Chapter 242 242: Attempting to Drug Him, and Food Prep?

"Put me down," Neraxis said, squirming around. However, the two girls didn't listen to him, as one held him by his legs and the other gently lifted him up under the armpits before carrying him away. Neraxis was confused—not because of how assertive they were, but simply by how silent they had become. After all, just a few hours ago, he'd seen them relaxing inside a pool. Of course, they were extremely pissed after he sent them the typo message, but did it really warrant such treatment? "We're going to be taking you somewhere. Oh, and also..." Aella trailed off as she suddenly turned around and, with one hand, pulled out a strange-looking needle. Neraxis raised his brow in amusement. "You're drugging me?" "You could think of it that way," Celina chimed in. "We've been a little worried about you, and your constant disappearances aren't helping either." "Well, the thing is—" Before he could finish, Aella brought the needle down. However, as if it wasn't obvious already, his skin wasn't penetrated, and that makeshift needle merely bent at an odd angle, snapping off. "Huh...?" Aella muttered. "Neraxis? W-Why is your skin so tough?" "I got a little stronger," Neraxis chuckled. "Aside from that, how is the assignment going? I wasn't there for a while—any incidents?" Aella shook her head. "Ariella saved two students already, and surprisingly, one of them was Kael Sylvaris." "Kael?" Neraxis's brows furrowed. "How could he possibly be in any danger? All these monsters here are weak." "They aren't," Celina said, sighing. "They might seem weak to you, but each one takes us all we have just to kill them." "Yeah... and earlier, there was some very strong monster that appeared, but Ariella dealt with it too," Aella added. "She's pretty capable. I'm starting to like her, actually." A faint smile tugged at Neraxis's lips. "I see. That's good to know. Can you take me to camp? I think I need to rest for a while." After all, since his main skill was removed, he now had other problems to deal with. His destructive powers would decrease significantly because of the lack of Gluttony, but at the same time, he wasn't exactly planning on destroying worlds in his free time. Not yet, anyway. At least the body compatibility went down. Now I only have to deal with 4% of the Eternal Sin's power... which is still a lot, but more manageable than what it was earlier, Neraxis pondered. Nonetheless, he felt strength slowly return to his body, and while the confused girls were in the middle of carrying him, they halted. It wasn't because they noticed his condition, but because of what was in front of them. A massive worm shot out from the ground, heading toward them. Just as Neraxis was about to intervene, however, he saw both Aella and Celina focus before entering their stances. Celina went up front to face the worm, while Aella stayed in the back. But there was one thing slightly different about Celina and Aella. Celina started using the dagger sheath he had given her, and as for Aella, she ditched the staff and began using some sort of sniper rifle. However, it only appeared as a sniper at first glance, as the moment she shot, a thin yet powerful blue energy blast shot out, heading straight for the side of the worm's body. And even more surprisingly, it pierced through it, leaving behind a hole. Celina took advantage of that hole, and before the worm could head into the ground, she dashed toward it, pulled a pouch from her dimensional storage, and proceeded to throw it directly at the hole in the worm's body. Immediately, it exploded into weird pollen, and not even a moment later, he could see the pink skin of the worm turn green—almost in an instant. And after just a few seconds, it stopped moving altogether. "Phew..." Aella let out a relieved breath as she turned toward him with a victorious grin. "See? We got a little stronger too." "That was pretty impressive." Neraxis whistled. "But don't you think your movements are too stiff? The same goes for Celina. Why do both of you hesitate so much before attacking?" "What? We don't?" Aella tilted her head. "I shot the monster as fast as I could, and Celina waited for her chance." "I could've gone in sooner, but then I'd be risking my life for nothing," Celina added, her eyes narrowing. "Sorry if that wasn't good enough for you." "That's not what I meant..." Neraxis sighed. "Sorry, I'm just a little alert, so it seemed a bit different for me." With that done, however, he stood up—to the surprise of both the girls. "Anyways, you two did get stronger. I'm proud of you," he said warmly, earning a slight blush from both Aella and Celina. Nonetheless, he realized the problem earlier. His {Primordial Presence: Eyes of Time} was still on, meaning he saw three seconds into the future. It's an overpowered effect, but it's way too easy to get lost... Neraxis thought, dusting himself off and then walking over to the girls. As he arrived, he placed his hands atop their heads, gently stroking their beautiful hair. "I won't be disappearing for at least the next couple of weeks, so now, we can do whatever you would like," Neraxis said softly. Immediately, Celina's brow twitched, and Aella's face beamed. "Then do you want to help us with dinner?" Aella asked, expectantly. And since he already promised, Neraxis nodded. "Sure, lead the way." Obviously, he could probably get there faster by simply teleporting, as it was still somewhat bright out. But of course, if he did that, then both of these girls would be left without clothes. Maybe some other time, Neraxis thought with a chuckle, and after half an hour of walking, they finally arrived at some fancy campsite with four colorful tents scattered around and a bonfire in the middle. And unsurprisingly, the only other people present were Eris and Aurelia. Eris was sleeping in a jacuzzi, and Aurelia was browsing through some manga. "Now then," Aella said, her smile widening. "Let's prepare some food, shall we?"
