His fiery Dragon Fist failed to break through. Before becoming a monster, Filvis had awakened both offensive and defensive magic, making her one of Orario's rising stars. Her spell, Divine Savior's Grail, could block both physical and magical attacks, and its ultra-short chant made it highly versatile. She had once taught this spell to Lefiya of the Loki Familia, who, with her Elf Ring, could also use it. Lefiya had since used it many times to protect her allies in battle. Filvis's tone changed as she drew a dagger from behind her. She lunged, the blade aimed viciously at Charles's throat. Charles reached for it, but Filvis—already familiar with the melting power of his fire—didn't repeat her mistake. With a light step, she leapt into the air, avoiding the molten fate of her weapon. In the structure of Falna, there were no fixed classes. An adventurer could wield a shield and tank, or don light armor and scout. But some roles required specific conditions—like a magic-user needing to awaken actual magic. Within the mage category, beyond stationary bombardment mages, there was another even more demanding specialization. The magic swordsman. To take on this role, one had to master the technique of Concurrent Chanting while also possessing exceptional close-combat skills. Casting spells while maintaining composure in combat took intense training. Someone like Bell didn't count—he had fast-casting magic and main-character plot armor. Filvis, clearly, was a true magic swordsman. While midair, she began chanting seamlessly. "Purge the wicked, sacred rod—Divine Bacchus's Staff!"
