After all the chaos with the silver bird, time powers, and strange truths... Su Jiyai could only sigh.
She looked at the stubborn bird still clinging to Qin Feng and muttered, "Fine. Do what you want. Let’s just sleep already."
Then...
A third one added, "You even slept with her!" (He meant "camped," but it sounded really bad.)
Then one of them mumbled, "You’re lying! You were with Xi Ping the whole time!"
The scammers went silent.
The bird didn’t care at all. He quickly hopped onto Qin Feng’s shoulder and snuggled into his neck with a soft yawn. "Night night, Dad..."
The night passed.
"Wait... that’s true. If she’s not the owner, why would she promise anything?"
Because at this point... they all realized they weren’t dealing with homeless folks.
The messy-haired man pointed dramatically. "Liar! You said it! You just forget!"
"Yeah!" another one shouted. "You’re just trying to trick us!"
Su Jiyai nodded. "Forget villains. This is real evil."
One scammer pointed at her, angry. "So you’re saying you’re not involved at all?"
They turned to face Qin Feng.
"True angel!"
She was this close to shouting again when suddenly—
"Just give it to them already!"
He laid down on one side. Su Jiyai, still in her disguise form as a teenage boy, lay next to him and snuggled a little closer, since it was cold.
"I NEVER AGREED TO ANYTHING!" she shouted.
It was Qin Feng, walking toward them slowly, his hands in his pockets, a totally cool and confident look on his face.
The live stream comments were mixed:
Xi Ping shrugged. "Exactly."
But Qin Feng, if he could hear her thoughts, would’ve said: That wasn’t my idea! It was Su Jiyai who whispered the plan to me earlier! I’m just acting!
Now the scammers really froze.
"We begged her for two days... she said yes!"
"Please don’t break our hearts!"
Qin Feng and Su Jiyai exchanged a look.
Qin Feng raised an eyebrow and said calmly, "Yes, this RV belongs to me. So how dare you say that Xi Ping owns it or that she promised to give it to you?"
Their RV... was surrounded.
Someone else screamed, "My grandma lives in a tent! My baby has no pillow!"
A teenage girl followed. "I lost my sister in a scam... please... the RV is all we have..."
"Did I miss something?" Su Jiyai whispered.
The 20 so-called "homeless" people looked around awkwardly.
Qin Feng nodded. "Yeah... we all need rest."
Xi Ping folded her arms. "I never said I’d give away my RV."
"What the..." Xi Ping blinked.
Su Jiyai and Qin Feng watched in pure horror.
A scam group that wanted to steal the RV using livestream pressure, fake sympathy, and a tsunami of lies.
The 20 scammers looked at each other, sweat forming on their brows.
Next Morning
The scammers all started sobbing even louder.
They were dealing with a full-blown scam group.
Xi Ping blinked in surprise. Then her lips curled into a grin.
The 20 scammers froze. They looked confused.
Xi Ping stepped forward.
No one answered.
"Mister, if you can give the RV to us, we will be forever indebted to you!"
One by one...
The scammers started talking fast, mixing facts and lies to make it sound believable. Some things almost made sense. It was actually kind of impressive.
Su Jiyai and Qin Feng stopped walking.
"Sigh... just how shameless people can be nowadays."
One of them shouted, "But we told you our stories! You felt bad for us!"
"Yes," Xi Ping said firmly.
Xi Ping chuckled coldly. "Sure. But guess what? I’m not even the owner. So even if I did say something kind like ’you can have it’—it wouldn’t matter. It’s not mine. Go ask the real owner."
"You are rich if you can have this custom-made RV. Just give it to us and make a new one for yourself."
About twenty people were sleeping all around the RV. Some were curled up against the tires. Others had blankets spread across the sand.
Soon, the four of them reached a small cave by the hill. There were barely any good spots to sleep, just some flat stones, cold dirt, and mossy walls. Definitely not luxury living.
"What’s going on here? Why are you all crowding around my RV?"
The sleepy man stood up. "Perfect! We want it. Hand over the keys."
"She’s acting greedy now. What a disappointment."
