Chapter 72: 072 Tristan had openly refused to leave because he needed to stay close to him for a longer time. He did not even have much expectations when he came there but the kiss had given him more confidence. He has no idea what the Alpha was doing and he might leave the mansion the following morning if he pleases, and that would be bad for him. Alpha Mitch stared at him after his response. Speechless by his boldness. "What is going through his head?" He thought and disappeared into his closet. He emerged again dressed in his pajamas. Tristan followed his movements with his eyes as he still laid sprawled on the bed. "I don’t know what you think you are doing". Alpha Mitch started as he sat down on the loveseat by the window and stared at him. "Just a month ago you insisted on leaving, now you are back again. Do you take me for a fool?" He continued in a soft voice. Tristan sat up immediately, he swallowed nervously and faced him. He knew he was angry and unhappy with him. He would be too if he was the Alpha. "You thought you were not strong enough to stay with me. Did I ever ask you to be strong?". "But you did not only leave, you did it in the worst way ever. Do you despise me?". Alpha Mitch asked, his voice going low to almost a whisper. "I am sorry. I was too tired of being a liability, I have been that all my life. It’s one of the reasons why I ended up here." Tristan said after a little hesitation and looked away from the Alpha’s gaze. He fidgeted nervously on the bed as the room went silent. What if he annoyed him again?. Alpha Mitch was dumbfounded for a moment. His jaw clenched hard and scoffed. "Have I ever said you were a liability? You are my mate and you are supposed to live like one. I would give you whatever you wish to have in the entire world!". Alpha Mitch exclaimed in frustration, he ran a hand through his hair and stood up from the seat. His knuckles cracked as he clenched his fists. "What the hell am I doing?" He thought silently as he looked out of this window. "Only because the pack elders demanded for that?" Tristan’s soft voice asked again, in a clear accusation. He still hadn’t gotten over what he heard that night and he won’t let it go. "I am sorry for what I said that day, but I truly only did this because they demanded it. My thoughts only changed after you arrived!." Alpha Mitch continued to explain which was unlike him, he hated long talks. He was only doing this because he wanted them to clear the misunderstanding between them and that’s only because during the time they spent apart, he realised a lot of things were left unsaid. And they would keep accumulating and that was why he sent him a letter because through Boston. He was still angry then but still wanted to communicate with him. "Why now? You could have said this all these while". Tristan said in frustration. Remembering how much he had hurt to hear him talk like that and his nonchalant attitude afterwards had really broken his heart. Alpha Mitch didn’t say anything and slowly walked towards the bed. "I do take my time before doing anything and when I decided to put some effort in our relationship it’s because I made up my mind. Why did you run off to that little Alpha?". He asked, while staring closely at him. His anger flared again remembering how they had danced together and the way he stared at him. Tristan’s mind blanked and he could not come with a response. He was aware the young Alpha was Trevor and he dare not deny it. And he was not expecting him to suddenly talk about him. Alpha Mitch held a finger under his chin and pulled him closer. "That shouldn’t happen again, and now that you have returned, don’t you dare think of leaving like that again". He warned. His voice was low and rich with authority. Tristan nodded obediently as their faces were just inches apart. His heart beat wildly at the warning behind those words. He thought of telling him about the baby but Alpha Mitch suddenly kissed him again and he forgot everything else. "Go back to your room". Alpha Mitch said suddenly as he broke the kiss. Tristan blinked several times as his whole body had heated up. And he tried to remember what they were talking about. Instead of leaving the bed, he laid down back on the bed and maintained eye contact with him. He was determined not to leave, but he doesn’t want to get him angry by disobeying so quickly after they just tried to clear the air between them. "If you do not leave now, you might not get to leave again for days". Alpha Mitch warned as his eyes narrowed at him. "For days?" Tristan thought in panic and hurried off. His feet wobbled as he stood up fast and he almost fell, Alpha Mitch was beside in an instant and steadied him. He frowned as he looked down at his face. "Are you still feeling sick? Should I call a doctor?" He asked, noticing his pale face and he frowned deeply. "No! I am fine, I just stood up too fast". Tristan replied and moved out of his hands. A doctor would immediately expose everything, he was lucky that he did not look like he wanted to snap his neck again. Who knows what he would think when he finds out. Tristan paused in the hallway as he made his way back to his room, his breath trembled as he saw Adriana just a few steps away. Now, she is the only problem he has and he still can’t defeat her yet no matter how much he tries. Without a single word, Adriana got close and smacked him across the face.
