Chapter 13: 013 The maid knocked on the door interrupting their conversation. She walked inside with a tray laden with food and a glass of milk. Tristan frowned at the sight of the food. "I’m not hungry" he muttered as the tray was placed between them. "You need to eat anyways, you are just skin and bones" Alpha Mitch said with finality leaving no room for argument. Tristan looked down at his body and immediately pouted in dissatisfaction. "How can he just plainly body shame me?" He thought silently, glaring at him. The maid excused herself as she noticed the looks they were exchanging. It was as if she had interrupted an intimate moment. Aside from the Alpha, she was the happiest person in the whole mansion that the Omega had returned. Even though she was still working on getting closer to the Omega, she pitied and cared for him like her own child. "I already had dinner with Nita" Tristan continued as he realised the Alpha was not backing down. "Have this then" he reasoned, giving him the glass of milk. Tristan took a long gulp from the milk and looked at him for approval but he gestured he finished it. He tipped his head backward as he drank the rest of milk oblivious of the heated gaze that was pointed at him. Alpha Mitch’s gaze followed the trail of a single milk-drop from the corner of his lips down to his neck. His eyes darkened as he thought of licking up the drop of milk. "Done!" Tristan announced dropping the glass and licked his lips. That made Alpha Mitch’s gaze return to his wet lips. He turned away suddenly as he caught himself before he could drown in the thought. How can drinking a simple glass of milk make him react this way? "I have some things to do in my study. I have to leave now" Alpha Mitch announced and hurried off the bed as his self control lowered with every passing second. "Goodnight!" He announced and hurried outside. "Huh?" Tristan exclaimed in confusion as he watched the Alpha leave the room as if something had chased him out. The maid returned after Alpha Mitch left and cleared the untouched food. "The Alpha asked me to give this to you" The maid said, dropping a suppressant for him. Tristan accepted it and immediately took one before settling under the sheets. Before sleep claimed him, his mind trailed off Nita and he made a mental note to remember to ask Alpha Mitch to help him fix his phone. In his study, Alpha Mitch sat behind his table with a half empty bottle of whiskey and his eyes stared blankly ahead. He had thought the alcohol would numb him for the night, at least till he stopped thinking about the Omega but it did little to help and his mind was still as clear as day. "Are you sober enough to talk or should I wait till morning?" Gale asked as he walked inside and noticed the shift in the atmosphere. "I’m not drunk but I can’t entertain you nevertheless. Just fuck off" Alpha Mitch said without a change in his expression. He downed the rest of the drink in his glass and poured himself another one. "Well, I will return in the morning. It’s about the preparation for the mating ceremony. Good night" Gale said before waving at him and walking away. Alpha Mitch spent his night in the same spot till the sky slowly cleared welcoming a new day. The weather was calm and slightly chilly but his body was on fire and in a deep turmoil. He was about to lose in a war against himself. The door busted open suddenly and he looked over at the person with a frown but realizing that it was the maid he assigned to his Omega, he stood up immediately. "Something is wrong, you need to come– He didn’t wait for her to complete the statement before he hurried out of the study. He flung the door open and was expecting to see him on the bed but he wasn’t. He was about to ask the maid when a soft moan got to his ear from the bathroom. In a bathtub filled with icy cold water, Tristan lay submerged with only his head above the water. His lips were purple and rosy blush were on his cheeks. It was as if he contracted a weird illness. He had woken up this morning and let out a yelp at the hotness of his body. The maid had hurried inside at the sound of his voice but she found him tearing at his clothes. His skin was as hot as burning coal and at the same time tender. His ears were buzzing and his mind was not clear enough to think straight. The maid had immediately thought of putting him inside the tub filled with water before she went to call the Alpha. Her hands trembled as she stood behind the Alpha, she had given the Omega the suppressant from Adriana. She hadn’t thought much about it and thought she was preventing anything from happening between the Alpha and the Omega but she had thought wrong. Alpha Mitch paused as he bent to lift Tristan out of the water. His scent had filled the whole room and he could almost taste the sweetness on the tip of his tongue. He turned to glare at the maid angrily. "You did not give him a suppressant last night?" He asked in a voice dripping with venom. "I did," she replied, trembling while shaking her head. "Go and get me another one now!" Alpha Mitch ordered but a groan from Tristan drew his attention back to the Omega. He wanted to lift him out of the tub but he knew what would happen if he should touch. He definitely won’t be able to stop himself. He can’t trust himself to only carry him out. "Ah!" Tristan moaned loudly tugging at his hair as he trashed around in the water. Without another conflicting thought, Alpha Mitch bent to lift him out of the water.
