"Shit! Dante, look out!" Charlotte screamed, her voice laced with raw panic as she pointed frantically behind him. "Shit," he muttered, heart slamming against his ribs. Too late. His body froze. He squeezed his eyes shut, bracing for the killing blow— Swoosh! Thud! Silence. "You really should focus more on surviving than flirting," came a smooth, scolding voice from above, carried on the wind like a whisper from the skies. "Try learning from someone who's actually competent." Dante's eyes snapped open. Charlotte looked up, wide-eyed, and the two of them saw her—perched regally atop a majestic wind dragon, her long hair fluttering behind her like a banner of war. "Oh? It's you," Dante said with a surprised smile. "Lyra." "Yes, lover boy." Lyra leapt down with practiced grace, landing effortlessly on the blood-soaked ground, not even a ripple of imbalance in her stride. "Lover boy?" Dante blinked, his cheeks flushing slightly. "What's with that nickname?" Lyra cocked a brow. "You heard me. And what did I just say about focusing?" She snapped her fingers. Above, her wind dragon responded instantly, conjuring a bladed gust of compressed wind that streaked across the battlefield and impaled a charging wolf mid-leap. The beast yelped before crashing down in a heap. "My bad." Dante sighed, glancing at his body still faintly glowing with the residual energy of his breakthrough. "I can't believe you needed to breakthrough just to handle these beasts," Lyra groaned, facepalming. "You've really grown soft." He crossed his arms. "This coming from someone who got booted from the tournament by a lowerclassman. Why? Oh yeah—because you were too arrogant to break through." "That was a fluke! And what did I sa—" "I realize," Dante cut in dryly. Twisting his leg, he caused an earth spike to erupt from the ground, skewering another wolf that had tried sneaking up on him. "You two are exhausting," Charlotte laughed. "You sound like a married couple." "Eww, never!" Dante and Lyra recoiled in perfect unison. "Grey's the one I love and will marry—not this idiot." Lyra sneered at Dante like he was an unsightly blemish. "Tsk. As if I'd ever fall for an overbloated balloon like you," Dante muttered. "And besides, do you really think Grey would want to be tied to someone like you?" "Charlotte, you'd better tell your boyfriend to shut his mouth before I shut it for him," Lyra growled, wind spiraling dangerously around her palms. "Boyfriend?" Charlotte's voice rose with heat. "What the hell are you talking about? Since when did I say there's anything between us?!" "I knew you were blind, but dense too?" Lyra sighed dramatically. "It's clear as daylight that Dante likes you." "WHAT?!" Charlotte shrieked, her jaw hanging as she darted glances between them. "You fools!" a gruff voice bellowed, cutting through the awkward tension like a knife. They turned to see Dave, battered and bloodied, clawing his way out of the crumbled earth pillars that had imprisoned him. Metal gauntlets encased his fists as he growled in frustration. With a brutal punch, he shattered the remaining restraints. He limped forward, his steps heavy with pain, eyes burning with fury. His lip was split, dried blood caked along his temple from his earlier clash with Grey. But he didn't slow. "Is…" Dave paused, then tilted his head. With a casual flick of his finger, a metal shard whistled through the air and embedded itself into the skull of a beast creeping up behind Dante. "…Is this really the time to talk about love?" he snapped, glaring daggers at the trio. His fists clenched. The veins on his arms bulged with tension. Turning around, he could see Grey still unconscious. His anger now flaring more as he gritted his teeth, eyes glowing fierce white for a second before going back to normal. He inhaled sharply. "We don't have time for spats and banter. Focus on the fight!" he barked. "Who knew you had a brain in that thick skull of yours?" Lyra said with a teasing smirk. Dave ignored her. His gaze shifted to Amir, who was locked in a ferocious clash against three ogres at once. "I'm out." Without another word, Dave sprinted off to join his father in battle. "He's right," Charlotte whispered, steeling herself. Water began to swirl around her in graceful arcs—A shimmering suit of armor made entirely from magically condensed water encased her body. The armor hugged her the body like a second skin, yet flowed and rippled as if alive, with streams of glowing aqua-blue light tracing every contour. It shone with a gentle, oceanic glow, the surface shifting like calm waves under moonlight. The pauldrons were sleek and curved, resembling the fins of a majestic sea creature, while the gauntlets rippled with faint streams of spiraling current. A flowing cape of liquid water draped from the shoulders, endlessly cycling like a reverse waterfall, defying gravity. On the head rested a delicate helm shaped like a coral crown, and from the back, a pair of ethereal water wings formed—sharp, beautiful, and able to launch Charlotte through the air with high-pressure jets. Every movement would leave behind a trail of mist and droplets, as if the ocean itself was dancing around her. This armor not only protected but also enhanced Charlotte's agility, reflexes, and magic casting, making her a phantom of the sea in battle. This was Charlotte's new creation magic. "Water Creation Magic: Valkyrie Dress," Charlotte intoned softly. Dante and Lyra both looked at her, briefly stunned. "She's finally getting serious," Dante said with a smirk, admiration flashing across his face. He raised his hand. Earth surged from the ground, wrapping around his limb. In seconds, armor formed—thick, solid, and battle-hardened. He repeated the process—encasing both arms, his legs, his torso, and finally his head. In moments, he stood covered in formidable Earthen Warden Armor, rough and indomitable. "So shall I," Dante said.
