Chapter 47: Chapter 47- obey After burying herself in work for a while, Lilian suddenly heard a knock on the office door. She didn’t pay much attention, assuming it was someone from another department coming to handle business with finance. Her desk was at the edge of the finance department, and she had her back to the door—so she couldn’t see who had come in. She only caught the sharp intake of breath from a few colleagues behind her, then the hurried sound of chairs being pushed back, and finally someone exclaimed, "Boss is here!" Immediately, the entire finance team turned in surprise to face the man who had just entered with a serious expression. Some employees even respectfully stood to welcome him. The man seemed to carry a natural aura of authority, and wherever he went, admiration followed like a shadow. Lilian had only learned from her colleagues at MOS Corp. that although Morrison gave off a carefree, rebellious vibe in daily life, he was a mastermind when it came to running MOS Corp. Decisive and sharp-minded, any project he favored inevitably turned a huge profit. Under his leadership, MOS Corp. had never suffered a loss, with its performance climbing year after year. Naturally, the staff revered and respected him—even though he was younger than many of the senior employees. Lilian was one of those shocked by his presence—no, more accurately, she was the most terrified. She jumped up from her seat, heart pounding, and turned to look fearfully at the man who had just walked into the finance department. Her mind immediately flashed back to the call she had abruptly ended earlier and the threat she imagined him making—coming personally to "catch" her. Her heart clenched painfully. If he exposed their relationship in front of everyone, she’d never be able to survive at MOS Corp. The female employees, all of whom adored Morrison, would swarm her like a tidal wave of spit and whispers. Since she’d been hiding her true identity at MOS Corp., she’d noticed just how many female coworkers were Morrison’s fans—some even fangirling over Norton or Sean, but nowhere near his level. Then again, she reminded herself, they weren’t involved anymore. What was there to fear if he exposed them? If he really tried to catch her, she’d simply claim to be the sister of his friend Dave. That thought gave her a surge of confidence, and her panicked expression softened as she composed herself and looked at Morrison with a more indifferent gaze. Morrison, walking in while glancing sideways at her, was furious—burning with the urge to drag her out and reveal to everyone that she was once his ex-girlfriend, to make her suffer the very thing she feared most. Seeing the dangerous glint in his eyes, Lilian immediately dropped her gaze and slunk back into her chair, pretending to focus on her work. Deep down, she was still scared of him exposing everything. The big boss’s sudden visit sent the finance manager rushing out to greet him, thinking he was up to something major. But he just made a quick round and left with a few words: "Finance is a crucial department for MOS Corp.—it holds the lifeline of the entire company. I hope everyone works seriously. I’ll be stopping by more often." When Morrison said those words, his gaze was fixed on a young employee who was almost burying their head in the desk, but his words still had a certain intimidating effect on the rest of the staff. "Dropping by more often, huh? Heh, who knows when he’ll get the sudden urge to come by again?" From now on, no one in the finance department would dare slack off. Finally, after Morrison’s inspection, Lilian quickly grabbed her cup and took a big gulp of water. "Goodness, that sudden visit almost scared me to death." Her colleagues murmured in agreement, saying the big boss was really cunning, launching such a surprise attack that it scared them half to death. Lilian hastily chimed in, "I feel exactly the same—almost died of fright." Just as she was calming down and preparing to get back to work, her phone buzzed again with a message from Morrison: "Meet me in the parking lot tonight, or I’ll really tell everyone about us." For Morrison, the whole inspection in the finance department was purely a scare tactic aimed at Lilian. He was unhappy she refused his offer to accompany her home tonight, so he decided to intimidate her this way, hoping she’d give up and stop resisting him. Seeing that tone, Lilian immediately figured out he was just trying to frighten her. So, she replied angrily: "What relationship do we even have? When I joined MOS Corp., I said I was your friend’s sister. Even if you make it public, I’ll stick to that story—hmph!" From the other side, he sent a casual reply: "You want me to tell everyone you have a mole on your right chest?" Lilian was speechless—and her face instantly flushed. He—he—he was shameless! He actually mentioned something so private. Yes, she did have a small mole on her right chest. When they were together, he had kissed her several times and almost "crossed the line" — pushing up her clothes and kissing her body, which was how he came to know about that mole. If he were to reveal such intimate details in front of everyone, who would believe she was just Dave’s sister? Seeing such a private spot, how could anyone believe they were merely friends? Lilian suddenly panicked and froze on the spot. She never expected Morrison to threaten her with something so personal, and yet, she was completely caught off guard—utterly defenseless. Seeing her silence, Morrison immediately switched to a commanding tone: "Meet me in the parking lot after work tonight." Domineering and unreasonable, arrogant and overbearing. Before Lilian could even reply, he hung up on her, leaving her furious on the other end, feeling like her lungs were about to burst. But what choice did she have but to obey? After all, who told him to be so cunning and sneaky, threatening her with the mole on her chest? So, after work, she obediently went to the parking lot. It’s the old saying—one foot higher for the Tao, ten feet higher for the devil. She was simply no match for Morrison. As Morrison drove away, Lilian hurriedly said, "Just drop me off at my mom’s place. She’s been sick these past few days, and I’m going to take care of her." Morrison chuckled in spite of himself. Who said she wasn’t clever? She was sharp as a tack. Look at how she kept battling him with her wits—maybe she had no other talents, but when it came to annoying him, she was first-rate.
