Chapter 4: 004 Alpha Mitch went back to his seat after they’ve all left, he immediately called his beta over. "Yes Alpha" Gale said as he walked into his office. He could already tell he was in a bad mood after he heard him yell at the Elders. "Prepare for the mating ceremony" he ordered passively. "So soon? Won’t you wait a few days. At least get to know her before introducing her to the whole pack" Gale advised. "Do I have time for that?" Alpha Mitch asked as he turned a glare at him. "You are the Alpha, no one has the authority to question you. I mean, if I was rushed to get married I would still need time to know my partner" Gale explained. But Alpha Mitch’s unwavering expression made him cut his speech short. Aside from being his beta, he was his only friend too. No other person understood the Alpha like he does. " I will start the preparation immediately". He agreed and left. Alpha Mitch let out a sigh of frustration after he was left alone. He wasn’t sure if he had done the right thing by leaving his beta to choose a mate for him because the timid and fragile looking Omega was beyond his expectations. He doesn’t really care who his mate was at this point but he does not know what to do or think of the Omega that could not sit properly when they were in a close proximity. "What will I do about her?" He thought out loud. *** Tristan had no idea when he slept off but when he jolted awake, the sky was darkening already and the sun was long gone. His clothes were already a wrinkled mess and the wig had slipped off his head. He had rubbed on his eyes forgetting he still had the makeup on. "Ah" he gasped as his finger became stained with the colour of the eyeshadow and mascara. A knock sounded on the door startling him, a maid walked inside with measured steps. Scared to startle the Alpha’s mate. "I want to help you get ready for dinner". She announced, moving to remove the covers from his body. "No!, I will help myself. You can just tell me where I can find things to use" Tristan rushed to stop her. The maid was surprised but she understood how awkward it must be for him and she gently explained everything in the room before she left. Tristan got up from the bed after he was sure the coast was clear and locked the door before he finally stripped off his whole pretense. He spent over thirty minutes sitting inside the bathtub as he didn’t want to leave for dinner. The water calmed his jittery nerves and tired body. He reluctantly got out with a sigh to get dressed, but there was nothing in the walk in closet that he could wear. From skimpy gowns to ladies night wear and evening dresses. He made a weird face when a piece of lingerie fell on his foot. The impracticability of the dress made it impossible for him to wrap his head around the fact that someone would willingly wear something like that. After rummaging through the entire closet, he settled on a two-piece pajamas. Since it’s big and flowy and unisex, it covered his body and secret, and also gave nothing away. Aside from his flat chest, Tristan has the frame of a female and nothing on his body made him look like a male except if he undressed. Tristan looked at his bare face in the mirror. Gone was the thick layer of makeup and lies, but now his ordinary features stared back at him. Pulling out a drawer on the vanity, an array of makeup accessories stared back at him from inside the drawer. Picking up a lip gloss, he carefully applied it on his lips. With a satisfied nod, he finally ventured outside the room. Peeping outside the door before he finally walked outside the room. A huge fluffy slippers on his feet completed his look. As he made his way to the dining room, with no sense of direction, his sense of smell took him to the dining room and he almost fled back when he met Alpha Mitch sipping a glass of red wine while looking at something on his phone. But he barely noticed him, hence Tristan decided to pause to look at him. His black hair was slightly ruffled and his white shirt had been replaced with a black shirt and loose pants. He sat with his legs crossed under the table and a slight frown made his bushy brows furrowed. Tristan looked away after he caught himself staring. At school, he had known a lot of Alphas and even once dated one. Aside from their hunger for power, they are popular for their extremely good looks, but Tristan despises them. To him, they were jerks and will always remain so. He had been bullied so helplessly by them that he vowed to get his revenge one day. "Your food is getting cold" Alpha Mitch finally broke the silence and Tristan felt his cheeks burned up immediately in embarrassment. "He caught me staring!" He chided himself as he sat down where a tray of food was placed. He bent his head deeply and slowly scoop the food into his mouth. He could not raise his head from the excess embarrassment that he was experiencing. "What is your name?" Alpha Mitch asked suddenly. Tristan coughed loudly as he choked on his food. "Fuck!" Alpha Mitch cussed under his breath and quickly gave Tristan a glass of water. He was confused how he could choke on his food and not to mention the fact that he was avoiding his gaze like plague. "Look at me," he said, ordered suddenly.
