Chapter 64: 064 Over the next few days Tristan noticed an obvious change in his body. From lack of appetite to drastic change in his scent and weakness. Nita had gotten worried and would follow him everywhere. Even Trevor had pointed it out on a few occasions that they met. He had grown scared and worried but was majorly confused about the cause. And being drowned out by school work he did have enough time to look after himself or seek help. Today instead of standing up to prepare for school he was still sleeping on the bed. "Tristan, we are getting late. You need to stand up now" Nita said as she emerged from the bathroom while drying her hair. She left the room and returned to see him still sleeping. She went over and tapped him on the back but he was still out cold. She shook him a little harder and he wasn’t waking up nevertheless. She turned him over as she began to panic. "He isn’t dead, isn’t it?" She thought wildly. She let out a sigh of relief as she realised he was breathing but just too weak to reply. She climbed off the bed and hurried out of the apartment to get Boston. The past few days he has always been waiting outside for them and would follow to school and everywhere. He would rarely interfere with their routines and only watched from afar. "What happened?" Boston asked as she stopped in front of him out of breath. "He... help- we need help". She managed to say in between gasps for breath. Boston raced past her into the house without asking further questions. Nita struggled to catch and only got to the door when he was emerging from the room with Tristan in his arms. Nita couldn’t comprehend how they made it to the hospital. But was relieved when they started to attend to him and asked them to wait outside. She sat with her head suspended in her hands and Boston stood beside her. Her mind raced with different thoughts and she shook her head as negative thoughts penetrated through. When she thought she was about to lose her mind the room door opened and the doctor emerged looking between them. "Who is his relative among the two of you?" The doctor asked and Nita immediately stood up. "Me!, it’s me!" She said sharply, eager to know what happened. The doctor looked over to Boston but he only stared blankly at him. He had been asked not to interfere with the Omega’s life and to just keep him safe. He did that by bringing him there, but he is not interested in anything else. Seeing that the only Alpha present was not stepping up the doctor had no choice but to take Nita up on her words. He nodded and gestured for her to follow him. For the first Nita kept her lips sealed despite the curiosity that was eating deeply at her. She sat quietly as the doctor read through the chart he held. "You said you are his relative, that means you live together?" The doctor asked unsure on how to start. Aside from passing the information and news to her he also felt the need to vent a little by how the Omega’s had deteriorated to that extent. "Yes we live together". Nita nodded. "So do you know he has been using too much of suppressants and there is a residue of a poison in his system?" The doctor dropped. Nita’s mind blanked quickly as she tried to understand what he was saying. She had only recently just found out he was poisoned, could he be dying?. She thought. "Aren’t suppressants used for heat? We use one every two days to prevent– "Can you listen to yourself? How does a pregnant Omega get heat?" The doctor scolded and Nita’s eyes widened. "A pregnant omega?" She repeated as if it was a foreign language. "A lot of things are wrong and he is in grave danger. The excess suppressants had made the baby unstable and he needs to stay close to his Alpha!" The doctor continued. Nita barely heard everything he said to her as she tried to understand. "Tristan is pregnant". She murmured under her breath. "And also he would have to remain here for a few days, and you better call that Alpha here as soon as possible". The doctor concluded. Nita nodded numbly. She was happy but too shocked to show and most importantly she was worried. If Tristan is forced back to the Alpha he would be unhappy and miserable and she has no idea which is worse than what he is currently going through. "Can you please don’t tell anyone everything you just told me?" Nita said to the doctor as she was gradually taking charge of the situation. She knew even though he doesn’t look interested, Boston would ask the doctor behind her back because he would report to the Alpha. And that would escalate everything. "My patient’s confidentiality is my utmost priority" He replied with a proud nod of his head. "Even when you are threatened?" Nita asked in a hushed tone. That made him pause, he stared strangely at her. "There is a problem, if you tell anyone about his pregnancy he would be in grave danger and could die!. Do you want that?!" Nita lied smoothly, instilling fear in the doctor’s heart. Her words caught the doctor expectedly and he agreed to maintain confidentiality no matter what. Nita left the doctor’s office to check on Tristan, an IV was connected to his hand. Aside from his paler skin, nothing was unusual. "When would you wake up?, I hate the smell of this place and this beeping machine" Nita said softly as she sat on the chair by the bed. Even without saying it, she knew a drastic change had come into their lives. She knew it’s only a matter of time for that to happen but she wasn’t expecting anytime soon.
