Damn it, why is it exploding now? Neraxis thought with frustration.
Both he and Sona were running away as the Kraken continued to expand.
It was the first time his Mark of Destruction did not instantly work, and from the looks of things, it wouldn't work anytime soon.
Therefore, his best bet was to get the others as far away as possible.
Arriving before Emily and Aurelia, he said, 'We need to move. That thing is going to self-destruct."
"I can see that," Emily remarked with a frown. "My question is, can we even run away from that?"
"Do you want to stay and die, or run and find out?" Neraxis said. "Be my guest, but I'm taking Aurelia along anyway."
"I'm not staying, genius. Everyone—especially you, Sona—grab the weakest club members and go, okay?" Emily stated, and Sona nodded in response.
"Alrighty, Jack, Liz, stand still," Sona said with a smile, approaching two people and picking them up.
Soon, she dashed away, and both Neraxis as well as the others followed suit.
The Kraken kept expanding, but it had yet to explode, which made him a bit skeptical.
It was exploding, right?
[I wouldn't be so sure...] Evangeline said in a dire tone. [I think it's summoning other monsters.]
Seriously... That's even worse than it exploding. He glanced toward the Stradon Fortress. But I guess it doesn't matter, this is just a historical structure... Who cares if it falls.
It seemed like he had jinxed it, because the moment those thoughts formed, the ground shook, nearly making them trip in the shallow water.
And not even a single second later, he could see the elevated island on which the Stradon Fortress sat collapse on itself, the rubble heading directly toward them.
This can't get any worse... he thought with a frown.
Nonetheless, they got away, back to land, where not even a single monster was.
In addition, Neraxis spotted a few government officials standing by, along with several strike teams of strong Awakened gathered in circles.
One of them made eye contact with him before turning toward the government official and telling him something.
Not even a few moments later, Neraxis saw the government official approach, stopping right in front of him.
"You are a student of Havenspire, correct?" the official asked.
"That is right, sir," Neraxis replied respectfully.
Despite his deep hatred for the government, he wouldn't act like an idiot in public.
She walked up to him before saying, "Nice to meet you, Neraxis. If it's fine, could you show me your wound? I'll heal it up in an instant, promise."
"I don't have any wound," Neraxis shook his head.
It had healed within seconds of him being cut.
"Well, doesn't hurt to be too sure." Sarah chuckled before suddenly engulfing him in a green light.

He felt his body's fatigue go away in an instant before she walked back toward Emily and began talking.
Yet, he was still a bit confused.
Is every single healer in this new world better than Alice?
Nonetheless, he put those thoughts behind him, glancing at the government official who had gone down toward the water and begun eliminating the remainder of the monsters that had actually come out of the Kraken.
But his job here was done. So, Emily called for a ride, and they headed back to the city in silence.
The silence remained until they entered the portal room, and Emily gave him a plastic bag with a thumbs-up. "Good luck. Try to vomit less this time—it builds immunity."
"Got it..." he replied with a sigh.
Soon, they made their way through the portal, and just like before, he hadn't felt anything off—right up until his stomach began churning, and he vomited out everything he had eaten in the morning.
However, despite his current suffering, he knew he was going to go through more once he actually came back to the academy.
Since he'd be asking William for a small favor.
"Are you alright?" Aurelia asked in the midst of his vomiting, and he merely nodded.
But not even a moment later, he handed her two sets of potions, totaling twenty in total.
"What's this?" She tilted her head.
"I'm going to be out for a week or two—maybe less. I don't want your potion stockpile to run out while I'm gone," he explained, making her eyes widen.
"B-But where will you go? We have classes and tests... and other stuff..."
"I believe what I will be doing is more important than classes and tests," Neraxis replied, determined.
"Hurry up, the ride is here," Emily said with an impatient look, staring at the two of them—the only ones still behind near the portals.
Aurelia reluctantly glanced at her before walking over. "Coming, sis."
As for Neraxis? He had to think of a way to convince William to let him enter Dreamspire and not be expelled in the meantime.
It shouldn't be hard... right?
