Chapter 93: “Sir, do you perhaps want to be my sugar daddy?” Seraphina’s POV I walked toward the sliding door Lucien had pointed to. Honestly, I thought it was just a washroom with a fresh set of simple clothes waiting for me. But the moment I slid the door open... I froze. My eyes were practically blinded by the shine coming from inside. It wasn’t just simple clothes for me. There were elegant dresses, neatly lined like something from a high-end boutique. Shimmering jewelry sets sat in velvet trays like an elite auction, along with sleek imported watches, luxury handbags, and rows of designer shoes and heels which was all arranged like a display in some luxurious store. What the actual hell!? Who did all this belong to? Me? I took a step in with a completely baffled look on my face. Why would he spend so much on me? Was he planning on becoming my sugar daddy or something?! Goddamn it! I didn’t even know what to think anymore. My brain was crashing. This closet... No, this walk-in closet... was twice the size of the bedroom it was attached to. Just how rich was this man? And more importantly... why spend money on me? He literally seemed to have bought the whole store of each thing, and surprisingly, they were perfectly my size. At last, I stopped looking at the glittery madness and searched for something simple and finally found a section tucked in the corner. The section of baggy t-shirts and loose jeans. The kind of stuff I usually wore. But even those were of high-end brands like Shannel, R&M, and Valenciaga... brands. Seriously?! If these so-called simple clothes were this expensive... I didn’t even want to guess the price of those dresses and jewelry. Fuck! I didn’t want to think anymore. Shaking my head, I quickly changed and stepped out of the room, remembering Lucien had gone to the kitchen. Honestly, I thought he’d call a maid or someone to cook for me. But the moment I stepped into the kitchen... my heart stopped and my jaw dropped. There he was in a white shirt, sleeves rolled up, tie still hanging loosely around his neck. His pale hands moved with precision, veins visible beneath his skin... like something out of a painting. He looked so calm, yet focused... cooking with such care that he seemed a little... nervous. I just stood there, frozen, staring at him. Was he trying to seduce me? Because if he was... Congratulations, Lucien. You succeeded. Damn it, this guy! I shook myself back to reality and cleared my throat. "You didn’t have to cook by yourself, you know." Lucien looked up and gave me a soft smile. Shit. Even his smile was lethal. Wait... was I drunk? Had I lost my mind completely? Why the hell was I falling apart over a man who had just rolled his sleeves?! I was too old to feel something perverted! "Come, sit," he said gently, pulling out a chair for me like a gentleman or a prince, waiting for his princess. Sir, can you stop?My heart is not prepared. I’ll die here and lose my second life too! I coughed again to hide the mess going on inside my head and walked over to sit in the chair he’d pulled out. "Thank you," I muttered politely, pretending that I wasn’t having such wild thoughts for him. Lucien turned back to the platform and said in a lower tone. "I’ve only ever cooked for my master who trained me... and a few people who were important to me." Then he paused and his next word almost came out as a whisper. "I only cook for people who feel special to me." No! Nope! I can’t fucking do this. Please, sir, stop being so sweet or I swear I’ll lose all self-control! "Where is your cell phone? Why didn’t you pick up my calls!?" In the end, I had to change the subject as my nerves were all over the place, and this was the only way I could calm them. "Oh... that," he muttered, scratching the back of his neck. "It was your brother Adrian... He pissed me off so badly, that I ended up slamming my phone against the wall." "Excuse me!?" My eyes flew wide. "Do you even realize how expensive that phone was? Who breaks a phone like that? Have you never heard of financial awareness!?" Lucien turned to me with an amused expression with one eyebrow slightly raised. "What? Are you worrying about my finances now?" There it was again, that teasing tone and smug little grin. This made me want to punch him and kiss him at the same time. I opened my mouth to fight back, but before I could speak, he added casually, "It’s not that I mind, really. But just so you know... even if I smashed a phone every day, I’d still be just fine, without any bankruptcy!" I didn’t say anything as he carefully served the porridge, like some seven-star hotel chef, then sat across from me with all calm and composed, watching me like he was expecting some reaction from me. I picked up the spoon. It smelled really good and took a bite of the porridge... then the soup he had made on the side. Holy shit. Was this real? Because what I just tasted... wasn’t ordinary at all. It was so damn good... like something a world-class chef would make. No, it was even better... it felt warm and comforting, and it was way better than any fancy restaurant food I’ve ever had! I tried to focus on the food and not on the pair of intense eyes staring at me like they were trying to gulp my entire soul. I ignored him and busied myself with munching on the food in front of me. "How was it? Do you like it?" He asked with a curious look on his face and picked up the glass of water. While I, however, put the spoon down and gave him a serious look. "Sir, do you perhaps want to be my sugar daddy?"
