The receptionist saw the pricey wallet and said with difficulty, "I’m sorry, Miss. I’m afraid you have recognized the wrong person. The lady who went in earlier is Miss Liao. And that gentleman has specifically instructed us not to disturb them right now. You see..."
"Miss Liao? You must be mistaken; her surname is Deng. I’m not wrong," Su Ziceng argued firmly.
"We have not made a mistake; Miss Liao is our regular customer," the receptionist lowered her head to check the registration log again, replying politely. Clearly, the presence of Su Ziceng was not someone easy to deal with. As the receptionist was checking, Su Ziceng leaned forward and caught a glimpse of a strange name.
"Miss, you can’t do that." The receptionist, scared by this well-dressed but unorthodox young lady, quickly pulled back the register.
"Liao Chenchen?" In the short back-and-forth, Su Ziceng managed to see one name clearly. In such a high-class hotel, it is required for both men and women to register together.
How could it not be Deng Jiani? Even though her outfit today was different from usual. Deng Jiani in school usually wears light makeup, but today she unexpectedly put on heavy makeup. At first glance, she indeed could hardly be recognized.
Due to the wine shop incident, Su Ziceng had almost forgotten about the matter with Deng Jiani. It only came back to her when she accidentally met her today. During the hottest phase of Deng Jiani and Hang Yishao’s relationship, wasn’t that in the second semester of freshman year? It was said that Hang Yishao had even rented an apartment off-campus by then. Counting the time, it was almost close.
Su Ziceng had never liked Deng Jiani, and her habit of paying off women started from that time. She still remembered how Deng Jiani cried when she revealed that she was Hang Yishao’s fiancée.
That outwardly innocent department belle is the one she spent a million to get rid of, and because of whom Hang Yishao had a fight with her.
"This saves me the trouble; I was worrying about not having a million to pay Deng Jiani off." Su Ziceng didn’t plan to use her family’s money, so she needed to manage her finances better.
Monday was usually the time for horse riding lessons, but Su Ziceng and Yan Wuxu had chosen a baking class instead and hadn’t gone to horse riding lately, except today was special; Su Ziceng wanted to "stir up some excitement."
With a successful demonstration of Tiramisu from the last owed lesson, when they made it again, it was effortless. Even the eggs Su Ziceng was responsible for breaking ended up with only one getting cracked. Wen Maixue, after seeing it, finally agreed to let them pass smoothly.
"It’s earlier than expected from class end," Yan Wuxu said after packing up, watching Su Ziceng carefully divide the well-shaped tiramisus into portions. "We probably should start preparing for the finance class’s spreadsheet homework. I was helping at home over last weekend and had set aside the homework."
"Alright, but before that, let us first go to the equestrian playground to ’deliver a big gift’," Su Ziceng said, looking at the beautifully packaged bags and laughing gleefully.
Yan Wuxu hadn’t realized what was meant and mumbled, "Are you going to deliver cakes? Right, the last Tiramisu was a disaster. Let Teacher Pei Luo see our new product too, but you can go alone; I won’t join. I’m still hesitant about places where Fei Qing shows up."
"No way, the more people who watch, the better the show; let me tell you something..." Su Ziceng recounted what she had encountered yesterday.
"Really!" Yan Wuxu and Deng Jiani had some interactions. Deng Jiani always acted superior, looking down on her background; unexpectedly, she was also such a person.
At the equestrian playground, the students had just finished riding. Hang Yishao and Fei Qing found a corner and secretly started smoking.
"Look, is there a suitable house nearby? I want to rent one," Hang Yishao said, beaming.
"Why, you got her?" Fei Qing glanced at Deng Jiani riding around the playground, her cheeks flushed under the sun, her riding attire making her look even more charming.
"Yeah, we both drank a bit too much last night and ended up lying together," Hang Yishao smiled. "I asked her, and she is willing."
"Tsk tsk, you’re not thinking of settling down, are you? Don’t forget about the big and small ones from the Su family; they haven’t been dealt with yet," Fei Qing thought. "If Su Ziceng found out, she’d probably be furious."
"What happens next, who can say?" Hang Yishao recalled Su Ziceng from the banquet the other day and the scene when she was whispering with Shang Yin and grunted quietly.
Since yesterday, he had started working at the Hang Family’s business; indeed, there was a pile of work, and he was burning the candle at both ends. Last night he went out to relax with Deng Jiani and drank a bit too much. But Deng Jiani was still comforting, knowing how to appease him, and last night, they crossed the last boundary together.
"What happens next is uncertain, but your current big and small wives are about to clash head-on; look there." Fei Qing pointed towards the playground, as Su Ziceng and Yan Wuxu were heading straight towards them, Su Ziceng holding a few pieces of cake in her hand.
It seemed there was no need for him to scheme behind the scenes anymore. Su Ziceng was willingly walking into the fray. Her mood seemed quite good, the exquisite packaging bag flashing dazzling light, her face full of smiles.
On the other side, Deng Jiani also reined in her horse, watching warily as Su Ziceng approached Hang Yishao. A woman’s sixth sense told her that Su Ziceng would be a significant obstacle to her climbing up the social ladder.
