Alex stared at the man with a thoughtful gaze, thinking of how he should deal with him. The Core mage looked at Alex with fear in his eyes, he silently regretted obeying the instructions of the young miss to take this little girl.
Meanwhile, Alex finally finished thinking as he came up with an idea. He wanted to give this fellow a different treatment instead of reconstructing his bones.
Alex summoned his system profile and opened the craftsman skill, the options appeared before him. He first proceeded to pick the lightning element, then customised crafting, and then gave the description of the spell he wanted to craft.
Soon, the system sent a message that the spell was being crafted and he would see suggestions shortly.
While Alex was busy crafting a spell for the Core mage, the other party remained on the ground in an uncomfortable position. He couldn’t see the system’s interfaces and thought that Alex was thinking about something. The man didn’t dare to make a sound or even breathe too loudly for fear of disturbing Alex.
Maybe, just maybe if he behaved well, this monster might have mercy on him and let him go!
After a while, the system had finished crafting and the long list of available spells appeared in front of Alex.
He began to read through the list and quickly found the one that matched what he wanted.
...
[Lightning punishment: create a domain of lightning where hundreds of lightning needles can be mentally controlled to attack a target. Needles can be used to instantly kill a target or cause great pain depending on the desire of the host!]
[Requirement: Two star constellations, Master mage rank!]
[Cost: 25,000 exp!]
.....
The smile on Alex’s face grew as he gave permission for the system to craft the skill. Twenty-five thousand exp points were immediately deducted from his exp balance after he gave the mental command. He was now left with less than 3k exp points!
But he felt satisfied with how he had used the exp points as the new spell was added to his arsenal, his gaze returned to the Core mage who was still on the ground.
The other party flinched when Alex looked at him again and subconsciously held his breath.
"Please, please let me go." The man voiced out in a pleading tone. Alex’s expression remained unchanged, he was still smiling.
The next moment, his eyes changed colour and turned dazzling purple and purple stars appeared around him.
This shocked the Core mage, his mind went blank for a moment because he couldn’t comprehend what was happening anymore.
Didn’t this monster have the space element? How come he is using lightning now?
"Y-you have two elements!" The man screamed in horror after coming back to his senses, he was so startled that his soul almost left his body.
"Hope you keep my little secret...till your last breath." Alex voiced out. At this moment, the two purple star constellations had already formed above him and released oppressive pressure on the surroundings.
"Lightning punishment," Alex mumbled softly.
Immediately after his words, a burst of lightning exploded from the star constellations in the air and formed a dome around Alex and the Core mage.
The dome covered up to fifty meters around them. After the dome formed, countless lightning needles appeared in the air around them. The length of the lightning needles was up to six inches and each one of them cracked with the destructive might of a lightning bolt.
The Core mage looked around in shock and fear. He didn’t know this spell, but those lightning needles gave him a bad feeling.
He immediately turned to Alex and began to beg again, crying and swearing to turn to a new life if Alex let him go. He even ignored his injured leg, where Alex had pulled out a bone, and tried to crawl over to him.
Alex stared at him expressionlessly and silently gave an order with his thought, the lightning needles immediately moved.
Swoooosh!
They shot down like purple arrows and reached the Core mage who was crawling toward Alex the next moment, hundreds of lightning needles drilled into the man’s body like worms digging into mud. They caused him extreme pain and paralysed him at the same time.
"Argghhhhhhh!"
The man dropped to the ground while letting out a soul-crushing scream. His body was stiff from the paralysing effect of the lightning, and the lightning needles destroyed his body and caused him great pain.
He wasn’t even able to thrash around; he just lay there, paralysed and watched hundreds of lightning needles rain down and drill into his flesh.
All he could do was scream and stare at the sky with bloodshot eyes.
Time passed as this continued for over ten minutes before the Core mage finally died from the pain and having lightning destroy his body from the inside. What was left was an empty, scorched corpse.
"The process lasted longer than expected, nice," Alex said to himself, satisfied that the lightning punishment didn’t kill the Core mage too quickly.
After the man died, Alex didn’t use a space vortex to get rid of the body; he planned to bring it back to the stadium.
He grabbed the scorched corpse and took one last look around the place before disappearing.
Back at the stadium, the tournament was still ongoing and not many people knew about what was going on in the inner bowl of the stadium.
Zoran stayed with his wife to comfort and reassure her that their daughter would be found. The Union officers had already started their investigations and some had gone to check the control room of the stadium to look at the security footage.
Meanwhile, after not finding the source of the Archmage’s aura that they had sensed earlier, Julius and Ellie had come to know about Emily’s case. They informed Clint so that he could increase the strength of the search party, and they volunteered to help.
After all, a girl had gone missing in the same place where they felt the presence of an Archmage spell, this matter was obviously beyond what ordinary Union officers could handle.
Outside the stadium, Alex arrived with the scorched corpse; he dragged it behind him with one hand.
Many people immediately noticed him and were shocked; some let out screams, while others whispered with narrowed eyes.
The Union officers who were guarding the entrance of the stadium where Alex was heading also noticed this. His face turned grim when he spotted Alex with the corpse that he was dragging behind him and he immediately pointed his gun at Alex.
"What is this? Stop right there!" The Union officer shouted. He didn’t fire immediately as he could recognise Alex’s uniform as one of the magic academies that were participating in the tournament.
But why was a student dragging a scorched corpse to the tournament venue?
Alex didn’t stop walking, he ignored the words of the Union officer and kept dragging the corpse behind him.
The officer clicked his tongue with a hard expression, and he fired his gun the next moment.
The magic gun in his hands released a buzzing sound and with a brief flash of red light, a fast beam was fired toward Alex.
The beam flew through the air and crashed into a pole that was some distance away. It didn’t touch Alex because he had disappeared!
