Chapter 87: That Adrian Bastard! Lucien’s POV I had a thousand questions for Adrian that had been burning inside since the moment he mentioned Room 402. I could tell that he knew something about it. But before I could even get a damn word out of his mouth, he fucking hung up, leaving me hanging, as he had always done. What the hell does he want from me? He always called when it suited him, dropped words on me like a bomb, and then disappeared before clarifying himself. He never bothered to explain the full picture. I stared at the dead screen in disbelief for a moment, then anger snapped. "What the hell!" I shouted in rage. My hand moved before I could stop myself as the phone flew across the room and crashed against the wall with a violent crack. "You bastard, Adrian!" I growled through clenched teeth. "Call me again... I fucking dare you! See if I ever pick up!" My chest heaved with fury. I didn’t even care that the cell phone was shattered. My head was spinning, and my blood was boiling. I hated how easily he got under my skin and made me feel like I was always one step behind. "Master!" a voice called out breathlessly. I didn’t bother looking up until I heard the rush of footsteps. My secretary barged in with wide eyes as his voice was alarmed. "Are you alright?! I heard a loud sound—like something broke—" He stopped mid-sentence when he saw the phone lying in pieces against the wall. "Wh... What happened?" He asked as he started gathering the parts of the broken cell phone. "Is everything alright?" "Do I look like I’m okay?" I grunted. "Find that fucking Adrian bastard! I have to know where he is hiding, and you have only a week!" "Are you serious, boss?" My assistant shot up in shock. "A week is too short!" I glared at him for talking back to me. I knew it was too little, but I was furious and wanted to find him and beat the shit out of him on my own! "What about the mental hospital? Did you find anything?" I inhaled deeply, letting go of the topic of Adrian. Because thinking about him made my blood boil and made me want to kill him more and more. "We are on it, boss!" He responded. "We have invaded the hospital, but to find that room is hard, as the person in question was not present there." I raised my brow as I looked at him questioningly. Just who was the person in question? "Who do you need?" I inquired. "Why didn’t you give me the progress report if you guys were finding it difficult to handle it on your own?" "We... I mean... You have been busy with the meetings, so... I didn’t want to bother you with that," the assistant replied. "And moreover, there is something that I wanted to report related to Miss Lan!" "What is it?" The moment I heard him mention Sera’s name, my ears perked up, grabbing all my attention. As if he had mentioned it deliberately, to calm me down, and strangely, all my anger turned into excitement! "Something big happened at the school, and her parents were called, but Mrs. Lancaster... She not only ignored her but even told the dean that they could just expel her if they wanted!" "What!!?" I almost shot to my feet after hearing this! How could be a mother this cruel? She was the one who gave birth to her and... I was still thinking when he continued. "She was being reprimanded, and everyone was gossiping about her, but then Third Young Master showed up but that was not only what happened... Even Second Young Master was back and sided with Miss Lan!" "Really?" I said with an amused look. I hadn’t expected Asher to change this fast! Not only was he looking after Sera with responsibility, but it seemed he was wholeheartedly involved with this mission. However, what shocked me the most was Alistair’s arrival. How was he back so soon? I guess this was the time to meet him, after all... I’m the biggest investor in his entertainment company and his boss! "How is Sera doing after the incident?" I questioned, as I was worried about her. "She is doing fine, but she has not gone back home since then... It seems she doesn’t want to cross paths with Mrs. Lancaster," he replied, to which I nodded and waved my hand for him to leave. I sat there wondering whether I should call Alistair first or ask Sera if she was doing fine, but in the end, my eyes landed on the wall where I had slammed my cell phone. So, I couldn’t call either of them. "Fucking bastard!" I cursed under my breath. "Nothing ever good happens whenever I get involved with that rascal." I stayed at the office pretty late because I had several things to take care of. In the end, I ended up working at the office until about ten p.m. "Boss, do you want me to bring some food for you?" my assistant asked. "No need, I have something to take care of," I said and picked up my blazer to leave. "Take care of the room no. 402, and if there’s something you need, inform me instantly; I’d take care of it." "Yes, Boss!" He nodded as I left, looking at my broken cell phone one last time and telling him to get me a new phone first thing in the morning. It had been eight hours since I broke my cell phone, and trust me, I was feeling so relieved that I didn’t have to pick up a call from some investors or anyone else. However, what I had not expected when I was leaving for home was that someone was waiting for me at the front door. The moment I reached the front gate of my house, I could see someone sitting in front of my door.
