Hearing Alex’s words was like hearing a decree from death itself. The faces of the two men turned hideous, and they immediately turned around, intending to flee.
"Nope, can’t let you go yet; we’re just getting started."
However, before they could even take a step, they heard Alex’s calm voice from beside them. Their bodies froze in place as they stiffly turned their necks to look.
There he was, the red-haired kid, standing in between them with a casual smile on his face; the smile of someone who had gone mad!
Before they could react, Alex’s body flickered as if it were an illusion. It turned out it was an afterimage!
The next moment, he appeared in front of the two of them with two bones in his hands. The bones looked like limb bones and were still dripping with blood, and some muscles were still stuck to them.
The two men looked with confusion as to where Alex had found those two bones and why he was staring at them like that. However, their confusion only lasted for a split second before a wave of gutting pain crashed into their senses, and they let out blood-curdling screams before falling to the ground.
The two of them looked at their legs in horror and saw that one of their legs had been ripped open, with their calf bones missing, and fresh blood gushed out from the large, crude cut on their legs like fountains.
Alex stared at the two men who were screaming with a smile still on his face while he played with the two bones in his hands like drumsticks.
"Come on, does it hurt that much? All right, I’ll return it if it really hurts that much." Alex gave a wide smile that reached his eyes as he slowly walked toward one of the men.
He grabbed the man’s injured leg and lifted it while his other hand brought the calf bone closer.
The eyes of the two men widened in terror as they realised what Alex was about to do.
"No, no, don’t!" The man whose leg Alex was holding shouted like a pig being slaughtered.
"Huh, I thought you were screaming because I took it out? You’ll feel better after I return it, trust me." Alex smiled with his eyes closed and the next moment, he roughly shoved the calf bone into the man’s open leg injury.
Squish!
The sound of the bone piercing through the already damaged leg was traumatising, but Alex didn’t stop there as he proceeded to forcefully position the bone back in place with his hand, causing more squishing sounds and more blood to pump out.
The man had screamed so much that he almost lost his voice, the pain was unbearable and he wanted to pass out just to escape it.
Meanwhile, the other Core mage looked with a terrified expression. He didn’t dare to make a sound for fear of this monster coming over to him.
"There, all fixed." Alex stood up and dusted his hands after sticking the bone back in the man’s leg, but the other party was still screaming.
"Seriously, doesn’t it feel better now? You want me to take it out again? Sure, if that will make you feel better." Alex sighed but the wide smile was still plastered on his face as he went on one knee and grabbed the man’s leg again.
"No, no, please stop!" The man yelled, hot tears pouring out of his eyes but Alex didn’t listen. He pushed his hand into the wound again and yanked the calf bone out with extra movements.
"There, it’s out now. What again? You’re screaming that I took it out? You have to be firm in your decision, what do you really want? Okay, let me put it back."
"Still not enough? What about here?"
"Oh my, you’re bleeding so much; I should put more bones to fix it."
"Hmm, it’s too big now, let’s reduce it."
For ten good minutes, the second Core mage watched as Alex did horrifying things to his partner.
Alex had literally taken off almost every bone in the man’s body and either forced them back into the man or placed them in a different location, like putting a calf bone in the man’s arm or taking out a rib and forcefully shoving it into his shoulder.
Alex had even put more than one bone in place of a single bone, too; it was like a horror movie.
At this point, the body of the Core mage only jerked whenever Alex pulled out or stuck a bone. He had long stopped screaming and only stared lifelessly but they were sure that he could still feel the pain.
The ground under the man had turned red from all the blood that had soaked into it and a strong stench of blood filled the air.
After some time, Alex stood up and looked at the man he had reconstructed. Every bone except for his spine and skull had been switched and he barely resembled a human being.
"Now this is what a scum should look like," Alex said with a smile while nodding his head, appreciating the beauty of his work.
To finalise his masterpiece, Alex’s eye glowed with silver white light as stars of the space element appeared around him and formed two star patterns.
A space vortex formed the next moment right beside the body of the bloodied Core mage and sucked him in. After a few seconds, the space vortex turned around and a gust of moist air that carried a stench of blood was spewed out.
After Alex was done with that, he cancelled the spell and turned to look at the other mage.
"It’s your turn now, aren’t you excited?" Alex asked with a smiling face.
The Core mage almost choked on air when Alex spoke to him, he instinctively tried to move back, forgetting that one of his legs was missing a bone.
What creeped him out the most was that smile on Alex’s face. How could a kid be doing such a thing and still be smiling?
How could a kid be so powerful?!
"No, please don’t. I beg you!" The Core mage burst into tears after realising that he was in no condition to run. Besides, he couldn’t outrun this monster.
Alex slowly walked over to him and crouched beside the man.
"Don’t be scared, I have a few questions for you. Who sent you to do this to my sister?" Alex asked in a polite tone.
The man felt his skin crawl from the way Alex spoke but still answered.
"The young miss, the young miss of the Malcolm family sent us!" The man said hurriedly, fearing that Alex might begin to pull out his bones if he answered slowly.
Alex paused and thought for a bit.
"Isn’t that Laura’s family? Did Laura send you to come for my sister?" Alex asked.
"No, it’s the little young miss who sent us." The man shook his head and said.
’Oh, Laura’s little sister and Emily’s classmate.’ Alex thought in realisation. He recalled meeting this little young miss some time ago, he couldn’t help but be slightly shocked now that he knew who sent these people after Emily.
How could such a little girl be this mischievous? He definitely couldn’t let this slide.
After he finished his thought, he returned his focus to the man in front of him.
"Hmm, what should I do with you now?" Alex muttered out loud.
