When Lin Li eats alone, she also likes to watch some mealtime videos, but she’s not as dedicated as Ding Sihan.
Moreover, for Lin Li, mealtime videos are like turning on the TV on New Year’s Eve — purely there to create an atmosphere, to make it less quiet, and she doesn’t necessarily pay much attention to them.
Honestly, if you eat fast, it’s less than ten minutes, and you might start focusing on the food itself. Like Ding Sihan, who might spend more time looking for a video than actually watching it.
"Class president, can I go play some rides first? See you later." Lin Li said, seeing that Ding Sihan hadn’t started eating yet.
"Okay."
"Get me a cup of water from the dispenser, please. Thanks." Ding Sihan pointed to the distant water dispenser, with a bossy attitude.
"Okay." Lin Li sighed.
Might as well spoil your daughter.
Speaking of which, shouldn’t the water dispenser be called a water spitter? Humans are the real water drinkers.
After getting the water, Lin Li left.
Yep, left.
Watching Lin Li leave the cafeteria directly after filling the cup, Ding Sihan: "?"
The phone chimed with a message.
「Ding Sihan: Where are you?」
「Lin Li: Left.」
「Ding Sihan: Where’s the water?」
「Lin Li: 「Picture」 It’s in my hand.」
「Ding Sihan: ?」
「Lin Li: Oh, right, Ding Sihan, you never told me what to do after I got the water. So what am I supposed to do now?」
「Ding Sihan: Lin Li, I hate you!!!」
Being misunderstood by family is a father’s fate.
With the map in hand, Lin Li headed to the Hammer of the Gods ride.
It’s basically a giant swing, with an arm holding a circular seating area that rotates while the arm accelerates until it swings 360 degrees.
From below, it doesn’t seem fast, not very scary, but once you’re on it, it’s a different story — no one stays silent.
It’s a paragon of dizziness, weightlessness, and excitement, and one of the most famous attractions at Pingjiang Amusement Park.
Primarily, the ride lasts a long time, almost three minutes, a long-term torture.
But for Lin Li, it’s not a big deal, given the previous experiences with the rotating chairs and big spinning wheels — Lin Li is quite confident about these dizzying rides.
Lin Li now believes her stamina is comparable to that of a pilot.
After all those flights she took in the past three years, her perseverance is paying off.
There’s no singles line for continuous circle seats. Lin Li wanted to go through the fast track right away, but unexpectedly saw an old acquaintance in the regular line — his good buddy — so he had to go say hi.
It was lunchtime, so there weren’t many people, and the regular line wasn’t long. Lin Li went over.
"Wang Yuezhi, why are you playing this ride alone?" Lin Li inquired.
— It’s noon now, and of course, Wang Yuezhi is his good buddy.
"Not in a good mood, looking for something unpleasant to make myself feel better."
Hearing the question, Wang Yuezhi instinctively responded in a gloomy voice, looking up at the swinging hammer, listening to the screams of people on it.
Later, I’ll see if I can go without fastening the seatbelt, maybe getting thrown off will leave me bruised all over.
Maybe then I can forget today’s inner hurt.
"Oh, sorry to bother you then, I better go. I’m in a good mood, can’t let you bring me down." Lin Li nodded and prepared to leave before hearing more negativity.
— Not to target Wang Yuezhi, Lin Li treats all his buddies this way.
Wang Yuezhi: "..."
He then realized the voice was indeed familiar, turned his head, and sure enough, it was Lin Li — only he could say something like that.
Wang Yuezhi glanced fixedly at Lin Li’s surroundings, suddenly brightened up, and even grabbed Lin Li’s arm as he was about to leave, asking in surprise, "Lin Li, are you here alone?"
Didn’t you come with four people just now?
Not joining up?
"Our relationship might be moving a bit fast, I might need to think about it." Lin Li pried Wang Yuezhi’s hand off his arm, "But I can see you’re lonely, alright, I won’t go, I can accompany you on this ride."
For a buddy, he’s willing to sacrifice a bit of himself.
Sure enough, his suggestion was salvation for Wang Yuezhi, visibly improving his mood.
"I actually have a show, no, I have something to do. I have to go now, Lin Li, enjoy the ride, good luck." Leaving this message, Wang Yuezhi walked away.
Leaving behind a slightly bewildered Lin Li.
A show? What show? Haven’t heard of a circus performance tonight?
Slightly puzzled, Lin Li shrugged his shoulders and continued to queue.
"Lin Li?"
Within a few seconds, his name was called.
Lin Li turned and saw it wasn’t a classmate, but the homeroom teacher from class 17, whom he had met only once — probably named Wang Ziyan.
"Hello, Teacher Yan, how did you know my name?" Lin Li asked.
"The name is Wang Ziyan," Wang Ziyan smiled.
"Then I’ll call myself Princess Lin?"
Since it wasn’t his own teacher and seemed friendly, and now was off-campus, Lin Li pretended not to understand.
"You are indeed as Teacher Xue said, quite the talent," Wang Ziyan, who was about Lin Li’s height, patted his shoulder with a helpless expression.
Apparently, Xue Jian had been bragging about him to other teachers as a proud example of an outstanding student.
It made him feel slightly embarrassed.
"I’m not that outstanding, but I will keep working hard, Teacher Yan," Lin Li said politely.
"So Lin Li, after you finish enjoying the amusement park, would you help Teacher Yan with a favor?" Wang Ziyan asked.
