Chapter 373 "I want you to teach me Ki!" Grey declared with determination, his voice echoing slightly in the quiet evening air. "Huh?!" Yami muttered in surprise and shock as he stared directly at Grey. "You want to learn Ki?" "Yes," Grey nodded with firm resolve, his gaze unwavering. "Why? Just this morning, you said you weren’t interested in learning Ki when I offered to teach you. And now, you’re suddenly interested? What changed your mind?" Yami asked, one brow raised in genuine confusion. "This morning, I was ignorant to Ki’s advantages. I thought it was just going to be useless to learn it since I still don’t know who I am or where I come from." Grey sighed in exhaustion as he shook his head slowly, eyes dim with fatigue. "Who knows, maybe where I come from, we can’t learn an outside power. I don’t even know if the continent or place I come from uses their own powers," Grey continued, his voice quieter now. "I thought to hold on a bit till maybe I regain my memory, but I was wrong. I don’t think I would regain my memory anytime soon. If I’m going to be hunted because of my red hair, then I need to learn a form of defense, right?" "I’m in continent Vayun, and I need to do as the Yun’s do. So let’s learn their technique and power, shall we? Besides, I don’t want to feel so powerless like I felt today. Seeing Millie stand up for me and almost get injured sparked something in me. So please... teach me how to use Ki." Grey bowed his head slightly as he pleaded with Yami, his fists clenched tightly at his sides. "Hmmm... let me think about it," Yami said with a slight frown, stroking his chin as if weighing the request seriously. "No... Yes!" "No?" Grey muttered with a sigh, already deflating. "I thought you would sa— wait! Yes?!" "Didn’t you hear me the first time?" Yami asked, chuckling loudly, his grin stretching wide. "But you initially said no," Grey muttered as he stood upright again, glancing at Yami with a mixture of disbelief and relief. "I like messing around. I wasn’t going to refuse such a sincere request from you," Yami said, eyes gleaming with amusement. "You are part of my family now. You need to learn something to protect yourself, especially since it looks like you’ll be hunted anytime you’re here." As Yami spoke, Grey suddenly remembered that apart from his red hair, there was still another reason for him to get hunted: he lacked the mark that all Vayun citizens had. "Starting tomorrow, you will be joining my disciples in the dojo from 6 a.m.," Yami ordered, his voice leaving no room for argument. Then, without waiting for another word, he turned sharply and made for the door to head inside. "Wait! So early? So quick? You didn’t even give me a chance to prepare!" Grey shouted after him, but Yami was already gone. --- Three hours later The whole family sat at the dining table for dinner, and of course, Yami was missing as usual—locked away in the bathroom. "I feel like one day, Yami would poop his intestines out," Grey commented with a chuckle as he scooped a spoonful of food into his mouth. "You think?" Clarice muttered with a small laugh, her voice calm as she quietly ate her food. "Hey guys! No bathroom jokes at the table. I’m eating!" Millie shouted, her lips pouting in mock anger as she jabbed her fork into her plate. "Our bad," Grey and Clarice both chuckled together. But before another word could be said... "Yo fam! That was the biggest dump I have ever taken," Yami exclaimed as he walked into the dining room, his voice loud and full of pride. The next instant, Millie was seen shooting daggers at Yami with her eyes, though he didn’t seem to notice. "I think from now on, I’ll be eating in my room," Millie said as she angrily began shoving food down her throat, her face scrunched up in frustration. "Why?" Yami asked as he grabbed a spoon and prepared to eat like nothing had happened. "Because you are disgusting," Millie huffed, her cheeks puffing out slightly as she glared at him. "Wait, do you measure your dump anytime you release it?" Grey asked suddenly, raising an eyebrow as he stared at Yami, unable to hold back his curiosity. "Sometimes," Yami shrugged casually. "Keeps me grounded." Clarice could only sigh while Millie looked like she was about to explode. "Of course not. That would be ridiculous and disgusting," Yami waved his hand as he began eating, his expression calm as if what he’d just said was the most normal thing in the world. "That’s such a relief," Grey muttered under his breath, relaxing slightly. "I touch, feel, smell, and also wiggle it around to see," Yami added with a chuckle, and instantly, everyone at the table felt like their food had turned sour in their mouths. "What?!" Clarice, Finral, and Millie all exclaimed in unison, staring at Yami in horror while Grey just dropped his spoon, completely dumbfounded. Yami glanced up from his plate, his mouth half-filled with food, confused by their reactions. "I’m just kidding, guys," he said after a beat, still chewing casually. "I think I’m full now," Finral muttered as he forced himself to swallow the remaining food in his mouth before quickly rinsing it down with a glass of water, face slightly pale. "Yami, you need to stop all these bathroom jokes at the table," Clarice declared sternly as she glared daggers at him. "Otherwise, you won’t eat in this house for a week." "Yes, ma’am!" Yami shouted, saluting dramatically toward Clarice like a soldier being given orders. ’Yikes! What a scary woman,’ Grey sighed inwardly, forcing a small smile to hide the headache building up behind his eyes. Another sharp wave hit him, but instead of crying out, he clenched his fists tightly under the table, gritting his teeth hard without letting the pain show. "Before I forget," Yami said suddenly, drawing everybody’s attention back to him. His voice cut through the room like a sudden gust of wind. "Grey here said he wants to learn how to use Ki." "Really?" Clarice asked, her stern expression softening into a wide smile as she turned towards Grey, who forced a small smile back at her despite how drained he felt. "So from tomorrow, he’ll be joining the dojo. But he’ll be personally taught by me," Yami declared casually, as if he had just announced what was for breakfast. ’Great! Favoritism,’ Finral thought bitterly as he glared at both Grey and Yami, his jaw tightening. ’Why not also make him the head of our dojo since Dad wants to ignore the rest of us for this fool.’ "So, Finral," Yami continued, turning to his son with a calm but serious tone. "You and the strongest student will take over the dojo. Teach the young ones everything I’ve taught you over the years." Finral’s mouth fell open in shock. His hands, which had been clenched under the table, slowly loosened. "Really?" Finral asked, surprise evident in his voice. "Yes. Take care of the young ones and teach them all I have taught you," Yami said with a small smile, nodding his head firmly. "But why?" Finral asked, unable to hide his confusion. "Because I trust you," Yami said simply as he took a long chug of water and then turned fully toward Finral, his expression serious. "You are strong, trustworthy, and you care about the dojo more than anybody. That’s why I’m assigning you and him the task. Now, I hope you aren’t upset I’m going to give Grey my full attention." "Of course not, knock yourself out," Finral said with a strained smile as he waved his hand in the air, though anyone paying attention could see the tension still lingering in his eyes. "So, Grey," Yami said as he stood up from his seat, his grin returning as he looked at Grey. "Be ready. Tomorrow at six, we begin training." With that, Yami exited the dining room, his footsteps echoing softly in the quiet that followed his departure. __ {A/N} Hey Magus Legion!
