Chapter 34: Who did this? She shook her head and left, trying to preserve the last shred of dignity for whoever was enduring such pain. Inside the room, blood pooled on the ground, and the man’s face was etched with pain as he severed his roots. Eva stared at their bleeding form and panicked. If they died, she would be arrested by the Vale Order. ’I’m too beautiful to waste away in some cell. There has to be a healing potion here,’ she thought, rummaging through her space bag. She pulled out every vial she had. She started at the potion and blinked. "which one is the healing potion?" She picked the first vail- grey liquid sloshed inside. She walked towards the leader and opened the vial. ’’Mm...let’s try this one,’’ She muttered, pouring two drops into the leader’s parted lips. She waited. After a minute, the man screamed, the sizzling sound of burnt flesh filling the room. Smoke poured from his mouth. He fanned his face with one hand, tears slipping down his cheeks as he struggled to stop the pain. After a minute, his pain ceased- he was lucky Eva hadn’t poured the whole vial down his throat. He felt a strange emptiness in his lower parts, and a nightmare of his male parts being removed flashed in his mind. He burst out into heart-wrenching tears. Eva picked another vial, this one filled with orange liquid. Ignoring his sobs, she repeated her actions. The man swallowed instinctively, his eyes widening as he saw the orange liquid. "What the - Arghh!’’ His stomach churned painfully, rolling on the ground, overwhelmed by pain. Eva frowned and picked up another Vial. ’So it causes pain...nice! Useful for later. Now, which one should I try?’ she thought as she pulled out a green liquid-filled vial. She regarded the man as an experimental subject. The man, sensing her gaze, weakly crawled towards the door, but Eva yanked him back. "Why are you running? I’m trying to help you! Stop crying like your life is over. I cured your sickness. You should be grateful," Eva said, her tone sweetly innocent, her eyes glinting as though he were ungrateful for what was best for him. "W-What’s wrong with you?!" The man screamed, his voice hoarse from his previous cries. ’What kind of insane person had he offended?!’ ’’Help! Someone Help!’’ he screamed, hoping someone would hear him from outside. Eva quickly knocked him unconscious and poured the green potion into his mouth. She watched the tear on his forehead close, humming in satisfaction as she fed the other men two drops as well. After washing her hands, she stared at them, a thought suddenly crossing her mind: ’How would they pee?’ All those Encuch in Chinese novels never really explained that process to her. ’Or was it from their butt? Ew! Gross!’ (╬ ̄皿 ̄). Shaking her head furiously to banish the thought, she hurried to the door. Peering outside, she saw no one passing by and quickly left the restroom. Only to bump straight into a wall. "There you are. I thought you lost your way," Julian’s familiar voice called. Eva sighed in relief. Her heart skipped when she saw a stranger trying to turn the knob to the restroom. She grabbed Julian and started walking quickly. "What- hmm?" Julian’s words were muffled by her hand as she made a shushing motion and mouthed, "Later." Julian looked confused but followed her lead. He could only wait to ask questions when they reached the cabin. "Ahhh! Blood!" A woman’s shocked screams echoed through the area. Julian shot Eva a questioning glance, but she avoided his gaze, quickening her pace. Once inside the cabin, Eva exhaled in relief, collapsing into the seat. ’’I’m safe.’’ her tone was filled with relief before two shadows blocked the light. She looked up to see two pairs of eyes filled with questions staring back at her. ’’Start talking.’’ Ethan’s tone was calm but his expression changed when he saw the blood stains at the edge of her trouser. "What happened?" Ethan’s concerned tone drew Julian’s attention, and his expression changed as well. His mind flashed back to that woman’s scream. "Are you hurt anywhere?" His tone sounded urgent, his hands searched her body for any wound. Eva’s focus was on how to inform them she might become a criminal; before she could react, her top was pushed up, and the glaring purple mark was visible on her stomach. "Who did this?" They asked in unison; the room temperature dropped, and their hands traced the bruise on her skin. Eva shivered for no reason; their chilling gaze froze her in place. "Umm...I have dealt with them already. No need to be angry." Eva whispered, sensing their suppressed fury. Feeling her stiff body, they suppressed their murderous aura. "Tell us where they are," Ethan said gently, trying not to scare her. Julian frowned at the mark. He couldn’t give her potions yet, and he didn’t have any balm for injury in his space bag. "I cut out their...lower parts. They bled so much, what if the Vale Order arrests me? Whoo hoo, what if I rot in jail? No meat!.(⁠ ⁠ꈨຶ⁠ ⁠ ̫̮̇⁠ ⁠ꈨຶ⁠ ⁠)" At the thought of no meat, Eva cried dramatically, tears welling in her eyes. Her exaggerated worry seemed to deflate their anger. Julian ruffled her hair. "No one’s going to arrest you. Does it hurt anywhere?" He asked, trying not to laugh at her tear-streaked face. She glanced at both of them and saw they were being serious, she was about to sigh in relief when a knock sounded on their door. She jumped from her seat, her eyes darting around the room for somewhere to hide, her heart was beating fast in her chest. She couldn’t see a place to hide, so she mouthed to them, ’What should I do? They are here for me!’ "Nothing will happen." Ethan’s calm words settled her a bit, but her eyes couldn’t leave the door. Her legs tapped nervously as Julian went to open the door, not feeling secure enough, she hid behind Ethan. ’I didn’t kill them; they wouldn’t arrest me.’ this thought filled her mind, and her leg weakened in relief when she saw Julian walk in with a tray of meals.
