His fingers twitched, but he kept his expression calm. “Bring me a chair,” he said quietly. Yuan Xin, though anxious, quickly fetched another chair and placed it in front of his father. Jake sat down in front of Yuan Ni, his face serious, and placed his hands gently on Yuan Ni’s legs. The room was silent except for the faint hum of the air outside, tension thick in the air. At first, nothing seemed to happen. Yuan Ni felt no change, and Yuan Xin began to shift uncomfortably, his hope wavering. Was this really going to work? But then, Yuan Ni’s eyes suddenly widened.
