Chapter 158: Could that really work? *

Caius knew Aylin well enough to devise a plan. [To Kill A Demon Lord...] may not have dedicated a lot of time to Aylin but the little that had been explored, especially in regards to her infatuation with Caius, had allowed him, as a reader, to really get a read on her. Clingy and Obsessive were the best words to describe her. At least at the start of the story. Caius in the original story could hardly shake off her advances even if he consistently ignored and rejected them. After Lochxen though, Aylin showed she had a capacity for change and growth. Through narration and her decision not to take a partner if it wasn’t Caius, it was shown that her infatuation never ceased. Still, she managed not to let it consume her completely and focused on other important things in her life. Mainly getting groomed to become the Matriarch of the Khione Family after her mother. In any case, Caius was sure he could foster that infatuation. At the risk of coming off as ’cocky’, he was confident he could get her to like him more than she liked the Caius in the original story. For the simple reason that he was willing to kiss her as the original Caius never would. The result of that kiss could have gone one of two ways; It was either just what Aylin required to get it out of her system and finally be normal around him. After all, you can be drawn to someone because of their looks and find that everything else falls flat and you fall out of that feeling. Or it could go the other way and prove to be just what she needed to be convinced she was right to like him. The latter was the case here. The kiss reinforced Aylin’s feelings and all Caius had to do from then on, was let that need grow. Every aggression from Aylin from that moment on, was merely a testament to how well his plan was working. Sure, she had always been a possessive person even before the kiss but it was only after the kiss that she began to truly show it. The goal was to cultivate a need within Aylin. It was meant to essentially offer her a taste, get her hooked, and then deprive her of it as he had done for weeks now only to come back and dangle it in front of her like the lascivious fruit she was itching to have. He saw in Aylin’s eyes that her mind was working to process his words. ’Could that really work?’ Aylin asked herself thinking about the alternative strategy Caius had offered her. The answer was clear already. Caius determined if she’d get another kiss or not. Two weeks ago, Aylin would have been confident of taking it whether he wanted to give it or not. Two weeks ago, she felt she wouldn’t have gotten trapped by his gaze and would have leaned forward across the inch of space between their faces to grab his lips. But here she was, unable to do that. "I—" Aylin started to say. Caius placed a finger against her lips like he was shushing her but Aylin wasn’t sure what she was even going to say. She didn’t think she had anything to say. Caius moved his finger then. He let his thumb join it and together, they grabbed Aylin’s chin and tilted her face upward slightly before he leaned in and took her lips in a kiss that started tentative at first before quickly growing passionate once Aylin remembered the contact might only last a second. She was so eager and her body shook to show it as she pressed herself against Caius. Her mouth opened according to how he had taught her two weeks ago to grab his lips and suck on them as she tried her best to get her fill of him for the short second he was going to afford her. But then, A second became five. Five seconds became fifteen. Fifteen seconds became thirty. Thirty seconds became a Minute. Caius never pulled back. And why would he? This was essential to his slow burn of a goal, after all. This was a renewal of his need-cultivation within Aylin by giving her one more taste of what she so wanted. He felt Aylin’s tongue urgently working its way into his mouth very efficiently and his tongue tangled with hers as the hand he had around her waist slipped down to her ass, copping a feel that had Aylin moaning into their ongoing kiss. When Caius pulled his lips away from hers, separating their tongues, Aylin’s heart thudded in worry that it was over. Caius took advantage of the space that was now between their upper bodies because of their positions and raised one of his hands to the front of her shirt, letting his finger stroke across the buttons before it was on the high rise of her breasts.
