••• -Arlette’s Office- It was after school. Mage-Knight Training class was over a good while ago and while every other student was heading off to their dormitories or maybe the library to catch up on homework, Caius was lying on the sofa on top of Arlette, doing some learning himself. Or at least, she was trying to teach him and he was distracting her with his mouth sucking on her soft neck. "Ngh... Devotion can be very important—Mmm—when using Dark Magic. It and Light Magic, are undoubtedly the most spiritual elements—Ahhnnn—t-to ever exist." Arlette had then asked in a doubtful tone before she fired out question after question and he just stared at her unable to answer. Caius did know that there was a Divine force that governed both Light and Dark Magic in this world, but the narrative of [To Kill A Demon Lord...] had glossed over the details in favor of storytelling. He couldn’t, for the life of him, give a detailed response to the questions Delia asked. In fact, he realized he knew more about the Divinity of Light Magic than he did about Dark Magic. The reason for this was of course, because Aurelius was the Main Character and his overall arc was tied into that Divinity. Hell, in his past life, he was the right-hand man to the Goddess of Divine Light. As [To Kill A Demon Lord...] progressed, Aurelius had slipped more and more into his worship of the Goddess and his spells were more like prayers to call for Divine Intervention. So all in all, Caius was so stumped by the questions that Arlette soon slipped into minutes of explanations and he realized there was such a deep lore involved with it all that surpassed what he could have expected. And it was clear she had only scratched the surface. When she said certain words in a language Caius didn’t understand and something within him—something within his Mana itself—leaped in synergy with it, he actually became interested. She had one hand on his back, and her other hand was in his hair, rubbing at his scalp, encouraging him to keep at what he was doing. She even had one leg around him. When Arlette realized this, she didn’t take her hands or legs away. Instead, she held on even more tightly and let out a groan. "I’m only like this because of you," she said. "Alright, fine," he said, "Tell me more." "Really?" Arlette said, sounding disappointed that he was not going to be kissing her anymore which she found weird because this was what she had been trying for since they had been together today. She tried to change her expression to be more enthusiastic but then, she saw the look on Caius’ face change and could tell that he had caught her disappointment. "I knew you wanted this more than you wanted to teach," he said and emphasized his point by squeezing the one breast he was still holding.
