Chapter 65: 065 Tristan woke up with a frown, the sound of the beeping machine beside him had slowly infiltrated his sleep. He wanted to switch it off but he noticed the pale and blank wall of the room. "Am I dreaming?" He thought but soon heard someone soft snores. He looked beside him to see Nita perfectly laying beside him and deeply asleep. "This isn’t a dream," he said out loud. He cannot remember coming here and knew that it was a hospital. "Nita". He called and gently tapped her. Nita stretched for a few seconds before her eyes widened as she remembered where she was. Getting off the bed, she bent to touch his face. "Are you okay?" She asked. Tristan frowned and shook her hands off. "Why won’t I be? Why are we here?" He asked and tried to sit up but a deep pain sliced his lower body and gasped and fell back to the bed. "No!, don’t try to get up. Let me get the doctor" She said and hurried out. "What?" Tristan frowned at the strange way his body felt. Aside from the pain, he felt heavy and out of sorts. He groaned and rubbed his hand over his face. Nita returned with the doctor in a few minutes. "How are you feeling?" The doctor asked and he noticed Nita’s expression. He wanted to ask why they both seemed eager but someone walked inside. "Boston is also here?" Tristan asked Nita with a deep frown. Nita nodded and smiled awkwardly. That didn’t make him feel any better and his confusion grew. He could vaguely tell that Nita was hiding something from him. And that only means he is sick or something. "In a few hours you would be able to go home" The doctor announced before leaving. Nita turned to Boston and gestured for him to leave them alone. Quietly, he left after the doctor. "What is going on?" Tristan asked, unable to take the tension. "Something is wrong with me, isn’t it?". He said even before Nita could respond. "No, nothing is wrong with you. Actually, maybe a little" she confessed. Tristan gasped but she grimaced at him. "Did you and Trevor...have sex?" She asked bluntly, Tristan shuddered and moved back. "No! That’s impossible. And why are you– "Then it’s the Alpha". Nita said to herself, relieved. "What is going on?". "You... uhm... You are pregnant" She said softly, and flashed him a nervous smile. Tristan laughed at her words for a few seconds. "I’m not joking". Nita continued as she noticed he didn’t believe her. Tristan stared in her eyes for any loopholes or a slip in her act but there was nothing. His heart skipped a beat and began to beat rapidly. Pregnant? "And according to the doctor you have been too far away from your Alpha. So... you need to return to him". Nita said carefully. Her heart squeezed painfully as she watched the colour drain from his face. "No!" Tristan said sharply. "I would not go there. Nita it’s impossible for me to go there. He would think I– He paused and took a shaky intake of breath. He covered his face with his hands and stayed like that for a while. "It is harmful for you not to go, I know how you feel but this is important". Nita assured as she smoothened his hair. "I’m important too, I cannot." He yelled, his voice cracking and with tears pooled in his eyes. Nita went quiet and sat down on the chair beside the bed. There was little she could do, she couldn’t force him to go there and she would support his decisions. The doctor returned while they were still basked in the heavy silence. "I’m going to write some prescriptions for you, and stop the suppressants because you would no longer go into heat". The doctor was giving his instructions but Tristan’s mind was somewhere else. He hadn’t thought about the possibility of getting pregnant, he had gotten carried away. Well, he couldn’t be blamed since all the experience he ever had was with the Alpha. "Is that why my scent changed?". Tristan spoke up again and the doctor nodded. "You are unstable, and your health isn’t great. It’s not unusual. Gradually it would return to normal, "the doctor explained. After the doctor left, Nita turned to him. "I told the doctor to not tell anyone, because I’m sure the Alpha would make enquiries after Boston reports to him." She said softly. "If you won’t go to him then you would have to go away for a while, it won’t be long before he found out with Boston following you around like that". She continued, weighing the situation and possible solutions. "I don’t have anywhere to go, and I do not want to hide." He replied. "He would force you if he finds out" Nita warned but Tristan firmly refused and she gave up the argument. With the help of Nita he got out of the bed and walked outside the ward. Boston had settled the bills while the doctor was talking to them in the room, and Nita looked at him strangely after he informed them. "Do you need help with walking?" He asked Tristan and he immediately shook his head. Aside from everything the doctor had said, he was warned not to come in contact with other Alphas. Their pheromones could harm the baby. "I can walk myself," he said firmly as Boston insisted on helping him. They walked slowly to a waiting car that Boston had prepared and they were too distracted to see a car parked a short distance away and the Alpha watching from inside with an intrigued expression. The Alpha continued watching as the Omega entered the car and the Alpha that got into the driver’s side to drive the car. "I can see you still care about him". The Alpha chuckled darkly and lit a cigarette. He gestured at his driver to drive after their car left the parking lot.
