Chapter 43: Couples Challenge After a few minutes, they arrived at the mall. The three of them exited the car, and as Ethan tapped the car remote, the vehicle returned to its sleek, sporty design. With the sun setting in the background, the mall lights flickered on, casting a soft glow over the entrance. They entered and began exploring the stores, just taking their time. No rush, no pressure. Just good company, warm lights, and the low buzz of evening crowds. The twins dragged him around from store to store, showing off their favorite spots and insisting on buying him anything and everything that caught their eyes. Ethan tried to protest, but they weren’t having it. In a clothing store, Evelyn suddenly grabbed his arm and pulled him toward a section lined with stylish jackets. "This one!" she said, grabbing a dark gray jacket and holding it up against his chest. "How does it look?" "Good," Ethan replied. "Try it on." "What, now?" "Yes, now." "Right here?" "Where else?" Ethan sighed and gave in, sliding on the jacket. He stepped in front of the nearby mirror and checked himself out. It was a perfect fit. "I guess this is fine," he mumbled. Evelyn grinned and patted his arm. "Perfect. We’ll buy it." "Really? This thing’s expensive," he said. "Doesn’t matter." "You know I can afford my own clothes, right?" "Doesn’t matter," she repeated with a wink. "Let us spoil you a little." She linked her arm with his and tugged him toward the register. Meanwhile, Everly was in the shoe section, picking out a few pairs. "What about these?" she called out. "They look great," Ethan replied. She smirked. "You haven’t even looked at them." "Still true. Everything you pick ends up looking good." Her cheeks turned pink as she walked over, showing him the shoes. They were sleek, black, and stylish. "Here," she said, grabbing another pair. "These too. Try them." Ethan sat on the bench and slipped them on. "They fit nicely," he said, bouncing his foot a little. "You like them?" "Yeah." "Great! I’m getting both." He chuckled. "You two are unstoppable." "Nope. You’re just too easy to spoil," Everly shot back with a grin as she headed to the cashier. By the time they finished shopping, Ethan had a new jacket, two pairs of shoes, and a hoodie that Evelyn dared him to buy—one that boldly read, "Property of my girlfriends." He didn’t even hesitate. Just tossed it into the pile with a half-smile and a shake of his head. They wandered around a bit more before stumbling across a restaurant decorated with soft lights and pastel banners. A big pink sign caught their attention: "Couples Challenge! Win a Free Meal and Sweet Treats by Completing Our Intimacy Bonding Quiz!" Evelyn and Everly exchanged glances. Then turned to Ethan. Then, back at each other—smirking. "Let’s do it," Everly said immediately. "It sounds fun," Evelyn added, her grin wide and dangerous. Ethan raised a brow. "You two sure? It’s a couples thing." "Exactly," Everly said, grabbing his arm. "Just pretend we’re a happy trio," Evelyn said, nudging him. "Two girlfriends, one lucky boyfriend. Easy." Before he could object, a cheerful hostess appeared and waved them over. "Welcome to our Couples Challenge! Are you three participating?" Everly stepped forward confidently. "Yup. All three of us." The hostess blinked, then shrugged. "No rule against it! Come on in." They were led to a small booth decorated with heart-shaped pillows, soft red lights, and tiny heart streamers dangling above. A pink screen was mounted on the wall, a pulsing heart icon at its center. "Just tap to begin," the hostess said with a smile and left. Ethan hesitated, but Everly reached forward and tapped the screen before he could think twice. ’Let’s begin! Question 1: How well do you know your partner’s preferences? Question 2: On a romantic evening, would they prefer a candlelit dinner or a movie cuddle? Question 3: Where do they like to be kissed the most?Question 4: What’s their guilty pleasure?’ Ethan opened his mouth, but the twins beat him to it. "Neck," Everly answered with a smirk. "Lips," Evelyn added, poking Ethan’s cheek. "But we’re still discovering new ones." Ethan cleared his throat and reached for his drink. "You two don’t hold back, do you?" They just giggled. The questions kept coming—bolder this time: ’Question 5: Do a 5-second forehead kiss. Question 6: Compliment your partner’s best feature. Question 7: Hold hands and whisper something naughty—only they can hear it.’ Everly leaned in and kissed his forehead, soft and slow. Evelyn followed with a whisper in his ear—low and sultry, her lips brushing his skin. Whatever she said made him look away, cheeks flushed but smirking. Then came the compliments. The twins went first, teasing his arms, his smile, his voice. Ethan gave it back with ease. "Best feature?" he grinned, eyes flicking between them. "Honestly, you two don’t have weak spots." He looked at Everly first. "That body’s no joke. Curves that don’t quit and that smile? Dangerous." Then to Evelyn. "And you—long legs, tiny waist, and a walk that could kill. It’s not fair." Everly giggled, clearly enjoying the attention. Evelyn smirked and leaned forward, voice smooth. "Only kind of hard to stare?" she teased. Ethan chuckled. "Alright—very hard." They were both glowing now, a mix of flattery and playful tension lighting up their expressions. "And you?" Evelyn asked, fingers tracing the table toward him. "You think we haven’t noticed?" Everly nodded, eyes trailing over his torso. "The way your shirt fits when you stretch? You’ve been teasing us since the car." "Don’t forget the abs," Evelyn added, casually poking his side. "That should be illegal." Ethan raised his hands in mock surrender. "Guilty as charged." For a moment, the teasing held a little more heat, but no one said anything, as there was still that thin sheet of paper that was blocking them from expressing their feelings. Then they burst into laughter again, playful energy settling back in. Finally, the screen flashed one last challenge: Say something you’d never admit in public. Everly leaned in first. "He’s hot when he’s serious." Evelyn followed. "I like it when he tells us what to do." Ethan gave a short laugh and shook his head, rubbing the back of his neck. "You two are out of control." Confetti burst on the screen. "CONGRATULATIONS! Challenge complete! You’ve won a full-course dinner and dessert platter!"
