After pulling Clara Bennett into his embrace, William Foster coldly said to Samuel Grant, "Go find Zam to get the check. The interest will be according to what we agreed on before." Thinking about that ridiculously high interest, Samuel Grant couldn’t help but try pleading again, "Uncle, since I helped you and Aunt Clara get together, can’t you waive the thirteen percent interest?" While speaking, Samuel Grant sneaked a glance at Clara, hoping she would ask what thirteen percent interest meant. That way, she would know how black-hearted William Foster is. Heh, on the surface acting generous, but actually charging such high interest from his own nephew. How sincere could he be to her in the future? Samuel Grant hoped more for canceling the interest out of consideration for Clara’s face. Upon hearing this, Clara Bennett was momentarily stunned, just as Samuel Grant had hoped, and immediately covered her mouth, looking at William Foster in surprise, "You really remember what I said that day. No, he couldn’t be tempted by her; he quickly needed to go get the check and resolve those troublesome matters. In the study, after Samuel Grant left, Clara deftly slipped out of William’s embrace. William immediately felt a sense of weightlessness. Clara put her hands on her hips, questioning, "Alright William Foster, are you plotting against me? Speak up, what’s your purpose?" William answered aggrievedly, "I simply don’t want you to rekindle your relationship with Samuel Grant." Clara frowned, "Who said I want to get back with Samuel Grant? Haven’t I already agreed to marry you? What are you still worried about?" William nodded, "Yes, but I still have some worries. After all, it took so much effort to marry a wife, of course, I have to cherish you doubly and not give any opportunity to an ex-boyfriend." Clara raised an eyebrow, "So you deliberately made him witness our intimacy and wanted me to see his miserable state?" William replied, "Yes, but that’s not the only reason." Clara pressed, "Not the only reason?" William laughed, "Last time you complained I didn’t record a video of him pretending to be a dog, so this time I invited my little wife to witness it firsthand." Clara was stunned. William always had a kind of innocent yet cruel charm. If she still loved Samuel now, seeing his embarrassment firsthand would be so painful. Luckily now she only felt a great sense of satisfaction. "Of course, I’m happy. Otherwise, why would I accompany you in this play?" Clara moved closer to William, smiling sweetly, "Thank you for the show." She thought William couldn’t see, so she didn’t mind having her collar wide open. But William’s gaze just happened to fall on her neckline. "As long as you’re happy, I’m relieved." William’s throat rolled as he jokingly said, "Little wife, your acting is really good, have you considered entering the entertainment industry? I’m willing to invest and support you." He’s the one who should be thankful. Yes, thank you for the hospitality, it was truly a feast for the eyes. Clara turned around to pour a glass of water, then walked over to William, "You showed me a dog performance, I was really entertained. However, you stained my dress, and I’m particularly unhappy about it. To be fair, I must also stain your clothes." William watched helplessly as Clara spilled water onto his pants. That call made her whole body go soft. She often heard others say some men naturally have charisma, just by speaking lightly can electrify others, making the listener’s bones go soft. She never believed it before, but now she felt William was a living example. Clara seemed bewitched, walking over. When she got beside William, he reached out to hold her hand tightly. His palm was warm, making Clara’s heart tremble, she wanted to pull away, "What are you doing?" William didn’t say a word, just guided her hand through several movements. Clara quickly withdrew her hand, hiding it behind her back, glaring at William. William looked innocently and said, "It’s you who kept flirting with me, I had no choice." Clara argued, "Who flirted with you? Did I do anything?" William laughed and replied, "You kissed me, and whispered in my ear, that breath made my ear itch." Clara was speechless, annoyedly retorting, "Clearly, you kissed me first, I was just counterattacking. Besides, I feel it’s not your ears itching but your heart." William chuckled softly, admitting, "Yes, my heart is indeed itching, you need to take responsibility, dear wife."
