Chapter 52: 052 Tristan stared at his phone, contemplating on calling Mariah’s number. But he stopped just before he did, she might blame him too. Their lives have been too eventful lately and deciding to leave would make him seem ungrateful. No one would understand him, only someone that knows what it feels like can do so. The Alpha didn’t return or unlock the door for the next few hours. Tristan felt his stomach knot and grumbled painfully as he hadn’t eaten since morning and last had a full meal at Agatha’s place. He paced the room while his mind also remained restless, soon the Alpha’s anger might subside. Then he would need to make him understand, he does not want to part ways on bad terms. His assumptions weren’t correct and by mid afternoon the door was still locked and he was getting weak. He sat down by the door and dialled Mariah’s number. "Hi, where have you been? Mitch wouldn’t tell me?" She asked from the phone, her energetic voice a contrast to his weak voice. "I...I please help me ask him to open the door". Tristan said in between takes of breath. "Door? What door?" Mariah asked in confusion. "Please go to him, I’m in the room". Mariah responded with some incomprehensible words before she ended the call. *** After the previous day riot initiated by the pack members, Alpha Mitch had been in a series of meetings with the pack elders and a few of his most trusted men that did not join the movement. He had been so busy that when a knock sounded on the door of his office he frowned thinking another person was there to disturb him until Mariah walked in angrily. "What do you want? I do not have time to talk to you" Alpha Mitch asked as he dropped his phone after ending an important call. "You see, I’m so tired right now. Why? Why are the two of you always at loggerheads?" "Two of us? Explain or go straight to the point, I do not have time to indulge in this". Alpha Mitch replied with disinterest and a tinge of annoyance. "Okay! Fine! I would explain, he was away for three months and you act like the world was about to end. Now that he is back, why did you lock him up?. Do you want to kill him?Do you enjoy seeing him in pain?" Mariah yelled and Alpha Mitch closed his eyes and rubbed the bridge of his nose with a finger. Without responding to his sister’s words, he got up and headed to the Omega. He had spent the last hours thinking, there was no way he could let him go. He is an Alpha for a reason. His words are laws, how can he let go after everything? Tristan looked up in relief when the lock on the door clicked open. He hurried off the ground and stood facing the Alpha. Alpha Mitch shut the door after he got inside, preventing his sister from coming inside. "Tell me one reason why I should let you go?" He asked, folding his arms and facing the Omega. His expression was unreadable and Tristan wasn’t if he was angry or not. He winced as his stomach made a sound. "Because I’m tired," he replied softly. Alpha Mitch’s jaw clenched and his eyes narrowed at him. "We have never— "When did you begin to have a say in this? You are an Omega, and I chose you. It’s not your choice to decide when you leave" Alpha Mitch cut him off and walked slowly towards him with a smirk on his lips. Tristan’s heart squeezed painfully at his words but he did not take his eyes off him. "If you knew you wanted to leave, why did you bother to return at all?. You even climbed into bed with me just some hours ago, why? A farewell sex?!" He bellowed and Tristan flinched back. He bit his lower lip hard as he continued to look at him with wide eyes, he wasn’t going to let him talk down his decision. Facing the Alpha was an impossible feat and his hands trembled as he got closer. "You want to leave? Then leave now!" He yelled pointing at the door. Tristan frowned and took a step back. He was getting scared and he was not sure what he might do. Seeing that he was too stunned to speak or move, Alpha Mitch grabbed him by the arm suddenly and dragged him along with him. "What?!" Mariah yelled in shock as they passed by her where she stood outside the door. Under the watchful eyes of everyone, the Alpha dragged his Omega by the hand and threw him outside the pack house. Tristan did not have enough time to react and was shocked by the sudden change of event. From locking him in and throwing him out. Alpha Mitch turned back inside the pack house after throwing him out. His anger and disappointment was so great that he did not look back. He went back into his study and sat down heavily but the next seconds punched a hole through the table in front of him. Outside the pack house, Tristan bent his head in shame as people looked at him. He had nothing on him and it was impossible to leave like the Alpha asked. "Tristan!" Mariah yelled while he was deliberating and looked a little bit relieved to see her. "What happened between you two? Tell me, I will tell Mom to deal with him" Mariah asked and waited for him to talk. "No! Please don’t tell her about this, I just need my stuff. I would leave". He replied with a forced smile. "Huh?" Mariah’s mouth opened but no words could come out. She frowned at him and thought about everything but could not make sense of anything. Just like he requested, she went back to the room to bring his packed bag. "Are you really going to leave?" Mariah asked, still in confusion about everything. Tristan nodded with a smile.
