[Alice's POV] "Lar," Alice called out, approaching him. He was still shopping for shoes, almost as though he actually needed them. "What's wrong?" Lar asked, narrowing his eyes. "It's unlike you to approach me out of nowhere. I thought you hated me." "I don't hate you, I just don't like you," Alice said with a shrug. "But this is a bit more important." Lar grumbled. "What are you waiting for then? Tell me." "He knows we know," Alice stated, making Lar halt in place. "...How?" he asked, speechless. "What really happened, Alice? Did he die when we did? I can feel animosity with him since he's a prick, but I don't think that's the only reason." "As I said hundreds of times already, I don't remember. So stop asking," Alice shot back before turning around. "I'll go tell the others. You can continue shopping for stuff you don't even need." Lar shrugged in response, and soon, Alice began walking away. Clearly, a lot was on her mind. The man she liked—whose body would've made for a perfect plaything—was back, and so was she. Which meant Alice now had a second chance at obtaining him. But... he's much stronger than before, even stronger than me or Lar. She sighed. She wasn't obsessed with him. Not even a little. Neraxis just seemed like a toy, while Lar seemed like someone she could manipulate and kill at some point. Both were pawns, but now she had no way of solving those problems. He knows, I know, and now even the others know. I can't have him easily... Alice complained inwardly before approaching a flower shop. They were all ugly flowers—roses, stuff that wilts away and disappears. On the other hand, humans made much more convenient toys. Soon, she approached one of her potential toys, Asher. He was out buying flowers for his mother, though funnily enough, his mother didn't even exist. Asher was just an orphan putting flowers on other people's graves. "Asher," she called out, startling him. "M-Miss Alice." Asher gave a curt bow, making Alice furrow her brows. "I told you not to bow in public, stupid mutt." "I apologize." Asher stood up, avoiding eye contact. As he did, Alice let out a satisfied sigh. "Neraxis remembers the past just like us. I'm pretty sure he knows the rest of you know as well. So just don't come into contact with him—he will kill you in a heartbeat." "Miss Alice...?" Asher tilted his head. "But I thought he was pretty weak? He seemed like a peasant the last time I saw him." "I am only warning you, Asher. Take care," Alice said as she began walking away. If everything was normal, then the next person she should warn would likely be Bale. After all, he was the first one to remember. Nonetheless, she approached one of the fast food restaurants and spotted an interesting group of people by the side, all of whom were fiercely glaring at her. Those are the girls Neraxis is with. Alice narrowed her eyes but chose to ignore them as she went inside the fast food restaurant and walked over to Bale's table. "Bale—" Her words were cut short when, all of a sudden, Bale's head exploded, sending brain matter everywhere—including into her precious white hair. —AAAHH! —Someone just died! —Call the guards! The crowd scattered in panic, running all around the place, while some stood still and watched the gruesome scene in shock. Fair play, Neraxis. Alice wiped the blood off her face and hair. Fair play. Nonetheless, this was a bad outcome, and she definitely wasn't expecting him to react so fast. The girls Neraxis was always with seemed startled too, scrambling out of there. In the meantime, she decided to purify her hair, face, and everything else so she looked as sparkly clean as ever before going back to her seat in the arena. For the next match, Skryder Academy would be facing Aleus Academy, and from what she remembered, they were weak lightning mages. Therefore, she'd let Lar and Asher deal with it. But there was one thing Alice had to accept, and that was, by the end of this tournament, either Asher or Lar would be killed. It's fine... I can get Neraxis on my own anyway. She smiled seductively. After all, who can resist me? With that, she sat back in her seat and, in silence, waited for the time to tick down until finally, everyone was back—including Neraxis, who sat on the other side of the arena, staring at her with malice. Alice smiled toward him and sent a small wave before glancing at the approaching Lar, who seemed startled. "What happened?" he asked sternly, sitting down beside her. She glanced at him with disgust before standing up and switching seats. "I told you not to get close to me. But for your information, Bale was killed." "Neraxis?" Lar pushed for answers, ignoring her disrespect. "Who else?" Alice let out a giggle. "Also, finish off those Aleus Academy students. I don't want to get my hands dirty." "I hate your authoritative attitude," Lar said as he stood up and walked over to her. "Deal with Neraxis somehow—whether by seducing him or by killing him. Just get rid of him, or else he's going to kill us as well." Who does he think he is? Alice furrowed her brows but nodded nonetheless. And soon, the weird blue box spoke up again. —The second round will soon commence. The participants from Aleus and Skryder Academies, make your way over into the arena. She noticed Lar walking over to Asher, and soon, they jumped off the lifted sitting platform and arrived inside the arena. The Aleus Academy students did the same, but Alice couldn't see anyone nearly as interesting as Neraxis. Only one stood out, a guy with a blue tiger tattoo on his neck, but even he didn't seem like much. This is going to be so boring... Why can't we go against Neraxis's academy already? Alice grumbled, twirling her hair. Soon, the blue box announced the beginning of the round, and in the very next moment, Lar dashed forward, valiantly holding his sword as he approached the guy with the tiger tattoo. While Alice was expecting Lar to win immediately, she was definitely not expecting Lar to be sent flying backward with his sword bent at an odd angle. Turning toward Neraxis to get his reaction, it seemed like he was equally surprised. How cute... my future toy. Alice thought warmly and began tapping her handrest with a bit of anxiousness. After all, if Lar lost, then she'd have to step in—since, she was the strongest among them. The benefits of being a healer—on paper anyway. In reality, she never had healing powers but instead manipulated life itself. Therefore, if Alice were to accidentally kill the guy with the blue tiger tattoo, she'd be let off scot-free. "Alice... I think they're losing." "Clara." Alice turned toward her, flashing a soft smile. "Shut up." "...Oh. Okay." Clare sank back into her chair, her hands trembling. And soon, Alice's fears came true as despite Asher and Lar's teamwork, the tattooed guy was simply too strong for them, even when Lar used Aura and his SS ranked main skill. The man with the tattoo suddenly caught Lar's blade between his fingertips before sending a kick straight toward Lar's abdomen. Lar flew to the sidelines in a streak of lightning, and Asher soon followed, equally stunned. —Winner, Aleus Academy! The second match will begin shortly!
