Even love was something borrowed. She stood quietly, waiting for him to finish. But before she could say anything, Qin Feng opened his eyes. He had already sensed her presence. "Did you handle the situation?" he asked calmly. Su Jiyai nodded. "It’s done. Soon, things will be in our favor." She raised an eyebrow and teased him, "How did you know I was going to act?" Qin Feng chuckled softly. "Because I know you. You never let anyone cross the line more than once." Su Jiyai smiled... but then her tablet blinked. It was a message from her system. [Alchemist has finished the pill.] Her eyes lit up instantly. Without warning, she grabbed Qin Feng’s hand. "I have something very important to show you," she said quickly. "We need to go to Sufeng Base." Qin Feng blinked in surprise. "Huh? Why suddenly Sufeng Base?" But Su Jiyai didn’t answer. Instead, she commanded the system, "System, teleport us to Sufeng base." .......................... Inside Sufeng Base... The people walked around normally, chatting and working. It looked peaceful. Soon, Su Jiyai and Qin Feng stood in front of a small, worn-down hut. It looked old, with broken wood panels and a rusty tin roof that looked like it could fly off any second. "This was my home in Sufeng Base," Qin Feng said quietly. Su Jiyai looked at the hut. Her heart didn’t hurt because of how broken it looked... it hurt because this was where her boyfriend had lived. While she had food, safety, and a warm bed at Hope Base... he was stuck here, alone, blaming himself for not coming back in time. That guilt... it must’ve eaten him up inside. Qin Feng didn’t notice her thoughts. He just pushed the door open and led her in. Inside, they saw a man sitting on a small wooden chair. He was reading something under the weak light of an oil lamp. "George," Qin Feng called. George looked up. His eyes widened the second he saw Su Jiyai. "Su Jiyai? How... what?" George stood up so fast that the chair nearly fell. "You’re alive?! But... I heard you were caught in a zombie horde! Everyone said your survival chances were almost zero!" Qin Feng chuckled lightly. "Well, she’s not only alive, she’s doing better than ever. She escaped that time. Lucky, huh?" Su Jiyai smiled and nodded. "Nice to see you again, George." George grinned back. He had always liked Su Jiyai. She was brave, honest, and most importantly, loved Qin Feng with all her heart. In a world like this... love was rare. Most people were too scared to love. But Su Jiyai had even given her blood to save Qin Feng once. That was something George could never forget. "How are you, Su Jiyai?" George asked kindly. "I’m good," she replied. "What about you? What are you doing here?" George glanced at Qin Feng, who gave a small nod. Then George said, "I’ve been guarding Qin Feng’s real body all this time." Su Jiyai’s smile faded a little. "Can you show me?" George didn’t say anything. He just led them to a small back room behind the hut. The air was cold and quiet there. And then... she saw it. Lying on a bed was Qin Feng’s real body. Burned. Blackened. Still. The skin was badly damaged, like someone had set it on fire long ago. But his body was still whole. Sleeping. Waiting. Su Jiyai’s eyes turned moist. She walked up slowly and stared at him. Then, without a word, she took out a small glowing pill from her pocket. She looked at the body, then at Qin Feng. "I’m going to show you my magic now." Qin Feng looked confused. But he didn’t stop her. George also stood quietly. He trusted Su Jiyai completely. Without wasting time, Su Jiyai placed the pill gently into Qin Feng’s burned mouth. Nothing happened. Su Jiyai frowned a little. Then she realized that Qin Feng’s soul wasn’t in this body. "Qin Feng," she said calmly, "Return to your real body." Qin Feng sat down in a chair and closed his eyes. A few seconds later, his soul left Lin Howe’s body and entered his own. Then, he heard her voice again in his mind. "Swallow the pill." Qin Feng obeyed. At first, nothing changed. They all just stared at him. George was about to ask something when suddenly, Qin Feng gasped. He grabbed the bed sheet under him. A cold sensation was spreading through his body. Not just cold... icy. Like his insides were being frozen and boiled at the same time. His back arched slightly. And then... It began. Slowly, right in front of their eyes, the burnt skin on Qin Feng’s arms started to peel away. Underneath it... was fresh, healthy skin. George gasped. The healing continued, his chest, his legs, his face. All the burnt areas were regenerating. The skin looked new and smooth, even a little shinier than before. His black hair grew longer. His blue eyes opened, clearer than ever. A few minutes later, the old charred version of Qin Feng was gone. Now, standing in front of them... was a handsome man with strong features, black hair, glowing skin, and eyes that seemed to hold the whole sky inside. Even Qin Feng himself was stunned. He looked down at his body, then at George. George just stared, wide-eyed. "Boss... you look like a movie star." Though his face wasn’t clearly visible due to the black goo on his body, he could see the flawless skin under it with his super vision. Then Qin Feng turned to Su Jiyai who was grinning from ear to ear. "Check the mirror," she said proudly. Qin Feng got up and walked over to a small cracked mirror on the wall. At first, he didn’t understand what was so special. There was some black goo dripping off his skin. "What’s so amazing?" he asked. "Use your water power," Su Jiyai said gently. "Wash yourself." Qin Feng obeyed. He raised his hand and summoned a stream of clean water. It splashed over his body, washing away the black material. And then... he saw it. His skin was glowing. His features were sharper. He looked stronger, more alive, and healthier than he had in years. He looked like... someone reborn. Qin Feng stared at himself in the mirror, blinking like he couldn’t believe his eyes. He slowly muttered, "I... I got my original look back... My skin... it’s healed?" His voice was full of shock and wonder. Su Jiyai giggled softly behind him. "Of course! For the past few months, I’ve been hunting for rare herbs. Once I got the right one, I asked the alchemist to make that healing pill for you. And now... ta-da! You’re fully healed." She pointed at him with a big grin. "No more worries about which body to use. Your real one is perfect now." Qin Feng’s eyes turned a little misty. He turned to look at Su Jiyai, and for the first time, he looked... shy. No one, not even George, knew how insecure Qin Feng had felt about his burnt body. He hated how it looked. He hated that he couldn’t hug Su Jiyai without thinking she might be uncomfortable or scared. That’s why he always stayed in the forced body... Lin Hao’s body. Even though he loved Su Jiyai deeply, he never had the courage to show her his real self. And now... now she had not only accepted him, but healed him. His heart was racing like a drum. He opened his mouth and whispered, "Thank you..." Su Jiyai blinked. Then she frowned a little, crossing her arms. "Hmph! A simple thank you? That’s it?" She turned to George and winked. "Hey George, be honest. If you were in my shoes, would you be happy with just a thank you?" George caught her cue immediately and smiled. "No way, Jiyai. That’s way too cheap." Su Jiyai nodded like a queen. "Exactly! At least you understand me." She looked back at Qin Feng and tilted her head. "If you really want to thank me, then show some sincerity." Qin Feng raised an eyebrow, amused. "Alright then. How should I show my sincerity?" Su Jiyai smirked. "I’ll tell you tomorrow. Think about it, and then decide if you’re ready to give me your full thanks." Qin Feng laughed softly. "Fine, I’ll wait." Su Jiyai then clapped her hands. "Alright! Now that your body is all better, you should go back to work. I’ve got something important to take care of. I’ll see you later!"
