Chapter 23: Chapter 23- So flashy What Lilian didn’t know was—Morrison had deliberately given her no chance to refuse. He was afraid that if he gave her even a second to think, she’d say no. So, he made the decision for her. The group soon arrived at the KTV venue, piling out of the taxis and heading straight for the large private room they had booked in advance. They had barely sat down when a line of waitstaff filed in, carrying massive trays filled with fresh fruit platters, snacks, drinks, and even bottles of wine. Their class monitor blinked in confusion and quickly stopped one of the servers. "Hey, we just got here. We haven’t even ordered yet. Are you sure all this stuff is for us? Maybe you’ve got the wrong room?" He gestured toward the long table, now completely covered in food and drinks. With such a large group, they had booked one of the biggest rooms. Even in a place like this, all that food and alcohol wasn’t cheap. The server glanced at him, then asked calmly, "Lilian... she’s one of you, right?" The moment he said that, everyone’s heads turned toward Lilian. The monitor nodded, still confused. "Yeah, she’s in our class." The server gave a subtle glance toward the girl in question—the one with a simple outfit, a beautiful face, and that quiet, graceful aura that made her stand out without even trying. "Then it’s all correct. Your classmate Lilian’s boyfriend arranged all of this. He’s covering the cost of everything in this room tonight. You’re free to eat, drink, and sing as much as you like." With that, the server turned and left, leaving a stunned silence in his wake. Then, as if a switch flipped, the entire room exploded. "Lilian’s boyfriend?!" One of the girls closest to her practically lunged across the sofa to grab Lilian in a bear hug, eyes sparkling with gossip. "Lilian! When did you get a boyfriend?! And why didn’t you tell us?!" "Whoa, your boyfriend’s seriously generous! He booked the whole place for our class!" "Come on, come on, call him over! We wanna meet the legend himself!" It wasn’t just her classmates who were shocked—even Lilian herself was completely thrown off. She had never planned to make her relationship with Morrison public—especially not in front of the entire class. And she certainly didn’t expect him to go all-out and treat everyone like this! The moment the server uttered the words "Lilian’s boyfriend", her cheeks flushed crimson. Now surrounded by a group of excited friends urging her to spill everything, she felt like her head might explode. Flustered and cornered, she quickly pushed them aside, stammered a vague excuse toward the rest of the class—who were now all staring at her with wide eyes—and said, "You guys go ahead and sing for now... It was Angela—her tone full of scorn as she sneered at Lilian and Morrison both. But one of the guys didn’t even bother hiding his disdain as he snapped back, "Look at Lilian’s background. Do you really think she’d go out with someone average?" Angela gritted her teeth and stormed off to sulk in the corner. Meanwhile, Lilian had just stepped out of the private room when a staff member approached her with a polite smile. "Excuse me, are you Miss Lilian Washington?" Lilian blinked and nodded. The server bowed slightly and said with utmost respect, "Mr. Morrison is already waiting for you. Please follow me." Lilian followed the staff member to a separate private room. As the door opened, she saw Morrison sitting there alone. Because of his earlier dinner with Monna, Morrison was dressed unusually formal tonight—jet-black suit, crisp white shirt, and a sleek black tie. He looked impeccable, like he had stepped right out of a fashion magazine. Add that dangerously handsome face into the mix, and Lilian couldn’t help but think—No wonder so many women fall head over heels for him. She stood frozen at the doorway, unsure of what to say. The staff member quietly closed the door behind her, leaving just the two of them inside. The faint noise from the other rooms leaked through the walls, mixing with the dim, intoxicating lights—creating an atmosphere that felt almost... decadent. Morrison glanced at her, then stood up casually and began loosening his tie. First came the tie, then the jacket. When his fingers reached for the buttons on his shirt collar, Lilian instinctively took a step back, alarmed. "W-What are you doing?!" He didn’t stop unbuttoning, just smiled lazily and said, "This outfit’s way too tight. I’m just relaxing a little." Lilian was speechless. She didn’t bolt for the door, but she definitely wasn’t getting any closer. She stayed rooted to the spot, watching helplessly as he undid three buttons on his shirt, rolled up his sleeves, and revealed two strong forearms and a hint of bronzed, sculpted chest. She watched the entire process, and for some reason, her throat suddenly felt... dry. She really wanted a glass of water. Seriously? He’s saying it’s just about relaxing? That was 100% a visual attack. Male seduction, plain and simple! Morrison, of course, noticed her reaction—how her big eyes turned hazy and uncertain, how she swallowed slightly. He knew that look. She was clearly affected. Exactly what he wanted. Yes, he had done it all on purpose. Distract her first—confuse her with a little charm—then move in for the real talk. Once he was comfortable, lounging on the sofa with an air of smug ease, he waved at her, "Relax. Come here. I’m not gonna eat you." Seeing that he wasn’t pulling anything else, Lilian finally lowered her guard and walked over to sit beside him on the sofa. But the moment she sat down, the scene from earlier—her classmates being stunned by his extravagant treat—flashed through her mind. She turned to him, her brows furrowed in protest. "Why did you go and do something that high-profile? Treating the entire class to a night out?" So flashy... That’s totally not my style! she thought. What she didn’t know, however, was that being high-profile was exactly Morrison’s style. The only reason he had kept this "relationship" low-key so far... was because he was being considerate of her family.
