Chapter 67: 067 Tristan realised very fast that it would be hard not to get touched by other Alphas as he bumped into other students while trying to get to classes but that wasn’t his biggest problem today. Boston no longer stayed far away from him but close, and even during classes and somehow the professors didn’t comment on it. "Why is he inside?" Nita whispered in disbelief. "I don’t know". Tristan replied and shook his head. He would pretend not to see him and carry on with his day. The class went smoothly without any hitch and Nita was happy they were done for the day. "Let’s have lunch at the cafeteria before going home". Tristan said to her and she gasped. "What if we ran into Trevor? He might touch you". She said, alarmed. "I don’t think so. I’m very hungry". Tristan repeated with a frown and she immediately agreed. They were lucky not to meet Trevor in the cafeteria but they met something worse. "Hey, our favourite is here!" An Alpha seated among a group of Alphas yelled suddenly and all heads whipped in their direction. Nita subconsciously stood in front of Tristan. "I think we should leave". She suggested but the smell of food that penetrated his nostrils made Tristan reject her suggestions. "Let’s just ignore them". He replied to her and walked away to get food. "I’m talking to YOU dumb fucks!" The Alpha yelled again, pissed that they pretended not to hear him. "Let’s go". Tristan continued towards the food as his stomach grumbled at the sight of food. They had left the house in a hurry today and didn’t have enough time to eat, hence he was starving badly. Nita’s mind wasn’t at rest and she kept looking back as Tristan got their food. She wouldn’t have cared much about his blabbers if things hadn’t changed but they were supposed to be careful now. They made it to their seats and immediately started eating. Just a few minutes in, Tristan froze as a bottle of ice water was dumped on his head. Nita screamed and hit the rest of the water from the hand of the Omega standing behind Tristan. They were too engulfed in their food and hadn’t seen him walk up to them. "I’m so sorry, he made me do it". The Omega apologized in a breaking voice and pointed across the room. Without looking Nita knew who was responsible. Tristan pushed the food aside as water had ruined it while also drenching him. His hair and cloth was soaked and he pulled Nita down to her seat. "I’m...cold". He managed to force out of his trembling mouth as his teeth chattered. "Oh no". Nita cried out and stood out of her seat angrily. "Don’t you have something positive to do with your time?! Must you be so heartless and immature?!" She yelled angrily, successfully getting everyone’s attention and the whole cafeteria went dead silent. "Do you want to fucking die?!" One of the Alpha yelled and threw an apple at her. But it was caught in mid air. Boston stepped into the chaos and caught the flying apple. He looked at the young Alphas, the oldest among them would be twenty-two or twenty-three years. They panicked and stopped at his appearance as they had no idea who he was or why he was there. He dropped the apple on a table without a word to them and noticed the state of the Omega. "Let’s go,". He said to Nita and Tristan and removed his jacket to cover him with it. "Thank you". Tristan said through shaking lips and that made Boston frown slightly. "Those fuckers!" he cussed subconsciously and louder than he intended. Tristan’s eyes widened and Nita chuckled. *** After returning home, Tristan immediately soaked himself in a hot bath. He managed to get the cold out of his body and Nita helped him dry his hair on the couch. They settled down to watch a movie afterwards and Tristan drifted off in sleep. When the day darkened, the cold returned and was intense this time. Nita realised he was jittery beside her but on touching him, she noticed his temperature had risen and he was very hot. "Tristan" she called softly and tried to wake him up. She panicked fast and immediately called Boston for help. They ended up back in the hospital for the second time within three days. This time, the doctor didn’t mince words and merely said everything he wanted to. "I asked and instructed that he should be close to his Alpha. I do not know what your intentions are, are you waiting for him to totally weaken?" The old doctor spat. Nita looked down and hoped he wouldn’t say more than that because of Boston standing close by. "He will do so soon". She replied and winced as the doctor scoffed. "Even a normal gestation still needs the presence of an Alpha, if they conceived it together why carry stay alone afterwards?" The doctor asked without any care that Boston was listening. Nita gestured for him to stop but he didn’t look at her, she slowly turned to look at Boston and realised he was looking at her with a deep frown. She groaned inwardly as she knew their secret had been exposed. After attending to him, the doctor asked Boston and Nita to leave the room to allow him rest. Nita turned to the Alpha once they were alone. "Did you hear that?" Nita asked awkwardly. But Boston only stared at her wordlessly, she looked away from him as it was getting too awkward. "What do you want me to hear?" Boston asked. He of course had heard it, the Omega is pregnant. He was surprised but there was nothing he could do about it. It’s the Alpha’s problem, not his. "The...umm...what the doctor said. Please don’t tell anyone". Nita suddenly grasped onto his sleeve. "Huh?" Boston frowned and moved back. "Yes, the Alpha he doesn’t know. But he shouldn’t find out from someone else except through him" she said gesturing at the ward door. "So please, promise not to tell him or anyone". Nita continued to plead. Boston nodded and promised after her persuasions.
