There was fresh snow piled on its roof, and there were quite a few people standing around it. A middle-aged man with yellow-stained front teeth held a bottle of booze, breathing on the car window, boasting drunkenly, "Did you see that? This is my daughter’s car, my flesh and blood daughter. That good-looking young guy just now, that’s my future son-in-law, how well-matched, dare anyone mock me for having no son to send me off in the end." The neighbors were all around the car, spitting and complimenting the man for raising such a good daughter. At the sight of the car’s license plate, Su Ziceng first closed her eyes and then covered her mouth with her hand, fearing that she couldn’t help but cry out loud. Now she was not only struggling to control her mouth, but her eyes as well didn’t want to believe what they saw. She believed that as long as she corrected her arrogant disposition and could stand on her own, she could retain the happiness that she had once lost. It turns out all of it was her wishful thinking, just a futile struggle on her part. The winter belonging to Su Ziceng truly began at that moment.