"You don’t need an RV anyway! You’re young!"
One man with messy hair sat up, rubbing his eyes. "Eh? Is this your RV?"
"She’s so kind!"
"Yeah! You promised us this RV and now you’re pretending like it never happened!"
"Yes, mister, you might not know this, but my mother is fighting Gyaroadernaite disease currently. With this RV, she will have a place to live!"
Xi Ping continued, "I’ve only met this guy like once or twice. I’m here on a mission. A business trip. That’s it."
A calm voice came from behind the crowd.
"...Excuse me?" Xi Ping’s voice cracked.
She slowly looked away. "I... I need therapy."
And just like that, the livestream exploded.
Xi Ping sat on the other side, her eyes twitching.
Even the livestream comments were changing.
"You can’t take a gift from someone who doesn’t own the thing in the first place."
"So pure-hearted!"
A few had even placed their shoes near the RV door like it was their home!
Qin Feng stayed calm. "Excuse me?"
"Then you’re a scammer!" one of them yelled. "You gave us false hope!"
More people gathered. Some started clapping and smiling fake tears.
Qin Feng could’ve just opened a portal and returned, but he stayed quiet. He had secretly copied Xi Ping’s teleportation ability but didn’t want her to know. So he just followed silently.
"Indeed, I saw it too! Maybe you have schizophrenia."
Xi Ping narrowed her eyes. "I never made any promise. Even if I did say something, I never talked about giving away an RV. Be serious. Who gives away an expensive RV to twenty people just like that?"
"She’s lying now... she’s changed..."
Qin Feng muttered, "I’ve fought zombies, monsters, and time beasts... but I’ve never seen this level of shamelessness."
Meanwhile, the little bird peeked out from inside the RV window and chirped, "Why are there so many smelly people here?"
She pointed at Qin Feng.
"She was just being nice, maybe, but they’re using it against her."
They knelt down on the sand and began begging.
Qin Feng sighed but let the bird stay.
But then—
"I think this is a scam after all..."
Wow. He’s using his brain for once. Proud of you, Qin Feng.
Xi Ping: "WHAT?! I NEVER SAID THAT!"
Qin Feng pointed at the RV behind him. "I left this RV here just two days ago. I come back and find random strangers claiming it as theirs? Who even are you people?"
"I feel like we just walked into a drama show," Qin Feng replied.
"Are you really going to say no to a crying child?!"
But when they arrived—
"I don’t know him," she said loudly, pointing at Qin Feng.
"Mister, you are kind and handsome. Please have mercy on us and let us have the RV."
Someone pulled out a phone. "Let’s livestream this moment! The kind, generous girl who promised her RV to the homeless!"
Xi Ping was seriously about to cry. Her eyes were red, and her fists were clenched so tight her knuckles turned white.
Soon, they reached the shore.
The water sparkled under the sun, and they walked with light steps, ready to return to the RV they had parked near the beach before exploring.
Everyone turned around.
Xi Ping’s face turned red—not from shame, but from rage.
The scammers gasped. "She’s pretending now! I saw her mouth say it! I heard it! I SWEAR!"
From her view, it looked like: A teenage boy was cuddling with a grown man under the same blanket. And the man’s "child" was a talking bird.
One older man stepped forward, fake tears in his eyes. "My house burned down... my cat ran away... and then she... she promised me hope!"
The crowd started whispering. The livestream viewers were now very confused.
They didn’t know what to say. Xi Ping’s logic made too much sense.
The people stirred.
Xi Ping marched forward. "Hey! This RV belongs to me! Get off!"
Xi Ping didn’t say anything, but her face clearly screamed: What even happened today?
Another woman yawned. "Come on, don’t be shy! You said you’d give it to us."
The trio woke up early and left the island. They had collected all the edible materials, herbs, and strange beast meat they needed. There was just one thing left—to transfer the land ownership or at least get a house on the island under Xi Ping’s name.
Comments flooded in:
"Upstairs, aren’t you being too cold-hearted? My sibling has Gyaroadernaite disease too! It’s a very deadly disease. I think this man should give away the RV."
