But what caught her attention the most were the skeletal remains of the children. Su Jiyai grimaced, her hand instinctively reaching for the rolling pin strapped to her side. Su Jiyai stood a safe distance away, watching the horde of zombies spread out before her. There were so many—at least 500, if not more. Some were lazily shuffling through the remnants of the decaying bodies strewn across the field, devouring rotten flesh in a gruesome display. Others were wandering aimlessly, their lifeless eyes searching for fresh prey. The institute had been ruthless, throwing the children’s remains to these monsters, turning the site into a macabre feeding ground. Without hesitating, Su Jiyai bent down, picked up a fist-sized stone, and hurled it toward the center of the zombie horde. The stone clattered loudly against a piece of broken metal, instantly catching the attention of the nearby zombies. In an instant, more than fifty Level 3 zombies snapped their heads toward the sound, their mouths gaping open in an eerie, silent snarl. Their bodies moved unnaturally fast, leaping forward with alarming speed, heading directly for Su Jiyai’s position. A sly grin tugged at the corners of her lips as she reached for her weapon. With a rolling pin in one hand and a colander securely strapped to her head, Su Jiyai took a deep breath. She knew this was going to be a tough fight, but she was ready. She needed this challenge. The first zombie lunged at her, its claws swiping wildly through the air. Su Jiyai ducked under its attack and swung the rolling pin with all her might, smashing it into the side of the zombie’s head. The force of the blow sent the creature sprawling to the ground, its skull cracked open like a rotten fruit. Without pausing, she spun on her heel, bringing the rolling pin down on the next zombie that came too close. But they were relentless. For everyone she struck down, two more were closing in, their decaying bodies moving with unnerving speed.
