Chapter 4 - Status Page After Ethan got used to the new reality, he wanted to see what he would get out of the missions, so he decided to complete the first task: testing his strength, speed, and senses. Ethan dropped to the floor and started with push-ups. At first, he expected his arms to strain like usual, but instead, his body moved with surprising ease. Each push-up felt smooth, controlled, and almost too easy. He sped up, doubling his usual pace, yet his muscles barely burned. It was as if his body had been fine-tuned overnight. Curious, he switched to sit-ups. Again, no fatigue. He powered through them in seconds before transitioning to squats. His legs felt light, each movement effortless. He took it a step further—jump squats. The floor felt farther away than before, his body reacting with a grace and balance he had never known. Standing up, he decided to try something more dynamic. He threw a few punches into the air, expecting the usual weight behind them, but his fists cut through like blades. Faster, stronger, and all the while his breathing stayed even, his body stable. He shuffled his feet, testing his agility, dodging imaginary attacks. It felt like he had spent years training without realizing it. "Damn... this is unreal." A smile tugged at his lips as the system's voice chuckled in his mind. 'Not bad. This might actually be kind of fun.' As Ethan showered and dressed, he tried his best to ignore the fact that he looked different. Better. More... well, attractive. His clothes felt tighter than they had before, hugging his new frame. As he buttoned up his dress shirt, the sleeves tightened around his arms, the fabric struggling to fit around the new definition in his biceps. He groaned. "Great. Just great. I don't know who I'm supposed to impress with all this, but they better appreciate it." After a moment, he sighed and headed toward the door. He wasn't going to spend his life staring at himself in the mirror. After all, he had a job to do. But as he made his way downstairs, he could not help but talk to the system. 'Hey, System?' The voice responded without missing a beat. [Yes, Master?] 'Do you have a status page or something similar?' A soft chime echoed in his mind as the system complied. The effect increases with proximity and intent. Mana Affinity (Low) – Basic control over mana, allowing for minor energy reinforcement and control. Minor Aura Concealment Skill – Suppresses your natural allure from weaker individuals. Incubus Detection (Locked - Requires 5% Awakening) – Can detect individuals with a natural attraction or hidden desires towards the user. Seductive Voice (Locked - Requires 10% Awakening) – Enhances the user's voice with a hypnotic quality, making suggestions more compelling. Enhanced Stamina (Passive) – Due to his Incubus bloodline, the user has significantly greater stamina than an average superhuman. Dreamwalker (Locked - Requires 15% Awakening) – Grants the ability to enter the dreams of those with emotional connections to the user. ??? ??? ??? .... 'Well, that's quite the list.' Ethan's eyes flicked between each line, absorbing the information. There were still plenty of things locked away, but it was still interesting. The system continued. [Incubi have three main skills that allow them to survive. These are their natural weapons and are the most basic manifestations of the Incubus Bloodline. As they evolve and gain control over their abilities, the skills become stronger and more refined, and the host is able to do things that only Incubi can do. Now, the first one is the Charming Aura, which is your passive aura. As the Incubus Bloodline activates and grows, the aura grows, which is why you felt it even though you are still just a low-level Incubus. The second is Mana Affinity, which is something most humans posses as this is something you need to be able to awaken your superpower and while Incubi don't rely on it, they can still learn how to use it, but unlike others, they have a more naturally gifted just like all the other races.] 'Wait, there are more races other than humans?' Ethan asked, surprised that he was not a special case. The system chuckled. [Of course. The universe is a big place. And while the planet you're living in is a unique place, the multiverse is vast and full of different realms, all filled with various creatures.] Ethan blinked, trying not to think too hard about it. 'Okay, well, the third skill?' The system hummed. Then, the system explained minor aura concealment skills in detail, while the other skills were not explained in detail as she wanted to leave them alone until he unlocked them.
