Chapter 32 – Towards the second research.

After doing the necessary preparation and restocking my potions and replacing my weapons, I headed towards the forest in order hunt down the weed dragons.(You know, I've been in this forest many times already, but I still can't get enough of this place.) (It is dangerous and all, but it's quite beautiful as well.) "Well, there are those fuckers so it makes things annoying." – said Phantasia while holding some monster with his hand. [Dugu – Level 84] Phantasia snapped the monster neck, killing it and dropping its corpse on the ground. (These bastards aren't as hard as before, but still they are extremely annoying and deadly if they ran at you in packs.) (They even almost killed me when I had higher level than them.) (They are extremely problematic bastards.) (Anyway, the location pointed out by the quest should be somewhere here.) (Let's look around.) Phantasia began looking around for any of the tracks left behind by the weed dragons while also dealing with dugus who came at him. After some time passed, Phantasia found a tree covered on the one side with bite marks. (Found it!) (Okay. Now I need to look for those weed dragons.) "?" (Oh. Found some already.) – though Phantasia after looking behind the tree and seeing his target. The monster that Phantasia spotted was indeed his target, the weed dragon. The weed dragon was large and long monsters, similar to a big dog. The monster torso looked like giant pile of leaves clustered together and from it, 4 legs were sticking out from it that looked like some sort of giant leaves, but were extremely thick and even each one posed deadly set of thorn claws sticking out. The monster didn't possess any wings, but instead a long thick leave sticking out from its back that resembles wings, but were in reality not real wings. The monster head looked most interesting with its appearance. The monster upper and lower part looked like there were just 2 giant leaves, but its fangs looked like thorns. "…" (It honestly look like a lizard than a dragon, but okay.) (Anyway, it doesn't seem to have noticed me.) (…) (Let's start off with the crossbow.) [Dugu Hunter Crossbow] [Rarity: Uncommon] [A powerful crossbow that possess a high fire power, but requires bit of time to prepare in order to use it again.] [Attack Power: 120-155] [Restriction: Level 85] [Dugu Hunter Bolt] [Rarity: Uncommon] [Attack Power: 20-60] (This crossbow has extremely high attack together with the bolt, but it turn it takes a bit of time to reload.) (But fuck it.) – though Phantasia while aiming with his crossbow from the hidden spot. (It makes it bit problematic in the longer lasting combat, but for hunting some annoying monsters its perfect!) Phantasia aimed with his crossbow and aimed at the monster head. After aiming perfectly, he pulled the trigger and the claw bolt flew at the dragon monster. The monster heard the crossbow firing and before it could even turn its head around, the belt hit and pierced it right in the head, killing it instantly. "…." "Huh…. I honestly though it would survive that, since its plant and all, but nope?" Phantasia looked around and after making sure there was no monsters nearby, he approached the monster corpse and retried his bolt. (Well, she said that even average joe can take them down without much problem, so critical hit like that is quite obvious an instant death. Not only that, the crossbow unlike the other weapons who depends on stats like strength or agility, it instead has just straight up high attack. I also sacrificed the reload speed for the damage, turning it into quiet deadly weapon.) (Anyway…. Yes, they are here.) [Weed Dragon Limbs] [Weed Dragon Heart] (I didn't got the tail, but it's still something.) (According to the information from the merchant and the alchemist in the city, the weed dragon materials are extremely valuable for many different things.) (Especially mana related stuff since those materials contain good amount of mana.) (With this and my equipment, I will be able to produce rare rarity potions in theory!) (There are also the evolved version and the boss one!) (SOON!) (As soon as I gather enough materials, I can start working and then the second research can start!) "…" "And by the look of things they came on their own." Phantasia looked on his right and saw 3 weed dragons coming his way. After noticing the monster, the undead brough out his monsters onto the battlefield. "Time to hunt you bastards!" The three weed dragons began running towards Phantasia while his own monster ran at them to confront them. (It will take time to reload, but I would like to finish this fast.) – though Phantasia while putting away his crossbow and reading his claws for the fight. Phantasia put his hand in front of him and began firing the bone projectiles at one of weed dragons, hitting it over and over. The monster tried dodging, but as soon it would do that, the undead would fire a stronger attack, catching the monster off guard. As for Phantasia other monsters, the bear was holding back the weed dragon without much problem and the 3 evil thug rabbits well…. They were just straight up bullying it like some sort of thungs while also robbing it? …. What the fuck is wrong with those rabbits? …. Anyway, the weed monster continues fighting off against Phantasia, but before long the weed dragon who was getting fired at non stop ended up being thorn to shreds before moments later Phantasia rushed at the second weed dragon who was facing off against the bear and quickly ripped of its limbs with its claws before having the bear smash it. The last one standing was the one…. Em…. The last weed dragon was getting bullied to death by the rabbit…. Phantasia just joined and killed it alongside its bear and rabbits, pretty much killing it instantly after two of them joined. "…" "Huh…. They are way easier than dugus?" (They don't cooperate with each other and they are even more stupid than them…. Wow…. I mean, they had higher level than us, but that was straight up one sided.) "…." "The fuck." (I mean, I'm grateful and all, but I was honestly thinking that my luck would not bite me in the ass and turn my situation shitty in just few seconds.) (But nope? The fuck is going on?) (…) (No. Fuck you! I'm keeping my guard up! I know something fucked up will happened to me soon.) [Few moments later.] "…." "You got to be fuking kidding me." (I mean, I did had to play like a coward a bit, but still I won without any mayor