Chapter 73: 073 The impact of the slap sent him staggering back a few feet and almost fell down. Tristan glared back at her in shock. "What did you do that for?" He asked angrily as he held the wall to steadied himself. "Why are you coming from his room?" Adriana asked as she folded her arms under breasts and stared at him with visible disgust. She had been thinking of what to do about the Omega reappearing here and even asked someone to keep an eye on him but he was more cunning than she thought. "How is it your business where I am coming from?" Tristan replied, his chest heaving. He had only seen her once since he returned and he had pretended like he didn’t. Even when he knew what she was doing with the Alpha. He believed he can only say something about her when he has the right to. Now, he is merely walking on eggshells around the house. "Do you know what I actually like about you?" Adriana started to say and slowly stalked towards him. "You are naive and stupid even at the least expected times. Do you really think doing this will make him like you?". She asked and laughed slightly. "You are disgusting to him. He is just being courteous and didn’t show it". She continued and scoffed. Then leaned closer to his face to whisper a warning. "I do not want to ever see you in his room again or I would tear you apart like a piece of trash that you are". She straightened and continued towards Alpha Mitch’s room. Tristan remained in the same spot after she had gone into the room. He sighed and waited to see if the Alpha would throw her like he had sent him away. After waiting for almost an hour with no sign of that happening, he concluded that she might have said the truth after all. The Alpha might be disgusted by him. He thought and made his way to his room, his cheek still stinging where she had hit. He felt slightly angry at himself for just letting her get away with hitting him but there was little he could do to her when he was this weak. Whereas inside the room Alpha Mitch sat by the window with all his attention on his phone and Adriana was trying her best to get his attention. "What exactly do you want this late?" He asked in annoyance as her voice interrupted him for the second time. "I want you". She said and smiled at him. She blinked several times as if trying to appear cute. Alpha Mitch frowned and shook his head. "Blinking like that makes you look like you caught a fly in your eye". He said coldly and returned his attention back to his phone. Adriana cussed him in her mind as he didn’t look affected by her. She had resorted to that because she thought he was interested in weak and feminine partners like the Omega and she tried to act like one. She left in frustration and anger after a few hours of futile attempts to impress him. "I know just how to deal with you" she thought angrily as she stormed towards her room. *** The next couple of days passed rather peacefully. The two of them had their meals together and talked for some time but that was it. The Alpha seemed to be maintaining some sort of distance from him and that was making Tristan uncomfortable. After dinner tonight he returned to his room as usual and requested for a glass of water. He brought his medications and was waiting for his maid when the door opened and just took out the pills without looking up, assuming it was her. "Why do you have so many drugs?" The Alpha voice sounded and he looked up sharply. He gasped and tried to hide them as the Alpha frowned at him. "I...the doctor g-gave them to me". He stumbled on words nervously. The maid returned and saved him from the Alpha’s intense gaze. Alpha Mitch left the room and to his study to call Boston. Boston came after a few minutes. Alpha Mitch didn’t bother beating around the bush and just asked him directly. "What did the doctor say is wrong with him?" He asked with a crease between his eyebrows. Boston was lost for a few seconds until he realised he was talking about the Omega. "Just fever and tiredness". He replied, lying effortlessly as he recalled his promise to Adriana. Although he was curious if the Alpha still hadn’t found out. Just being together for a few days should have exposed that. He thought in disbelief. Alpha Mitch trusted him a lot and didn’t even doubt his words. He nodded in thought and gestured for him to leave. But the Alpha was still worried and thought of bringing in another doctor to take a look at him. In his room, Tristan lay on his side and his breath came in slow intakes. His maid sat beside him and patted him gently on the shoulder. "I think you should tell him, he would understand". She said softly as she continued to pat his shoulder gently as if to bring him to sleep like a child. Tristan looked up at her after she said that and he closed his eyes again. "I cannot, it’s not a good time to tell him". He replied weakly. The maid shook her head and she looked at his frail body that looked like it would give out at any moment. "How can he be so adamant? This is so dangerous!" She thought in frustration but remained silent anyways. She slipped out of his room a while later after he had fallen asleep. She flinched as she walked into Adriana that was waiting outside the door. "I want you to do something for me". She said in hushed tones and gestured for her to follow.
