Chapter 98: Chapter 98- Hung Up on Me? Yuki frowned. "Are you really planning to work for Morrison for the rest of your life?" Norton hesitated for a second, but chose honesty. He nodded. "Yeah. That’s the plan." He had never thought about quitting. Never even considered changing paths. Maybe he was the type who clung to the familiar, rigid and stubborn. But at least he was loyal. Yuki elegantly dabbed her lips with a napkin, then looked at him with a seductive smile. "So, between me and Morrison... you’re choosing Morrison?" This time, Norton frowned. "There’s no comparison between the two of you. It’s not a matter of choosing." Yuki snorted lightly. "But I asked you to quit and work for me, and you turned me down. I need someone like you too, you know. Doesn’t that mean... you’ve already abandoned me?" That got under his skin. What the hell was this logic? Morrison was like a brother. Yuki was... love. How could those two kinds of bonds even be compared? Before he could explain, Yuki’s face turned cold. She stood and said flatly, "You can leave. I’ll give you time to think—whether you want to come work for me or stay with Morrison." "And if your answer is to stay at MOS Corp..." her eyes narrowed, "Then whatever we had, it ends here." The way she flipped the switch from warm to ruthless pissed him off more than he expected. "Well, since you’ve made it that clear," Norton growled, standing up and grabbing his things, "then I’ve got nothing to think about. I’m staying with MOS. Find someone else." With that, he stormed out. Yuki’s voice floated after him, sweet and mocking. "Once you walk out that door, don’t come crawling back!" Norton didn’t even glance over his shoulder. But the moment he stepped out, the more he thought about it, the angrier he became. Yuki was being completely unreasonable. And yet... that wasn’t like her. She wasn’t usually this kind of woman. If she were, he wouldn’t have fallen for her in the first place. The frustration in his chest wouldn’t go away. On impulse, he turned back and marched straight to her door. He knocked, loud and firm. The door opened. Yuki stood there with a bright, knowing smile. "Wow, that was fast. Couldn’t bear to be apart from me already?" Norton ripped off his tie with a flick of his wrist, his voice laced with a cold sneer. "Of course I can’t bear to leave you. Since we’re breaking up anyway, might as well get something out of it." With that, he surged forward, trapping her in his arms and crushing his lips against hers in a rough, dominating kiss. Yuki struggled at first—but he swiftly used the very tie he had just torn off to bind her wrists. With her resistance cut off, he took his time, wild and unapologetic, claiming her completely. And that was how he ended up late for work. He left without looking back, never noticing the slow, satisfied smile blooming on Yuki’s face as she lay on the disheveled bed. Yuki was never the type of foolish woman who needed a man to choose between her and someone else. The question she’d asked earlier had merely been a test—a carefully crafted provocation. If a man could so easily walk away from a company he’d worked at for years—especially one where Morrison had given him his first real opportunity—then that man was too fickle to trust with her heart. Because if temptation came once... it could come again. And if he could betray Morrison, he could just as easily betray her. But luckily, Norton had passed her test—with flying colors. The way he’d stormed back, tied her up, and devoured her on the bed? So. Damn. Hot. She bit her lower lip, cheeks tinged pink. What should she do now? At first, she hadn’t even liked him that much—everyone knew her eyes had been on Morrison. But the more time she spent with Norton... the more dangerously drawn she became. He was addictive, and she wasn’t sure she could stop now, even if she wanted to. — Meanwhile, Norton wasn’t exactly focused. His mind kept wandering back to what had just happened. And that’s when he noticed something odd. There, on Morrison’s desk, was a sleek phone. A woman’s phone. His eyes narrowed—and then he recognized it. Lilian’s. His mind made the connection instantly. If her phone was here, in Morrison’s office, this early in the morning... there was only one explanation. They must’ve spent the night together. He blinked. Damn, the boss moves fast. As for the phone, Morrison hadn’t planned to give it back so soon. He was waiting—for her to come get it herself. In today’s world, people could barely function without their phones. He figured it was just a matter of time. But the entire morning passed, and she didn’t even call. No texts. No emails. Nothing. Morrison was getting impatient. Finally, he called her office landline himself. Lilian picked up, clearly in the middle of work. When she heard his voice, her tone was cold and clipped. "What is it?" Just those three detached words. Morrison clenched his jaw. "Not coming for your phone?" She replied without hesitation, "Nope. You can keep it. Honestly, life’s been a lot more peaceful without it." Lilian didn’t care about her phone at all. "Alright then, I’ll get back to work." With that, she hung up. Just like that. No hesitation. Morrison stared at the receiver in disbelief. She really hung up on him. She didn’t even care. Tch. This woman... He was used to being obeyed, used to people bending over backwards to please him. But Lilian? She wasn’t playing by his rules. And it pissed him off. She wasn’t going to give him the satisfaction of chasing her—not when he’d been so arrogant, so unreasonable. Well, fine. Two could play that game. Morrison tossed the phone onto his desk, jaw tight. "She really hung up on me," he muttered. His fingers tapped impatiently on the armrest. Was she seriously not going to come crawling back? He should’ve been angry. But instead... He found himself smirking. Interesting. Very interesting.
