Chapter 64: My wife smells nice Inside the room, Julian pulled Eva into a warm hug. ’’Thank you, Eva.’’ He whispered into her ear, his voice trembling with emotion. He had been living with the pain in his left arm for years—now, he could use his dominant hand fully. Eva, unaware, patted his back in response, Ethan took her out of Julian’s embrace, carrying her in his hands. Her legs wrapped around his waist for support, his hands holding her waist. Pinching his cheeks, ’’Tell me before you lift me. My heart can’t take it.’’ She warned and squeezed his face into different shapes, her eyes lit up, ’so this is how it feels playing with someone’s face, no wonder he likes squeezing my cheeks.’ A giggle escaped her lips before she could stop it. She pressed his cheeks, making his lips puff up. Ethan’s eyes softened, a flicker of helpless amusement dancing within them as he let her do whatever she pleased with his face. Julian glanced at his empty hands and shot Ethan a pointed look—he did it again. She was their wife, and he should learn to curb his possessiveness down a notch. ’’Are you done?’’ Ethan’s deep voice pulled her attention back, and meeting his blue eyes she nodded. ’’It’s my turn.’’ His veiled words, blared an alarm in Eva’s mind, having a hunch it wouldn’t be a normal cheek-pulling. She tried to get down, but his hand tightened around her waist, stopping her in place. ’’I-I just remembered something—’’ her words froze in her throat, and she finally noticed something was wrong with her bed. She looked carefully, this bed was bigger than normal. ’’Did someone change my bed?’’ she asked, feeling it was unnecessary—it wasn’t stained by the black liquid. ’’Oh! We’re moving in with you. Who sleeps apart from their wife.’’ Julian answered, sitting on her bed with a satisfied smile as he watched her stunned expression. Her gaze shifted from them to her bed, and she shook her head fiercely. ’’No, I don’t accept!’’ She wasn’t prepared mentally; they thought of what would happen if she let them stay, sending a mix of anticipation and fear. But the latter took over, and a dark cloud appeared suddenly, showing signs of rain. Eva froze, before shooting the cloud a fierce look. "Don’t you dare fall!’’ at the appearance of the cloud, Ethan pulled her shirt up, to see the faintly glowing tattoo. Julian walked closer and traced the tattoo causing Eva to stiffen and move away from his touch, pressing herself into Ethan’s embrace. "It’s your new powers," Julian spoke with certainty, this was the third time that her outburst of emotions created the cloud or increased the intensity. "But it’s useless. What I’m I supposed to do with a power that forms clouds that rain." Eva said, feeling the power was unnecessary in an underground city. "It’s more than that." Ethan’s firm words made her turn to him; her brow furrowed slightly, a skeptical look crossing her face. He took her hands and glided across his left side. "Your powers healed my old wound, my body feels lighter than before after that black liquid impurities left my body." Eva’s eyes widened at his words. She turned to Julian, and he nodded and pointed to his left arm. "Ugh!> (╬ಠ益ಠ) Ew! We lived with that much impurity!" Eva’s mind was focused on the black liquid, ignoring the important message. Her face wrinkled in disgust and she gently patted Ethan’s hands, signalling to let her go. Ethan and Julian exchanged helpless glances and watched Eva rush to the bathroom. Eva scrubbed every inch of her skin, but the lingering scent refused to fade. The memory of living with those black impurities made her stomach churn, and she scrubbed harder. Thirty minutes passed. ’’knock.’’ "Eva, if you stay there for another ten minutes, I’m coming in." Eva heard the warning in Ethan’s voice. "I can still smell it. I’m not leaving until I smell fresh!" Eva responded, her voice showing she won’t budge. Noticing her stubbornness, he stayed silent and turned the knob. Julian had left the room to bring their lunch and missed such a good thing. Ethan paused in his step as he laid his eyes on Eva’s body. His gaze trailed her body, and his throat grew dry, but he fought back his desire upon noticing her reddened skin. She reached for the soap, but before she could grasp it, she felt herself leave the ground. "Aha!" she cried, the shock of being lifted caught her off guard. Her eyes snapped to Ethan’s blue eyes. "No more, or you’ll peel your skin." He said in a husky tone; the intensity of his gaze froze the words that were about to leave her lips. As he rinsed off the foam from her skin, she sniffed herself secretly and frowned at the slight smell. "I can smell—" she was caught shut by Ethan’s warning gaze. He noticed her sulking, her cheeks puffing out as she huffed under her breath, clearly displeased and not trying to hide it. Ethan sighed and leaned closer to her skin taking an exaggerated sniff, his nose tickling her. "My wife smells nice." Eva’s face flushed at his action, not expecting it from him. "Cough...you can stop." She held his head in place and met his darkened blue eyes, her heart skipped a beat, warning her to run. "We... should—Mm." Ethan took her lips, his hands drawing her body closer. Eva’s eyes widened in surprise, a dazed look taking over as her hands instinctively moved to wrap around his neck. His tongue rolled around her, sucking on them; he dominated her lips, taking her breath away. As the kiss deepened, he pressed her against the wall. She shivered slightly from the cold, her legs wrapped around his waist as he trailed kisses down her neck. Nipping and sucking on them, "Mm~" moans left her lips, her fingers tugging the back of his hair. The air was thick with lust, the mirror showing the reflection of Eva’s moist green eyes and hickey’s across her neck and collarbones. Meanwhile, Julian placed their food in his space ring and climbed the stairs to their room. Opening the door, he found the room empty with the bathroom door open. ’Where are they?’ he frowned and was about to leave the room but he froze in place by a sound. He turned and quickly walked to the bathroom and froze at the sight of them. "Really, I was out for twenty minutes and this happens," Julian muttered, his fingers hurriedly unbuttoning his shirt. Ethan paused when he heard Julian’s words but continued his actions. He took a nipple into his mouth, his tongue rolling around it, sucking them lightly. "Mm~" Eva’s grip on his hair tightened at his actions, her toes curling from the sensation. Julian moved forward, pinching her other nipple before kissing her, her moans vibrated through his mouth. Julian gave Ethan a look and his eyes flashed with understanding. His lips left her swollen nipple and he carried her out of the bathroom and placed her gently on the bed. Before Eva could regain her senses, Julian parted her thighs, his calloused thumb grazing her wet folds.
