[Make you an undead...? Why?] Evangeline asked, confused.
They will be able to spot me if I approach. If that happens, then my plan is done for, Neraxis said before adding, A vampire is technically an undead, right? When you turned me into one, all the organs in my body stopped functioning, yet I was still able to move.
[That's right...] She trailed off, hesitation clear in her tone. [I can turn you into a vampire... You will stay one for as long as you don't use any mana or skills.]
That'll do. Thanks, Evangeline, he replied and waited for the turn. However, nothing happened. Is everything alright?
[If I keep turning you into a vampire over and over again... eventually, you'll become one permanently,] she explained.
But he did not see it as a curse. Rather, he couldn't care less.
As long as you are by my side when I'm a vampire, then I don't mind.
[Don't flirt with me while you're asking for a favor.] Evangeline pouted, and in the very next moment, he felt his blood boil—until finally, Neraxis could no longer feel his own heartbeat.
He immediately stopped using all mana, and once he did, the coldness washed over him, sending shivers down his spine.
Nonetheless, he continued walking forward as the mountains were now in sight.
And as for the time...
[03:19:56]
[03:19:55]
Still some remaining.
The surroundings were not as desolate as earlier, as several trees were scattered around, their greenery the only thing giving life to this place.
However, that sense of life faded as he reached the base of the mountain range, where several skeletons roamed
Scouts, he noted inside his mind and approached them.
And just as he had expected earlier, because he seemed like an undead to them, the skeletons completely ignored his presence.
But of course, beings like the Skeleton King, as well as the Armored Skeleton Legion, would quickly find out who he was.
Nonetheless, as he walked past them and was preparing to scale the mountain, a peculiar sight caught his eye.
To the right, there was a massive hole leading into the mountain. Inside it, he could see several figures moving around.
Most were Armored Skeletons, while at the same time, there were a couple of giant Brutes too.
So that's their den. Neraxis narrowed his eyes, focusing closer.
As he did, the sight of an individual in a black robe caught his eye.
They were holding an eerie skeleton-head staff, and with each movement, a new skeleton arose from the ground.
Bingo.
He decided to observe their behavioral patterns while making his way up the mountain.
After all, it gave him a perfect vantage point of what was happening below.
Fuck. Neraxis exclaimed and proceeded to speed up as fast as he could.
Every minute, he {Sword Dashed} onto a faraway bird or even a skeleton until he finally caught up.
Yet as he was no longer that far away, a few messages flashed before his eyes.
[10% of the total civilians have been killed!]
[Note: If casualty count reaches 25%, the trial counts as failed!]
Neraxis grumbled in annoyance as the city finally appeared in the distance.
The wall surrounding it was fully knocked down, with the only thing standing between the civilians and the skeletons being the rubble.
Nonetheless, he spotted a lone figure at the highest point in the city
Jane—she was still at the bell tower, anxiously pacing around.
Therefore, it was time for Neraxis to play his cards.
Looking up to the sky, he waited until she paced in his direction.
And the moment she did, he used {Stellar Dominion: Cosmic Cascade}.
Immediately, a bluish-purple aurora burst out into the air and traveled high up toward the clouds.
In the last moment, he let go of his control over the skill, and once he did, it exploded like one massive, colorful firework.
That seemed to do the trick. For a few moments, Jane stared at the sight in awe, and in the next, she placed her hand on the bell and rang it.
Neraxis could not hear the sound, but once he saw the nearby skeletons fall to the ground lifelessly, he knew it worked.
Sadly, it could not take out the Armored Skeleton Legions, nor the Black Knights.
And of course, he couldn't forget the Skeleton King, who was sitting on the only patch of grass in this land, staring right at Neraxis.
Its bow was laid out on the ground, and he could see a crack running through it.
It broke... A wave of relief washed over him. However, he did not let it get to him, as after all...
[13% of the total civilians have been killed!]
Resting wasn't an option. Therefore, Neraxis used {Sword Dash} and appeared right in front of the Skeleton King before slashing his Aura-covered sword downward.
However, the Skeleton King merely blocked his attack with a massive arrowhead, wielding it as though it was a spear.
"Grew some balls, have you?" the Skeleton King remarked with an eerie chuckle.
"I'd say the same to you, but..." Neraxis trailed off.
"Hahaha! I see we'll be having a fun time together, human," the Skeleton King remarked, entering a battle stance.
"I'm afraid only one side will be having fun here," Neraxis taunted and brought his sword forward.
"After all, you will truly die here once and for all." Read latest chapters at My Virtual Library Empire
