He went over the plan again with Amaterasu, and now, he felt like he was ready. To tickle her to death, of course. An opponent so strong—but if he could close the distance, then it would likely be a game-changer. Anyways... "Amaterasu, what happens after I clear this tower?" "I don't know. My father made this tower before I was even born. I just inherited it," Amaterasu replied softly. "Hmm... So I get the skill, and the tower disappears," Neraxis noted, turning to Amaterasu. "What about you? What happens to you?" "To me...? I think if the tower really does disappear, then I will simply lose my medium but still exist," she replied, sounding a tad glum. But who wouldn't sound glum if their home was destroyed? Even if it was a prison, she still lived here. Amaterasu seemed lonely, and for someone like her to simply fade away and disappear somewhere would not sit right with him. [It might seem a bit stupid... But if you want to help her, why not put her inside the necklace?] Evangeline suggested. [Seraphina is already inside, and she's pretty strong. Definitely not a Celestial, but probably a Transcendent, just like I was. They should get along... probably.] A roommate...? Yeah, I'll think about it, Neraxis nodded as he returned his gaze to Amaterasu, who had, over the course of a few minutes, scooted closer. "How does it feel to play those game thingies? I saw people having a bunch of fun playing them," Amaterasu asked, her eyes practically shining. "Games? I haven't played many, but..." Neraxis trailed off as he pulled out a miniature console and a monitor. "I have this. Not sure if you can plug it in anywhere but—" His words were cut off when Amaterasu suddenly reached over, grabbed the console, and connected it like a professional. She placed the monitor on the side of her bed and closed her eyes. In the next moment, he noticed the console beginning to beep, as it somehow started up. The same went for the monitor. As everything began glowing, her trembling—yet excited—hands traveled toward the controller before playing around with it and selecting a game. It was some game about placing pixelated blocks and killing zombies—seemed pretty fun. <The Sun God says they might be a little busy for a while, so you may leave whenever. The 8th floor will be a battle royale between the climbers, so I'm sure there won't be any issues for you.> "You're too lazy to even talk now?" Neraxis asked, and she nodded, before walking up to a tree in-game, chopping it with her hands and crafting some tools. Did I just create a NEET? Neraxis didn't want to believe it, so he merely got off the bed, leaving her alone as he headed toward the door. "See you later?" he waved toward her, and she waved back with the controller in hand. <The Sun God waves at you, and thanks you for your patronage!> Patronage... Neraxis's head felt like hurting, so he finally opened the door—and as he did, the being from earlier appeared and stretched their hand out. He swiftly accepted, and soon... <You've successfully left the 11th floor!> No notification of him returning to the 7th floor appeared, but he didn't mind. After all, what she was doing was supposedly taboo. Despite that, he flashed a glance around, readjusting to the gravity. Then, the faceless being who brought him here vanished, and finally, he could see the people who had been knocked out stand back up. The same went for Sylas, who stared at Neraxis in shock. "What did you just do?" He sounds like a broken doll, Neraxis thought with furrowed brows, as he pointed to Liza and a few other people. They managed to make the scythe, even if it was shabby. Liza was the last one to finish due to her working on it alone—but surprisingly, her quality seemed the greatest. "Your trial is over, Sylas. End it now." "No, we're not done yet—" Before Sylas could finish his words, the system messages fell. <Forcefully ending the trial!> <Solaris Tower - 7th Floor Elite Mode: Sunforge Arena - Complete> <Climber: Neraxis Valen> <Current Progress: 7/10 Floors> <Solaris Tower - 8th Balanced Mode: Elimination Chamber - Available> <Do you wish to enter?> <Yes/No> Neraxis scoffed as he pointed the middle finger at Sylas. "You weren't even close to beating me," Neraxis said, as he dashed over to Liza, who was the slowest to get up. He picked her up and gently tapped her on the face a couple of times until she finally shot awake. "W-Where am I!?" "Still here, sadly," Neraxis explained—and just as Sylas was about to strike from behind, he pressed "Yes." Liza looked at the messages, puzzled, before doing the same. Soon, the two vanished. Neraxis couldn't help but grin, and after a few seconds, he reappeared somewhere. It was a dark room, with eerie flashing red lights above him. There seemed to be dried blood splattered everywhere, but he ignored it for the time being. After all... <Solaris Tower - 8th Floor Balanced Mode: Elimination Chamber> <Objective: Be one of the 2 groups that survives elimination.> <Status: Started!> Neraxis could see pairs of climbers appearing everywhere, each one's expression contorting upon reading that message. In total, there were 15 of them—with one person not having a teammate. It was his fault, but it didn't matter, as the trials were designed in such a way where, in the end, nearly everyone would have to die. So for her to die here was simply bad luck. After all 15 climbers appeared, they all scattered—clearly avoiding Neraxis and Liza. "What happened while I was crafting? Why are they so scared of you?" she asked, puzzled. "I might've played a little too rough with them," he replied with a shrug, not going into too many details. "Just know that we're going to be one of the surviving teams—" Neraxis suddenly stretched his hand out, grabbing hold of an arrow that was about to make contact with the back of Liza's skull. It was extremely hot—even for him—so he merely broke the arrow in two and threw it aside. His regeneration healed the wound, but whoever did that was a bit too strong for his liking. But just as he thought that, he saw a peephole in the wall—and through it, a tiny glint. The glint traveled away from him, until finally, it landed on another group of climbers. Just as he thought, an arrow shot out at a speed which the group couldn't react to, so the man now had a clean hole through his head. As for the woman, before she could scream, another arrow flew—piercing straight through her heart and killing her in an instant. They are shooting arrows from guns? Neraxis thought, his brows furrowed. There had to have been a pattern, especially since they focused on the climbers that were moving. The moment he clocked that, Neraxis glanced up at the flickering red lights, and out of curiosity, decided to move while they glowed red. In the very next moment, an arrow shot right at his head—which, like the previous one, he caught and broke into two. Neraxis waited until the flickering light went out, then took a couple of steps Just as he thought—the snipers only shot those who moved during the red light, and spared those who moved when it was off. Thankfully, Liza was frozen in fear from earlier, so he didn't have to worry about her. As for the time being... I need to do some quick culling.
