In the afternoon, the Potions class was held together with Hufflepuff. Once again, Wade paired up with Theo, standing in the corner. Next to them were Ryan and a boy from Hufflepuff. Michael and Padma were up front. Wade noticed that at first, Padma was unwilling to pay attention to Michael. But after Michael said a few words and secretly handed something to her, the girl's anger quickly turned into happiness. Ah, so that's how it is... Wade shook his head secretly. While brewing the potion, Theo seemed hesitant, like he had something on his mind but didn't know how to say it. "After dinner, we'll go to the eighth floor of the castle," Wade whispered. Theo's eyes immediately lit up. ... When Theo saw the Room of Requirement, he was astonished, despite coming from a wizarding family. And when he saw the Vanishing Cabinet, he was even more dumbfounded. "This is the Vanishing Cabinet from the castle?" Theo asked. "I heard it was broken." "I fixed it," Wade said. "I had originally planned to conduct an experiment with Remus today... Oh, Remus Lupin, he's my tutor... but now I have to serve detention with Professor Sprout." Theo nodded, "Then leave the experiment to me... How should I contact Mr. Lupin?" The withered stem and leaves seemed to disintegrate into dust, leaving behind just a single seed that floated back into Wade's palm. The same process repeated, as if the scene was on fast-forward. "Life..." Wade murmured the word, simple yet profound, and felt a vague sense of understanding stirring within him. It wasn't just Herbology—Wade had even gained some insights into Animagus transformations and life alchemy. ... There was still some time left before curfew, so Wade headed to the Room of Requirement. Sure enough, Theo was still there, but he didn't look happy. Instead, he seemed troubled. Hearing the door open, Theo turned around and sighed, "Wade, the experiment failed." "What happened?" Wade was momentarily taken aback and walked over to ask. He carefully inspected the magic rune circuits on the Vanishing Cabinet and found no defects. "I'm not sure what's wrong. It works sometimes but not always." In front of Theo was a sheet of parchment detailing each item that had been transmitted, noting whether the transfer was successful or not. "We conducted a total of fifty experiments—thirty-seven succeeded, and thirteen failed. So about every five attempts, one or two would fail." Theo had kept meticulous records. Wade noticed that the failure rate didn't increase with more magically powerful objects, indicating it was purely random. "But the good news is that even when it fails, the objects or creatures being transmitted don't get damaged. It's like they're just stuck in the cabinet for a bit." Theo looked at Wade and asked softly, "Is there something else that might not be fully repaired? Maybe we could ask Professor Murray." Wade shook his head, "I'm sure it's fully repaired.