problems? Their skills were indeed annoying, but that it?) (…. Huh….) (By the way, how does evolution works for the weed dragons? Some of them had same level as weed dragons, the evolved forms.) (Do they need to meet specific conditions instead of leveling up?) (…) (Well, I'm not complaining about that either, since the materials I got from them are much better compare to the regular version.) "Hey, you all fine?" – asked Phantasia to his tamed monsters. The tamed monsters gave sight that they are okay. "…" (Huh. They also got much stronger compare to the before.) (Before even a little fight would exhausted, since we were weaklings, but now?) (The leveling up speed got way faster compare to before and many of my combat related skills leveled up a lot, giving me a solid power up.) (Not only that, but the new weapons are also making things much easier.) (The crossbow is one shot only in combat, but it has devastating power.) (And as for the gloves, they are light and sharp, allowing me to give nasty wounds and poison the enemy easily if I cover my claws with poison.) (….) (Should I aim for the boss monster?) (I have money, so the thing I should be aiming for should be materials.) (But the boss monster will be probably much higher level…. Meh. Let's not rush it now.) (Lets just focus on hunting the weed dragons and its evolved variants first while leveling up. Getting greedy like an idiot because I realize I can beat them doesn't mean I should rush it.) (I experience last time cold and hard reality once I tried rushing things, like with the plague, I rushed it because I was over confined and ended up fucking everything up.) (Focus on gathering the materials. Reach the level 10 with alchemy skill and then max out the alchemist class.) (I didn't used any of my class points and I have them stocked up.) (Don't rush and be a greedy idiot like before.) (Take your time.) I decided to ignore the boss monster. I know that hunting it down will be very rewarding in many different ways, but its not my goal right now. Materials. The materials from the weed dragons will be the thing that will help me to improve my research. However, there is one thing I should mention. The players that went to the capital city may start appearing soon, a lot of time passed and all, so this time some people will come here and won't die and will be able to stay…. So, yea, I'm again running out of the peace. Okay, I think I can rush it a bit with the material collecting. So, yea, I hunted those monsters left and right for a long time while also leveling up a lot. After long time, I ended up stocking up on a lot of the weed dragon materials. I sold some of them to the guild for some cash, but I kept most of it for my experiment. Before long, I had both money and materials. I went to the public workshop and brough my own equipment with me, well only some. Honestly, I wasn't expecting the public workshop in this place to be better than the Wild or Min, but okay? Maybe its opposite? Maybe the Min and Wild public workshop sucked since they were starting locations? Either way, I brough some of my own alchemist equipment I had stored in the city and began experimenting. The weed dragon materials alone are quite interesting. Its body parts can be cut up, boiled for long time and be turned into a weird green stuff. It doesn't look interesting and its quite ugly, but it contains a lot of mana. The potions effect got boosted, but the limbs weren't the best parts. The tail can be used for the health potion while the heart can be used for creating strong mana potion. This all combined made making and researching potions WAY easier. But also, my experience as the alchemist made me realize that with more experiments as alchemist, not as the class or anything, but as practicing alchemy and doing a lot of different stuff will help you improve yourself as alchemist. So, yea, things were going well. And not only that, but I was finally able to mass produce rare rarity potions. [Danger Forest Healing Potion] [Rarity: Uncommon] [Danger Forest Mana Potion] [Rarity: Uncommon] [Danger Forest Stamina Potion] [Rarity: Uncommon] [Weed Dragon Potion] [Rarity: Rare] By the way, even though the [Weed Dragon Potion] is my best potion I've made so far. But! I can make them stronger! These things are only test version and I have many ideas on how I could improve them! For example, by mixing small ration of the weed dragon heart or maybe adding some of the dugus eyes. Its possible to make those potions into rare rarity ones and maybe I will be able to create something with higher rarity than rare pretty soon? Well, it will unforgettably take bit more time. The weed dragon materials ARE indeed extremely useful, but unfortunately their raw form cannot be used for alchemy, you need to first change them into something usable like a liquid form and like I said before, it takes time. Well, honestly, I'm complaining. These potions are only experimental version that can be improved and yet they are that good. And I can say 100% I can turn those potions into rare rarity one. As for the [Weed Dragon Potion], I don't know. I can definitely make it stronger, but can I make it rank go 1 up higher? If so, it would be a huge success. So, yea, the materials from the weed dragons are WAY better than I though. Not only that, I still have materials from its evolved version that I can mess around with. Maybe I can combine them with the regular weed dragon materials and strengthen the potions effects? So many ideas that I want to test out now! …. But there is one thing I need to mention. Players are coming here and I saw some of them in here while I was doing shopping. I don't know how long it will take, but the players WILL get here. … I don't care. My current research is getting closer to entering the finally stage I was aiming for. I don't care if they see me in the public workshop or see me use my special tools, I DON'T FUKING CARE! The current goal is right in front of me! And all I need to do is to ignore everything and focus. Experiment more! Produce more! The [Alchemy] skill will soon reach level 10. It just matter of weeks or maybe days now. The thing I was waiting for so long will be done and the second research I was waiting for shit how long will be available to me. So, screw everything and focus what is Infront of you. Be patient and you shall be rewarded. And once the enough rewards are claimed, I shall show myself to the world once again and let the "Doctor" on the lose!
