyes darted around the room, searching for someone—but he was nowhere to be found. "Where’s Dad and the captain guy?" "Huh?" Grey muttered, twisting and turning, but neither Yami nor the captain of the men was anywhere to be seen. "That’s true. Where’s Yami s..." Grey trailed off as the sound of something rattling with immense force from deep within the house suddenly filled their ears. Then, within the blink of an eye, something shot out from deep inside the house and blasted into the air. It passed through the hole in the ceiling and soared into the sky, vanishing into only heavens knew where. "What was that?" Grey asked in confusion, when he suddenly heard Finral gulp loudly. He turned around and saw the teenager sweating profusely. "What’s wrong?" "Crap!" was all Finral could say as he kept staring at the hole in the ceiling. "What’s wrong? Is there something I should know?" Grey asked, panic creeping into his voice. "What was that just now?" "Th... that’s Dad getting serious," Finral muttered, still staring. "Huh? Getting serious? What do you mean?" Grey asked, raising an eyebrow. "Have you ever seen Dad do anything seriously?" Finral asked with a deep frown. "Not really. Yami sir is just so goofy—and at times, silly," Grey replied honestly. "Exactly! I’ve also never seen Dad fight seriously before. Heck, I’ve never even seen him fight at all. But seeing that thing zip out of the house... it means he’s become serious," Finral replied, his voice low as a memory stirred in his mind. He flashed back to when he was slightly younger. He remembered a time he saw his dad sitting in his room, a box in front of him, while something lay in his hands—something he was meticulously cleaning, as if his life depended on it. "Dad! What’s that?" the young Finral had asked, a curious expression lighting up his face. "Thi... this," Yami stuttered with a smile as he lifted the object for Finral to see. In his father’s hand was a gleaming blade, so shiny that his reflection could be seen clearly on its polished surface. "This is a powerful weapon. It’s called a katana blade," Yami said with a proud smile as he returned to cleaning it, saying nothing else for a moment. "I’ve never seen you use it before. Is it that powerful?" Finral asked eagerly as he stepped closer, examining the sword with wide eyes. "Whenever you see me call upon this weapon," Yami said, pausing to grip the hilt firmly, "just know I’m about to take things to the next level. And when I use this—if my opponent isn’t overwhelmingly stronger than me—then they’re cooked." He chuckled loudly, the grip of his hand tightening so fiercely around the hilt that the katana began to radiate a strange aura and surge with invisible energy.
