"Su Ziceng, what are you doing!!" Hang Yishao had arranged to meet Deng Jiani at the tea bar at two o’clock, only to find Su Ziceng physically assaulting Deng Jiani when he arrived.
"What can I do, I just told her not to act pitiable. Yishao, did you know, she has other men outside. It seems not just one, that hotel even says she’s a regular. You can check if you don’t believe me," Su Ziceng said and then looked at Deng Jiani whose face paled more and her crying grew louder.
Hang Yishao helped Deng Jiani up, "Ever since we were young, you have been nothing but trouble, rejecting every girl who showed me affection since kindergarten. What right do you have to point fingers at her."
"Because I..." Su Ziceng was caught off guard by the sudden turn of events. She only remembered inviting Deng Jiani; how could Hang Yishao be here?
"You are my fiancé," Su Ziceng wanted to say this aloud, but the words choked in her throat, unspoken. She looked at Hang Yishao, who was furious, then at Deng Jiani in his arms.
Her hand gripped tightly on the necklace; the Red Love at the end of the necklace felt like a heated branding iron, melting her throat.
Hang Yishao was destined to be her life’s calamity.
"Because I like you..." Su Ziceng inhaled deeply and blurted out these words. She felt a surge of warmth in her eyes, about to spill out. To hide her discomposure, she turned and rushed out of the tea bar after saying this.
Hang Yishao was stunned, and even Deng Jiani didn’t realize she had stopped crying, "A girl just confessed publicly in the school tea bar," The explosive news soon evolved into "the department belle and an outsider student fought over Hang Yishao in the school tea bar."
In the winter campus, everything was desolate, Su Ziceng ran a lap and still felt unclear.
Her phone kept ringing, Su Ziceng glanced at it, "Chang Chi." She was somewhat surprised, her mind was a mess, Deng Jiani had clearly set a trap for her, and now Chang Chi was also getting involved.
Deng Jiani’s man is a big shot in the Sixth District, she had many admirers around her even during high school, many of whom were ambiguously close to her.
"Why are you helping me," compared to Su Ziceng, Chang Chi’s connections seemed more effective.
"I just can’t stand that foxy lady posturing herself in front of me," Chang Chi didn’t explain much, "Believe it or not, it’s up to you."
"Since he’s from the Sixth District, then Boss Han should also have some information," Su Ziceng thought for a moment and hailed a taxi to go directly to the Sixth District.
The car was driving fine but as it neared the Sixth District, there was a loud bang from the front tire. The driver quickly stopped the car, and upon inspection, found that the front tire was ruined.
"Who knows which bastard threw a pile of debris on the road," the driver muttered, and embarassingly said to Su Ziceng: "Ma’am, look, we’re not far from the Sixth District Car Shop, why don’t you go by yourself, it’s just about twenty minutes away."
Su Ziceng looked at her feet, she was wearing mid-heeled shoes today, walking for a while wouldn’t be a problem, besides her mood wasn’t great, moving around might be good, so she agreed immediately.
There really were many debris and metal scraps on the main road, reminding Su Ziceng of her similarly unfortunate Ferrari. Needless to say, it must be the nearby ruffians causing trouble.
The Sixth District was still the same, only it looked more bleak due to the winter chill. It was only around four to five in the afternoon, but the streets were empty.
This nearby road, Su Ziceng had walked back and forth many times now and was already familiar with it; the wind continuously hitting her face, painfully whipping at her skin.
Su Ziceng turned into a shortcut, as the wind came head-on, feeling like a bucket of cold water had been splashed over her, "Just two more turns to the car shop," she stamped her feet, then turned another corner.
A can was kicked far away, sounding particularly loud in the alley. The high heels stopped, Su Ziceng heard two unfamiliar breathing sounds behind her.
She walked a few more steps, the breathing sounds seemed closer. The weather wasn’t cold enough to freeze, but Su Ziceng felt a chill all over her body, an overwhelming familiar fear engulfing her.
She dared not look back, hurriedly ran forward, her mind recalling a similar alley and the pitch dark room, the nightmares and fears endlessly magnified in her heart.
Everything was wrong, things about Deng Jiani had changed, kidnapping...what was supposed to happen years later, could it be happening earlier?
Su Ziceng’s shoes had flown off, her bare feet didn’t mind the shadows creeping up behind her; as long as she got out of this alley, it was still broad daylight, if she could just shout, someone would surely hear her voice.
A stone cut her foot, leaving streaks of blood on the ground. The owners of the breaths caught up, pinning Su Ziceng to the ground.
Two men in their twenties, looking shady, Su Ziceng widened her eyes in terror, one of them covered her mouth. She struggled crazily, biting the man’s hand.
"Stupid bitch," the hideously-faced man slapped her several times. Su Ziceng couldn’t even scream before she was subdued by the two men.
"Our boss said, she wanted to show you some colors," the other man’s hand ripped open Su Ziceng’s wool coat, his sleazy gaze lingering on her tight sweater.(To be continued.
