She stood up in shock as she stepped forward in horror. Her gaze fixated on the gaping hole in the wall and where Grey was flung. "Sheesh! I thought he would even amount to something. I guess I was wrong. Is he a new recruit or something? The red brigade members are not usually this weak in combat," the man mumbled a bit too loud, making sure Millie could hear everything loud and clear. "For the last time, he is not a terrorist!" Millie shouted as she had her hands tightly clenched, her eyes darting between Vanessa’s unconscious body and where Grey had been flung. "Dad handed Grey over to us for protection while we run an errand for him. But because of you all, I’m now going to fail this simple mission! Don’t you all get it? Does he look like a terrorist to you all? Look at him! He is so frail and weak that a single blow from you knocked him down. Does that kind of person look like a red brigader? You all are just being pieces of shit!" Millie shouted in anger. "Didn’t your parents teach you?" the man asked as he took a single step forward and appeared in front of Millie, startling her. "Respect your elders." Bang! The man’s hand flared forward, and a slap landed on Millie’s face. The next second, her body was hurled away from the man, bouncing on the ground before coming to a skidding halt beside her unconscious sister. "I... I... I will make sure to make you pay!" Millie shouted as she forced her weak body to stand up, tears in her eyes, blood dripping from her mouth as she kept staring at the man in front of her. "Brother Grey wanted to protect me despite being so weak. And now, I will do the same even though I don’t have any more Ki energy." "Tsk! Stand down," the man said as he took a single step and appeared in front of Millie again. It felt like he was teleporting, but he was merely using his Ki to move faster than Millie could track. Boom! His hand shot towards Millie’s face, but there was no weight behind it. Then, a small pain was felt on his head. Twisting around, he could see Millie skidding away from him with a frown. "Once bitten, twice shy!" Millie roared as she blitzed straight for the man with all her speed. Leaping off the ground with all her might, she attempted to throw a punch at the man, but the next instant, her hands were grabbed, causing her to hover in the air in front of the man. "I have had enough of a brat like you. Just die," the man said as he lifted Millie above his head with a single hand, swung her around his head twice, and then hurled her away from him. Bang! Bam! Boom! The sound of something heavy making contact with a wall was heard. The sound of something crunching and breaking filled the air as dust got kicked up, and a few seconds later, it settled to reveal a bloody Grey holding onto Millie in his hand. Eyes fierce, teeth gritted, body bleeding and bloodied, it was a miracle he could even stand. "Are you okay?" Grey asked as he glanced at the stunned Millie in his hands. "Brother," Millie croaked out with tears in her eyes, which made Grey smile softly. "It’s okay. You did your best. Now I’m here. I will handle the rest," Grey smiled as he let the little girl down and then stood upright. His hands tightly clenched so hard that his nails dug deep into his palms, drawing blood, and then... Crackle! The sound of lightning crackling in the air faintly was heard as sparks danced across Grey’s fingers before finally dying down. "A hero in a bloodied body. What can you possibly do?" the man asked as he took a step forward, and in the next instant, he was in front of Grey. Swat! Bang! The man swung his palm forward, and it slammed into Grey’s face, causing him to spit out blood as he was sent skidding more than a few meters in pain. Finally coming to a halt, he fell on his knees as he tried to catch his breath. His teeth were still gritted as he looked up to stare at the man, who had a small frown on his face. "Lower that gaze, you terrorist!" the man shouted as he bolted for Grey, and in the blink of an eye, he was in front of him, unleashing a Ki-filled uppercut that lifted Grey’s body up. Before he could even go flying, the man grabbed onto his legs and slammed him back down with a sickening crunch and a Ki-filled explosion, so that a deep crater appeared beneath Grey’s body as he coughed out a mouthful of blood. "Let my brother go!" Millie shouted as she dashed towards the man with all the speed she could muster. Then, with a strong leap, she sent a roundhouse kick flying towards the man’s head, but her legs were grabbed by the man, who didn’t even spare her a glance. "I told you, stay back," the man growled slightly as he stood upright, lifting Millie above the ground with a glare. "No!" Grey coughed out as he looked at the man, and instinctively, he felt like the man was about to do something terrible to the little girl in his hands. "Die!" the man shouted as he prepared to fling Millie away, when Grey used whatever strength he had to push himself off the ground and then leap up, grabbing a broken sword laying a few inches away. "Come on!" Grey shouted as he used whatever speed or strength he had left to blitz towards the man, and then, with a leap, he crashed down into the hand holding onto Millie with the broken sword falling down. Clang! That was the sound that was heard as the sword struck the man’s hand. The broken sword shattered even further as the man dropped Millie, causing her to fall with a thud. "You should have gently come with me when you had the chance," the man growled slightly as he swung his Ki-infused fist towards Grey’s face with immense speed. ’Shit! Am I going to die like that? Crap! I swear if I have a next life, I will find who controls my story and tear them to shreds!’ Grey cursed internally as he instinctively closed his eyes in fright when— "I know you don’t have Ki, but this can only work once, so take two freaking steps back!" a voice Grey was familiar with shouted, and Grey didn’t know where the force or energy came from, but he quickly leapt back just in time as the man’s fist grazed his face while a huge energy exploded from his fist, rupturing the ground Grey stood on earlier. "You saw this before, use it again!" the voice shouted. ’Saw it before? Wh...’ Grey was about to curse the voice when it finally clicked in his mind. "Come here, you rat!" the man shouted as he leapt up and came crashing onto Grey’s head with his leg raised in an axe kick. ’To the side,’ Grey mumbled inwardly as he quickly used whatever strength he had to pivot to the side, letting the man’s leg crash into the ground, kicking up dust, debris, and part of the ground. ’Please! Whoever is listening! Whoever is watching and governing my life, give me strength to execute this successfully and save the girls! Please!’ Grey screamed inwardly as he bolted for the man, who was trying to regain his footing when— "And attack!" Grey roared as he swung his fist forward with all his might, silently praying for a burst of strength, even just a little bit, and as if his prayers were heard, the wind howled at his command and then— Bang! Boom! A condensed, huge gust of wind erupted from Grey’s fist and slammed directly into the man’s neck with so much force that he was sent hurling into a wall while the wind kept slamming him into it until the wall crumbled down. The man fell down with the crumbled wall as he lost all consciousness, and at the same time, with a sigh of relief, Grey also fell on his knees with a sickening thud as he heaved in and out in pain. His body shook, his breath ragged, but his heart felt lighter knowing that—for now—he had protected the ones he cared about.
